- A few days ago, Brennan and I went to Magic Kingdom for a Cast Member preview of Tiana's Bayou Adventure! As a Cast Member, I was able to bring Brennan as a guest, and after checking in at the TTC, we made our way to Magic Kingdom and back to Frontierland to verify the status of the ride. Because it was down, we took the opportunity to get water and get AC, watched the Hoedown, and took the Walt Disney World Railroad around the park before Tiana's opened back up. We immediately got in line (which stretched back to Pirates of the Caribbean), and eventually made it through the queue and onto the ride! Once finally accomplishing our preview ride, we rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, had dinner at Tony's Town Square, and came back to look at the nighttime lighting and ambiance of Tiana's before finally going back to the parking lot. I remember waiting in that same courtyard many years ago for my Annual Passholder preview of Splash Mountain when it first opened. Yes, I'm old. LOL And so was Splash Mountain. No one has seen the source material in years, and every time I heard Brer Fox's dialect, I cringed. It was time for it to go. Yes, it was an amazing ride, but so is Tiana's Bayou Adventure. People need to give it a chance. Yes, the tone of the ride is different. It is night time instead of daytime and has moments of complete atmosphere as you float down the gorgeous Bayou. I don't see anything wrong with that. They do that in many attractions. Hell, that is 99% of Navi River Journey - and it still has a hefty line at all times. Tiana has the beautiful ride that she deserves. People who are experiencing Disney for the first time will love it and the old timers will have fond memories. Onward! Now if they would just update Imagination at Epcot. They obviously still believe in Figment because of the amount of merch they sell. He is even in the Dreams that Soar drone show. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It's not a fun answer to get I know, but I try to keep that personal for the time being just to avoid any issues (conflict of interest) with my current job. I usually talk about my previous positions once I move on to other opportunities, so I'll share that I've worked in Attractions over the years (10 years ago when I was hired I worked at Dumbo/Barnstormer and then transferred to Jungle Cruise, and then left Attractions only to accept a temporary Covid displacement at Peter Pan's Flight and it's a small world), but I'll talk about it at some point more specifically in the future I'm sure!

Doesn’t bode well if that’s the preview and the ride is constantly going down, it’s not even height of summer yet, hope Disney doesn’t have a problem child on its hands.
That's kinda the point of previews is to work out the issues during operating hours

I fast forwarded through a lot of this video (sorry) to avoid spoilers. What was interesting though is that you were allowed to record it before it opened to the public as I remember that you weren’t allowed to on the ratatouille ride, despite it opening in DLP 7 years earlier. The bits I did watch I thoroughly enjoyed though.😊
Disney seems to fluctuate on their rules with previews. Ratatouille was interesting because I had to put my phone in a sealed bag for my preview, but after that first day they relaxed and let people come into the France expansion and take photos/videos from that point on.
Oops pressed the wrong key. Thanks for a great video and review of the ride. Have not been on it yet but it looks like a good upgrade on Splash which i have ridden. Audio wasnt the best but i guess this video was shot before your new mikes? Keep up your videos and balanced comments.

With all the Tiana breakdowns I suppose they can expect to sell a lot less tickets for the first month of the ride opening than they hoped.
Looks beautiful! Especially at night. I am sure it will be a hit. I can’t help but feel like there are a few other versions I would rather have than princess and the frog. I just don’t think that movie is worth it. But hey I loved splash mountain and never saw a movie for that so what do I know.
Tbh i feel like the new high tech animatronics , screens, and the VERY high water levels are really screwing with the sensors :( i hope its fixed pretty soon bc i feel like it needs to be perfect for official opening date
I think its great. Very few if any saw Song of the South...which is pretty cringe. The Uncle Remus stories are classics but didnt translate well in the 50s. I wish there was this much uproar when Lillian's rose garden and gazebo was turned into a princess meet and greet. Or when the court of angels was closed off for more club 33 access. ACTUAL history.... not an aged out attraction.

Its a clear downgrade in every way. The music, visuals, story, mechanically it's worse then splash mountain in all aspects. It might still be a good ride, but to spend all that money and time to downgrade the ride is in line with what disney has been doing lately.
