One of my orchids has drooping green leaves and the stem is starting to lose its green color. The roots look okay, and I want to make sure everything is okay. Can you help please? All my other orchids are fine and I have an orchid that is older than this one but the stem is a healthy dark green
9:46 Hello! My orchid finally started growing a new stem after 1.5 years. It was my greatest moment when I saw it start to shoot up! I just noticed this morning, after several weeks of it growing rapidly up to about 14 inches that I have even been able to curve with rotating towards light, that the tho is now turning brown. The first node below where it is turning brown looks like it is leaking some type of fluid. I am not sure if I should give up on this stem completely? It would tear me up to cut it all the way back after several years for me attempting to get new stems on my orchids! It has 2 nodes that look healthy still below the leaking one. I cannot find anything in your videos about this issue specifically. Any help would be so appreciated!
All of my Phals are from people who had them only while in bloom. They then pass them to me, and I cut the spike. I have one that had no spike for 2 years and then last August 4 th it bloomed from a newly grown spike. It is still in bloom now on March 10 th. There were 28 huge flowers and it still has 6 big and gorgeous blooms. I do not understand this, but love it.
How did you make it to bloom for so many months? Did you use fertilizer when it was in bloom? Do you use rain water or tap water? Did you soak it once a week?
Hello Ms. Orchid. Can you believe that I have had an orchid for 11 years? It bloomed for three years and had a keiki, which I still have alive. Then, it stopped blooming for a few years. I guess it was because I moved and she did not like the new environment. But, 3 years ago, I moved again to a cooler apartment and it bloomed again and the flowers were so pretty and so many and lasted for 6 months. I moved back again to my old apartment, which is warmer and doesn't have too much sunlight, but in March of this year, I noticed that it was shooting a new flower spike and it bloomed again in May. It has only a few flowers, and I hope they last for a little longer. It is really hot in NYC right now. But, I love my orchid so much. It's been 11 years together and I will never give up on her and on her keiki. Thank you for all your videos. I always come back to them to make sure I am trying my babies the right way. Thank you!!
Orchids can be surprising as you said. I had one blooming from under the roots!! I saw something that looked like a new root, but it was turning purple, till I realized it was not one, but 2 flowers together growing from under the old roots. Amazing.
Wow, phal. Schilleriana looks like a tree! And not so long ago she was a young keiki. Sooo much beauty surrounds you, Danny. Your orchids love you! 🏵️🌷💕
I used to cut my spikes all the time and then I realized some of them wouldn’t bloom back again for a while, so I switched to leaving the spikes and it’s given me better results. 😊 out of my 24 phals, 15 re-bloomed from their old spikes and also grew new ones. I think this is more common as they mature though. Younger plants seemed to skip a blooming season for me.
I just cut my flower spike this week, because I made several mistakes since first repotting it at the end of December. A couple weeks ago, having grasped my compounding errors, essentially stepped back to say you either live or die now, I won't mess with you anymore. But, seeing the roots green and thicken again, the leaves firming back up, I cut the spike, and finding the spike in the first place is what started me messing with it to try and give it better. I regret that I put the orchid through rounds of stress, but I have been appreciating this journey, and fingers crossed we've struck a balance, and your videos have been plant-life saving, thank you.
I just love your enthusiasm for orchids! Your expertise and knowledge of these beautiful plants is so impressive. I wanted to say thank you for sharing with all of us, your presentation is outstanding!
I get so happy when my home grown blooms are larger and and have more vivid flowers than what they were from the shop. I recently bought several discounted phals and in a month they look much better. The new flowers are not battered and much more vivid. 🙂
I love the fact that they continue to rebloom 🥰 even the ones that are fragrant and the polychilos ones they are really beautiful and I actually never cut theme even the standard ones just for remembrance sake 😁
My phalaenopsis re-bloomed for the 1st time this year. The spike is still green so I left it. Now, it's Oct 29th and she has a 7th leaf starting and the other 6 leaves are healthy too. I've read that isn't very normal. So whatever I'm not doing she is happy with. She is outside under white carport tent thingies. I've gotten distracted so many times with your video so I need to rewatch a 3rd time and get your opinion on keep it or nix it, lol. Hugs! You know we all love and appreciate you.
Ok Dani, the first time I cut the spike. This 2nd time (1st time for me growing it) I will at least cut it down to a node where it never bloomed a few months ago. I like to learn by observing. I would so so so so love for mother nature to allow me to have a kiaki.
My one orchid was given to me last Valentines Day (2021). The blooms fell off when I re-potted it. The flower spikes then turned brown, so I cut them down. It’s (only) been over a year and no new flower spikes have grown. But, the orchid is currently growing a third leaf since I’ve had it. I figure that a flower spike will grow in its own time since the leaves are healthy.
One of my rescued Phalaenopsis started to produce new buds on the spike I left, but then dropped them. Then, I noticed the leaves looked dehydrated even though I was watering sufficiently. I remembered you said that usually means a root problem. Sure enough, most of the original roots died off except for two very small roots. However, It has 3 bright, green root buds at the base. I removed it from the bark/moss mix and placed it in straight sphagnum moss. The leaf wrinkles have smoothed out with one leaf still a bit droopy, but I am still hesitant to cut he spike even though I know I should. After watching this video (again) I will cut the spike tonight.
