Hello. I attended Olafur Arnalds concert tonight in Brussels and he explained that while he was in studio for weeks trying to define and write what would Re:member album would mean and sound like, he had inspirations blocks. So after few weeks inside that studio without windows to the world, he decided to travel the world and find inspiration. He spent New Year's eve and day on an Indonesian island (Bali) and indeed that New Year's day is all about silence. To give one day back to our planet earth after all the bad that we humans do to our planet. The day of silence. And silence brought him the inspiration while he sat on the piano there. That's when he composed this song and why he named it Nyepi :)
