Great tutorial. Love being able to send the different oscillators to separate filters, so you don't get an overpopulated, muddy low end. I'd also suggest adding a little mb compression to help glue the layers together and avoid any clipping. Definitely going to start using Vital more for my pads in the future. Awesome synth.
Awesome. I've had Vital for a while now and I rarely use it. I know its pretty powerful too but sound design has never been my thing. I ve always adjusted presets to my liking. Any time I've made a sound it always takes me way too long. This was easy peasy to follow along too. Im going to have to check out your base tutorials too. I have phaseplant as well which I also am not using much. I need to tray making some pads with that too.
Thanks man this is a fantastic guide. Now i can create my own pads and drones for my dark ambient music. What i do a little bit different is skip the reverb and delay in vital. I use valhalla shimmer and valhalla supermassive instead for those big meaty delays. Cheers Stranger!

I can tell you have lots of passion, enthusiasm & knowledge for music production at a young age - I was exactly the same at your age about 30 years ago and found out that was due to ADHD! (Which I thought was a curse originally, but now I know it is a gift - which needs to be managed.) All the best from Australia. =]
Pad sounded great! Would love to hear some of your thought process as you are creating these sounds. It is always nice to know what your goals are as you make a sound and what effects accomplish that goal.
Vital (and most every plugin) just listens for midi signals, it doesn't discriminate by brand. An m audio midi controller would work as well as any other midi controller.
When I hear these synths, I hear making one mosquito sound buzzing around your ear in a swarm of mosquitos buzzing around your ear morphed into bad intestinal sounds that sound like in the end the sound of blowing out diarrhea in your pants with echoe, reverb and phaser effects added. Oh don't forget the filters! Stay healthy guys!

Holy crap. Here I thought I was clever for recreating the lead synth from fireflies using two oscillators and a delay, lol!
