why doesn’t this excite me?! i used to like her
I’m an old guy , a former dancer and I’ve seen this pas de deux 100’s of times. While these dancers are incredibly talented,as are all ballet dancers these days, this performance left me flat! I’ve seen her many times at the theater and this is not her best. As another commenter pointed out, they seem to be sleep dancing.
Corey has grown tremendously. Paloma, as always, is sublime.

She was a sensation in her early ABT days and popular with the audience. But she always seemed stiff to me. She had her balances, which the audiences loved, but her arms and upper-body carriage was rather cold - of course IMHO.
In that era, I much preferred Irina Dvorovenko, Ashley Tuttle and Gillian Murphy (who is still dancing I believe).

Grande conduzione del ballerino nel mantenimento delle positure figurali nel balletto d'ensemble. Ottimi quelli che con un mio neologismo mi piace chiamare convoli aerei ed elanisti della ballerina ottimamente indotti dal partner. Grande impressione di facilità esecutiva d'acchito da parte di entrambi .È solo da immaginare il grande lavoro che sottende a questa impressione di naturalezza esecutiva. OLTREMODO BRAVI

I love the pas de deux, this one with Paloma is so far the most bellow the level of Svetlana Zhakarova, n.osipova, M vinogradova, Anastasia matvienko, Aurelie Dupont, so elegant

A sweet performance but Paloma is far better in an earlier recording with the incomparable Angel Corella. Cory Stearns has vastly improved as a dancer but some of his DQ variations are plain and lacking individuality.

i have personally never liked paloma herrera that much. i think she is overestimated. her technique is not even close to be perfect, not even her posture. she loses an dehors all the time, etc. ok.

Odd that a South American Latina can’t put over a “Spanish" role. It takes a Russian ballerina to give us real ersatz-Spanish.
Watch Marianela Núñez in this role. She is Argentine and a wonderful principal of the Royal Ballet.

Paloma has such beautiful feet. Lovely dancer, pity that she just retired in May. Stearns is no slouch either. Good job.

Honestly, I've heard a lot about Paloma Herrera, but this is the first time I've seen her dancing. and I felt nothing. Maybe Quijote doesn't match her essence and she will shine more in Giselle or Nutcracker for example. Technically she's great and secure, but there are dancers that on top of technique, bring emotion to their performance.
On TH-cam, you can see her younger in a performance with Angel Corella: she's the best Kitri I've ever seen!!

@@moonlightchill4538 I saw Marianela Nuñez, Iana Salenko, Zakharova, Osipova... I know it's not enough, but I loved Paloma's youthful interpretation with Corella, full of glamour and verve. Perhaps, this is a more mature and elegant version, but absolutely positive. However, everyone has their tastes, of course. 👍🏻😊

Bueno en gustos y colores..... nunca me gustó paloma ,muy fría siempre. Parr su época una sensación por lo joven que era en ABT perro ahí nomas. Y en esta ocasión en mi querido pas de deux ! No debió haberlo bailado.

la bailarina del min 5:24 era como pesada, gorda. No estaba a la altura del rol. Lo único bueno fue el bailarín que interpretó a Basilio.
