Well, usually, at the start of every episode, Les would ask more details about the families. In this case, Challenge TV has heavily edited the intro to the show for more advert space. It's not just Family Fortunes either, you can see butchered edits on Catchphrase, Bullseye and some others. This was a common practice when Challenge was owned by Virgin Media. (They still have/show these butchered prints to this day)
@@gunsharck Wipeout the edits were out of control. There used to be a lot of facts between answers given. They skipped a lot of the contestant chatter at the start and the fact they skipped out the question to determine who starts with control of the grid.
