  • Tiaina Baul "Junior" Seau Jr. (January 19, 1969 -- May 2, 2012) was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) who became a San Diego sports icon. Known for his passionate playing style,[1][2] he was a 10-time All-Pro, 12-time Pro Bowl selection, and named to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team.
    Of Samoan descent, Seau played college football at the University of Southern California. He was taken by the San Diego Chargers as the fifth overall pick of the 1990 NFL Draft. Seau starred for 13 seasons for the Chargers before being traded to the Miami Dolphins, where he spent three years before four final ones with the New England Patriots.
    Seau retired from pro football in 2010. A standout on San Diego's only Super Bowl team, he was later inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame and the team retired his number 55. Seau committed suicide with a gun shot wound to the chest in 2012 at the age of 43.

      DUALITY, Lawrence Taylor is an outside, speedy linebacker. Seau and Ray Lewis are middle linebackers. They both need the strength to overrun offensive linemen head on and run block.

    Junior was an amazing man and player. Had the honor of meeting him in person, when I was 9. He came over to me and talked to me. Being at a resort in Hawaii, we saw each other a lot and he always went out of his way to say hello. God bless you Junior.

      Trollsif Stalin it's hard to say who the best linebacker ever was..It's not a case closed like Jerry Rice being the best receiver ever. Junior was definitely one of the best ever. Many would say Jack Lambert was the best because of the championships and how dominant the steel curtain defense was in the 70's. It depends who you ask, but there's no clear cut winner.

    • @bushwhakked
      @bushwhakked 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      S. Tavares Rice it can be argued that he has two of the greatest passers of all time. Remember Montana had 2 rings before Rice even suited up. So not clear cut. Only 2 players stick out. Brown and Taylor.

    • @s.tavares3257

    I'm still broken every football season knowing that he is gone. but I can see his spirit on the field. even if the chargers are in LA. he would want me to still be a charger fan because it is about the game not the setting. he taught me alot of things everytime I'd visit Oceanside. my last year of football was the year he died. "you walk away if you are if you hurt, if you have broken arm. you dont walk away voluntarily, you walk away because you have to." I cried cause he is right I played my 9th season of football and broke my 6th bone. and an acl tear. I stopped cause I needed a future. I'm sad he didnt get to see his. you taught me to keep moving
