First in-hand video for this wave. Amazing review, thank you for your insights! Love how good the paint job is done on the Maxie Zeus! I hope McFarlane will focus on the QC of the main figs aswell.
Thanks so much mate. Means a lot!! The urge is strong to just buy all of these waves and replace all of my older BTAS figures!! The QC was that bad on them. And yes, definitely more focus on loose joints and paint apps on DC Multiverse figures would be great.
That would be awesome. You know the DC Direct line actually did release a Ventriloquist? It was super limited and was nicely sculpted but they made some bad decisions around how Scarface would fit onto the Ventriloquist’s hand. Was super awkward to pose and stand. I ended up selling mine as well as my original DC Direct Scarecrow for a ridiculous price (even loose) and the very next week they announced the Scarecrow re release. I felt terrible for the buyer but I did pay a lot initially and was only looking to get my money back. I think we’ll definitely get the Ventriloquist eventually and Strange would make for an awesome BAF.
The originals were so nice and matte. Batgirl especially looks glossy. Add in the questionable cel shading and this is a sad pass as I would have liked a lighter blue Batgirl and Maxie Zeus.
The OG’s had sooo many other faults though. The flimsy joints were so bad that I can’t stand many of them up and the included stands were atrociously awkward. So many of the DC Collectibles figures are just bagged in my attic dude. While these McFarlane reissues do have their faults as well, I feel like the worst of the faults from the originals have been rectified, so they get a pass from me. This whole wave is currently standing on my shelf (without stands) and has been since purchase. That’s a lot more than I can say about most of the OG’s. I appreciate your comment btw dude!!
The QC on this line is absolutely putrid. I have yet to see any of the newer McFarlane animated have even solid juicy throughout almost every figure has a big issue.
I hear you man. It hasn’t been great. But for me personally, this specific wave has been a real step up. All the joints are tight and every figure stands perfectly on their own and more ball joints rather than the hinging legs too.
"Lightning Strike" Batman is a lazy repaint. He doesn't even have his glider from the original toy. I'm none-too-pleased with the face on Holiday Joker but at least you could swap it out. Lol.
Haha true. Tbh I’m just glad they didn’t give us an even lazier repaint Batman that I already had. At least it’s an inspired repaint. Thanks for your comment!!
I don't understand the cell shading on these figures, yet he avoids doing them on TNBA figures. Make your platinum figures with the cell shading. Also, the BAF do not have cell shading, so stupid! I have a full collection of figures and now a cell shaded Two Face thrown in the mix since he was impossible the first time to come across 🤦
I don’t think the cel shading is even all that visible from afar at least. You’re right though, he was super hard to come by the first time around and I’m so glad I have him now. I think you’re onto something there with the platinum being the cel shaded version. You should work for McFarlane lol!!
Excellent review man! Looking forward to these hitting the states! 🙌
Thanks Pac!!
Love that we're getting Zeus. Can't wait to see what's next, after the Bruce Wayne BAF.

The fact we got Lightning Strike Batman is absolutely mental.
Great Wave and wicked Review
Thanks mate 🙏🙏🙏
If McFarlane would only give us a classic Ventriloquist and Hugo Strange and a TNBA of Mad Hatter and Penguin

I miss the toy shelves in the background!
Yeah I was trying something new but I might go back to it lol
@@DAVEcaveDAVE. it’s a bit “New Coke”
@DCMultiCollector the disrespect!!
Saw those at TRU today.
Just picked up the Batgirl. I'm loving the variant Batman too.
Yeah I understand the complaints but there’s a lot to love about this wave!!
These look cool. Not my thing though. I like more realistic and not so cartoony figures. I did get the Jokermobile and put the 60s villians in it.
Fair enough man! I’m so nostalgic for BTAS so I feel compelled to get them haha!!
@@DAVEcaveDAVE. I loved the show growing up. I actually have a lot on vhs and yesterday got some episodes on dvd.

if they just want to do kenner repaints, might as well make it a 4 pack or 8 pack of just all the different coloured batmen -_-
That would be kinda cool for inbox collectors. Especially if it was an SDCC set or something with special packaging.
Whos the plat for this wave?
None
