Lately, I've been thinking about the role of sadness in real life. It's necessary in order to process certain things that happen to us, such as heartbreak, grief, and difficult change. If people can't feel sad, how will they be able to process these things or express their needs to their loved ones? For another biblical perspective, I also think of Jesus' response to Lazarus' death before raising him back to life. His response was to weep and grieve in order to further convey the fact that He became human and felt human emotion out of love for us.
Man, I loved the analogy too, I'm a psychologist and I think this film is very profound and manages to touch various audiences in different ways, both in a more existential or spiritual sphere as well as a scientific one.