Hi, my experience is that all my phals benefited from repotting and the flowers indeed looked stronger and more vigorous after a few days (my boyfriend told me a bit jealously). All orchids I've purchased so far still had their coco fiber plug on the butt. I don't want to risk rotting in any case so I free it from it and give good new medium. I experienced some bud blast but this mostly was explained by too much hair flow while transporting, too low temperatures during transporting (these were gifted ones and I couldn't influence it) or a too cold window where the tip of the flower spike had contact to. Almost every mini phal branched out so far. That's why I love them so much. I also have one that blooms fur 5 month now and now produces a completely new spike befor the old one dried down. My phals usually bloom for 4 to 6 month. It's amazing 😍
I have some flower spikes on 2 of my phals, and 3 Keikes on my other one! So excited! Also have new leaves on my others! They are definitely worth being patient for!
I really needed to hear this! I got some new phals and some of them are only beginning to form spikes (in March!). I felt like it was starting to be too late for them to bloom. I will watch them carefully and hope they have time for vegetative growth.
I have an orchid that dropped its flowers like it should have and in the summer I finally decided to cut the spikes about 2 months ago, it was a gift that had two and looked amazing. After cutting the spikes, it seems the roots have taken over. new roots are growing like crazy and a new spike has grown a couple of inches just within the last month or so. I wasn't planning on repotting just yet. I fertilized it for the first time at the end of July. That's when I noticed the growth increased. the latest set of leaves also grew pretty fast after removing the spikes. The plant is thriving. I just want to know if a flower spike showing now is normal. Roots are growing so fast I'll need to repot it. I'll review some more of the videos because they have been some of the best educational videos on the subject I've seen. I thought I had seen one on pruning leaves and roots maybe.
My once “blue and purple” phal puts on a show all season with spotted flowers which have different patterns each bloom, I can’t wait for her to grow tall like that 💖
Danny , Thank you for sharing your wisdom. I am a proud grandpa for the first time. 🎉 (Although I am not sure if it’s a 👦 boy or a 👧 girl.) Thanks again 🙏🙏 (Enjoy your beginner series video)
I didn't cute the spikes and now I have a rebloom on both spikes and in one of them even with a secondary branch. And from another phal that is more recently bought and still has its flowers, I noticed that the tip of the flower spike is elongating with more blooms. So cool. And I'm really happy cause in some of my phals I'm noticing new leaves and new roots. Yes! I'm doing smth right!
Hi. I am a newbie growing orchids. I really enjoy watching your videos. You are very knowledgeable. Do you have any videos propagation using stems? Thank you.
Hi, that is not possible, no matter what other sources might have you believe (except jewel orchids). But division of rhizomes and keiki propagation is very duable, so search for those I have quite a few vids 😊
I'm growing some out of different phal. Stems. Fingers crossed they work out. 2 stems from the same plants are getting keikis. The others unfortunately died.. So maybe it depends on the kind of phal. Or the ones I'm growing now, will eventually die too :( it's very tricky but exciting. It was a video show from a German plant "doctor" he build a mini terrarium (plastic bottle, etc) spagnum moss with aspirin +c(as a fertilizer) it's been 4 weeks now, around 12 weeks it should be ready to repot. Wish me luck😊
16:19 weather in the uk has been all over the place, so maybe that explains the 4 constantly blooming spikes with a 5th on the way. i've been meaning to chop a couple of them in order to get better quality blooms but ive been putting it off, wish me luck haha.
I have a question. Let's say you are looking at two orchids at the flower shop: one with 2 primary spikes, one with 3 spikes. How much do genetics influence how many primary spikes an orchid will have when reblooming? In other words, is it worth paying more at the shop for an orchid with more primary spikes? TIA! Love the channel. I'm listening to the videos as a pass time. I've just recently got into orchids, tropicals are more of my thing, and I absolutely love how diverse your videos are.
I kept most of my phals’ spikes over the last year if they didn’t dry out. Now that they’re reblooming, most of them are throwing out new branching spikes right from the old ones. I have a big white phal that had three spikes last year. This winter it threw out two branches from each of the old spikes, plus a new fourth (seventh?) spike from the base.
Hallo. I am new to orchids. Have watched a few videos and still learning. What is the preferred temperature during summer and winter and what is the minimum temp they can handle. Thank you for all your videos.
It depends on the type of orchid but most common phals are ok into the 50s or high 40s F as long as it’s not for long periods of time. As for high temps, into the 80s F is fine. They do need temperature fluctuations to bloom, the nighttime drop in temp in the Fall/Winter triggers them to start blooming.
