@@StylishGreaseMonkey They fit AMAZING. Honestly I tried APC, N&F, Nudie, Unbranded and this slim straight is my perfect fit. Just got the “arrow” broken twill as well as the “hatch attack” so happy. Slim but enough room to move comfortably :)

Selvedge jeans just look better. I wish I had discovered them earlier. I am like you, and have the urge to buy more. Cost adds up quick though. My first pairs were Naked and Famous catechu selvedge, and Free note cloth Portello 17 oz black. I think the 17 oz is hard core stiff, but you have me beat. I actually like the feel of the jeans being stiff.

How is the sizing on Brave Star? I normally wear a 38. I’m 6 02 - 220 and appendix carry.

    • @StylishGreaseMonkey
      @StylishGreaseMonkey  ปีที่แล้ว

It depends on the material used. Heavy sanforized selvedge will shrink and stretch. Unsanforized selvedge will shrink about an inch on the waist and length as well as everywhere else.
The sizing is on point but you need to read the information provided for each style. I wear a true 34/30 and ordered the 34/36 21.5 oz. I have soaked it once and it is still at size 34. The website recommends I purchase a size 33 for when it finally stretches but I hate being uncomfortable so I ordered my size.

Amazing jeans but too big. Next time try 33 or even 32.
I got 6 pairs of true straights since December. I lift too and got them so tight my thighs felt like they'd Hulk out of the fabric. The top button was so tight I could *barely* button it.
Months later the thighs are a perfect fit and I can get 2 fingers in at the waist. They stretch a lot and your thighs look pretty roomy here and you even had some space at the waist. They are gonna stretch a good inch or more in a hurry.

@@StylishGreaseMonkey If they won't take them back, you can always get a tailor to alter them. When I was figuring out my ideal size I wore an oversized pair a bit too long and I couldn't return. I took them to a tailor along with my best fitting pair and said "I want them to fit just like these." $25 later, they do.
I know how odd it sounds, but your new jeans should even feel uncomfortable. Mine compressed my ass cheeks and the waistband left red marks on my belly. I wondered for a few days if I made a mistake. But after 4-5 days of daily wear, suddenly they fit. Pulling them up, I could feel the pants almost clicking into place over my thighs, butt cheeks. Now I wouldn't size these any other way. This worked for me in 12.5 oz "summer weight" denim all the way up to 21.5.
Just trust me and try it. Absolutely as tight as you can button.

Glad you like them, and that's truly what's important. I want to point out that Bravestar and the people behind it (especially customer service) are complete fucking trash, though. The fit of any of their jeans are sloppy (to each their own) and in the wash, wow, wait until you wash these pieces of shit. Threads start popping everywhere. Belt loops, especially. And that cloth tag gets mangled.
    It's fun.
Also, if you do have a problem, don't expect a response from CS. I believe I got zero replies to 2 emails.
Do yourself a favor. Grab some IronHeart's, Freenote's...hell, even Naked & Famous. IH especially is lightyears above what Bravestar is is producing. IH has AMAZING customer service.
Again, it's great you like these BS 21.5oz, heavyweight is where it's at. Stoked that they work for you. I would have loved to have better things to say about the brand.

@@StylishGreaseMonkey Update...... I received the 21.5 indigo. No odor.
I looked on their website and they mention that the double black, dyed inside and out, (and I assume the lighter weight black only dyed on the outside) is dyed using a sulphur dye. So that is definitely where that odor comes from.
I wish I sized up in the double black because I had to soak them several times using baking soda (a lot of it) and water. The smell is fading only slightly. The waist shrunk due to the soaks but I used a pants waist stretcher to give me a little more room.
