Lucky you. I followed the races on ESPN2 and SPEED through the years, and Henry and Dowd appearing at Southwick just seemed "normal" to me. Henry did really well in the first moto only to crash out of moto 2, and Dowd getting on the podium overall was always a sight to see.
Dowd probably had 10years on the rest of the riders on the KTM. Henry is just plan all out awesome I think he was also on a 2 stroke I was surprised to him there 2003.Seen these two go at it at middleboro on the off season when they first started racing the AMA series.Two great racers.

Man I was at this race! Things have changed so much at the races now. You could stand right behind the starting gate. No Monster girls holding the 30 second board. I think it was $20 to get in.
Did anyone notice how Rickey had to overcome the massive HP difference with the 4strokes? And he still beat them! Had Ricky had a 450 it would have been a joke.
Hard not to notice that. Ricky was even talking non-stop about Windham on his 450cc bike. Why Ricky stayed on his CR250R I don't know, but I agree -- if Ricky was on a 450cc, 2003 would've been another perfect season, but on the other hand, with Windham coming back from his 18-month absence, it might've been slightly tougher for Ricky to get a perfect season, but he did jump on a CRF450R for the 2004 Nationals and swept the season again. To this day, even though Ricky won the championship on his CR250R with 15 moto wins out of 22 and 9 overall wins in 11 races, I still wonder why Ricky didn't jump aboard a 450cc then -- Chad Reed jumped on a YZ450F at Millville after not having much success on his YZ250 2-stroke all that summer, and Reed's results improved, though he didn't win any motos.

Henry was certainly one to talk about that season. Unfortunately, the second moto ended pretty sour.
