I am a Nigerian born in Kissy in the 60s and I was in Kissy, Freetown December 2022 to trace information 😊 well, my memories of the Shell Community is that of a sad one because of the way the Sierra Leonioan government treated my family, how they took our properties because of who knows what and sent us packing with not even a pin of our property,, as a child then, I had to fend for my family, we came back to Nigeria in 1979 to start life afresh despite all my daddy put in that country, my dad is still alive in his 90s, check out Independence Memorial Secondary School as it was called then and you will know what am talking about 😊❤
From Alusine Street when I left SierraLeone. Thanks very much. The house I lived in and the neighbouring are still intact. The major difference is the population growth; like everyone has left the provinces with abundant resources and come to the city to grab the meagre available for the population. Thanks for the video.
I enjoyed this virtual tour through an amazing district very much. It shows a relaxed neighborhood and it`s certainly a pleasure to encounter these sincere inhabitants who casually stroll along the roads. 😦

For the pass thirty years, those roads at Kissy Texaco and it’s enviros still look the same, no improvement.It’s time the residents embark on paving their road. The difference between Freetown and cities in the provinces is land space......Freetown population density is 100x more compared to Bo, Makeni or Koidu....

In the US the government is only responsible for the highway roads but in the residential area the residents are responsible for their roads they call it HOA (Home Owner Association). Each month they contribute money to maintain the roads and the neighborhood. The Sierra Leone government should start something similar. Very sad 😔
