I was at this show, and this video, while AWESOME, doesn't even come close to capturing how mindblowing these guys are live. I drove 9 hours for that show and it was completely worth it. I'll br driving another 6 to see them in Buffalo with Coheed, and I know it won't be in vain.
The last chorus was definitely not added over. You can still hear and feel the live atmosphere and you can hear variations in the harmonies between the band members that aren't in the studio version.
Driving from Houston to San Antonio in August to see these guys (for the first time), Porcupine Tree (2nd) and Coheed (5th). Could NOT be more excited. These guys are epic.
21 days until I see you guys again. It's insane to believe you guys have actually gotten BETTER live since the last time I saw you. I didn't think it was actually possible.
@ohohmynow The Dear Hunter is amazing, but Between the Buried and Me may rival them for live execution. It is nearly impossible to differentiate the live version of their album Colors from the studio version. Just incredible. Regardless, so happy that proshot videos of their shows exist.
Search up Something by Snarky Puppy. Towards the end, Lalah sings chords. It is possible, although obviously Casey either dubs that track or a reverb/multiplier is pumped through the board...
@judicaboodi94, i think casey explained that on thelakeandtheriver a while ago. that explanation is pretty much spot on. i could be misremembering though.
@jcreighton9090 Very likely to be the best show ever in existence ever. Looking forward to seeing every single person there. I will be friends with all.
Really? I guess I haven't been keeping up, but everything I heard about their plans directly following the color spectrum was to start writing Act 4. Either way, more TDH is more TDH, so who can really complain?
@ellis2k3 Probably one of the more random & incorrect comments I've seen in a while. Not only is the music so different, it's a million times as dull & uninspired both lyrically & vocally. The instrumentation's alright, though.
I am so lucky to have found such an amazing band. Being able to listen to them alone is honorable.
2:06
That "I" is just perfect. So awesome!
INCREDIBLE LIVE PERFORMANCE. Easily an addicting band. I love them.
just heard these guys today. im starting to think their my new favorite band....like, ever,,,, gonna go buy the album now:]

Great live video! Awesome!
they're so freaking incredible live, I couldn't tell the last bit had been dubbed until I saw the comment saying so.
TDH. oh, so good.
So insanely awesome.

I love Nate's dance moves.
@cubecubed -dude you are so right! saw em a couple months ago, was the greatest thing i've ever seen

The sound gets over-dubbed with the album version at about 3:00. Which is garbage. I always love hearing the final "What was your name?!"
2:06. Just wow.
Nate always was a good dancer.
wow, i didnt' even notice. pretty seamless integration.
@KTMykel thats because the real song is dubbed over this video for some stupid reason. but they still sound amazing live

Sounds exactly like the studio song.
Everyone listened to his story. >_>
@ohohmynow coheed and cambria-close second.
amazing how tight this is.
I was there :)
also, even if that's true it doesn't mean the acts are done for good. Its always something they'd be able to go back to.

i dont get why they dubbed the audio track from 2:48 onward from their original track on there album on this clip?