Hi Danny, can't thank you enough for your videos, I have learned so much! I'd like your advice for my orchid. Two years ago I had to go away for a long time and left my plants to the care of family. When I was back the orchid had most of its aerial roots broken, root rot and a keiki! I set to help mom (repotting etc) and give the keiki time to grow. Keiki has only 2 roots 1 and 2 inches respectively, 4 leaves and a spike with coiple of flowers!. The mother also has a flower spike that is forming buds. I don't know if I should cut the keiki at this stage, because mother seems weak, dehydrated although I watered and fertilized her yesterday and I know her roots are not many. I am also struggling with humidity in my house despite running humidifier and pebble trays. Will cutting the keiki now help them both? Thank you for taking the time, a "yes" or "no" would be enough. This is a Just Add Ice orchid but she was my first one who started me learning about orchids and she is trying her best to survive. Thank you once more!
Danny, thank you so much for all the information! You're always so helpful and detailed, you're my go-to for orchid care! Could you please talk about seedling care? can they bloom? I purchased a Bellina seedling and 1 of the leaves were affected by pest, so it has 2 little holes where it was eaten away by pests.. Will it recover or continue to grow like that until I get a new leaf? I haven't been able to find much information anywhere else. I've also got a Sedirea Japonica and a Iwanagaara Haleahi seedling :) Thanks again for all your help!!!
Over the years we had numerous plants die on us. So this last one we had started to die or maybe just lose its flowers. I saw a video over a year ago and decided to try what I saw. Basically I removed all of the pot medium, cut away the dead roots and simply put the orchid back in the pot with just water filled roughly 1/4 up from the bottom. Holy moly, I got new leaves bloomed, a secondary flower spike and after a few months we have had 8 beautiful flowers that have lasted probably going on 6 months now. Lol whatever works I guess
Watching the end of your video, I can say you have lots and lots of orchid flowers coming your way, rather sooner than later 😂 Thank you for this video
Hi Dani, I’m always watching your videos and your an expert. I’m somewhat disappointed. In January I started my little collection of Orchids. I started with 8, now I have 4🙁. One is ok, and the other 3 are well I don’t know?? I think the problem started because, I never checked the roots when I purchased them. I’ve tried everything and nothing has worked.. I have noticed a lot of little tiny flies.. I don’t know if that has been the problem. Anyway, I haven’t given up. Thank you for sharing all your experience🌺
Thank you for this video. It has answered the question about when to cut flower spike. However, I have a question. I cut a flower spike in order to allow the plant to concentrate on its growth stage. I wanted the roots to grow, and the leaves to grow. I have just noticed it’s growing a new flower spike again. From your video it says it’s not good for an orchid to repeatedly produce flower spikes so. What do I do? What is your recommendation ? And finally, I heard that you were starting a question and answer forum how can I get in on that?
Love your videos, 'cause always something new to learn. How long is it going to take for a Den. kiki to grow into a matured cane with an end leaf? My Dens (nobly type) won't show end leaves all the way through winter time. Not sure there is any meaning to winterize them.
What happens when my orchid is having leaves and the spike is growing more leaves on top of the spike, it looks like 2 orchids on top of each other, should I cut the top one off? They are both growing roots all over?
Hoping you can help. I don’t know if you could do a video to help me. My problem is this. I do really well with dendrobium, catlleya, vanda and oncidium. I’m actually pretty good at getting them to grow roots profusely. Problem is I cannot do that with Phalaenopsis no matter what I do. I live in LA so my climate is a bit on the dry side. To counter this my setup and care is this. I put small pebble river rock on the bottom of the slotted cup. This helps keep them down during soaking and allows the bottom layer to remain dry because I had a lot of problems with root rot at the lower layer and it never drying. Than through the cup I mix sphagnum moss and orchiata bark. I usually water once a week heavily with half strength fertilizer (ie I let them soak a couple hours). By the way all the orchids have this setup except for the Vandas which are bare root and soaked two to three times a day. Because my climate is dry and my media dries fast the top of the orchid media gets misted about every other day (without that I found the upper roots would dry out). I get plentiful root growth and new stalks on all my orchids except phals. They just deteriorate and become more and more limp over time. Hoping you have some ideas or that this could inspire a video for “phals in a dry climate care”. Thanks. By the way, all except Miltionopsis but I’ve heard they are a pain for everybody. Lol
I live in Wyoming. Very dry here. Actually where we live desert as far as humidity. Mine do fine watering well once a week. Always spikes & healthy. My media is nearly completely dry between waterings. Bark & moss. Maybe it's a temp thing?? Not cool enough at night? Good luck!😊
I'm a total beginner with one plant. It was a present, and was beautiful. After the flowers faded, I cut the flower spike off at the base, and it's been over a year with no new spike. Sigh
Do you have any suggestion for a very fragrant beginner friendly lower humidity orchid? I know I’m asking a lot but I would like to try growing an orchid. Thank you ❄️💚🙃
This may be a dumb question but can a newly formed node branch also have its own nodes be used to form another branch also? Might not be the prettiest thing but just curious.
I have been working with my orchids for 4 years and I do not get flower spikes, but I have had reblooms on existing stalks. I get lots of roots, new leaves. I fertilize and water as recommended. I have moved most of them from a north exposure to a west exposure. Not sure how to decrease the temp unless it is to open a window at night, then the heat will come on. Please advise. 😢🙏🏼💚
To induce the growth of flower spikes on phals, find a place in your home where the temperature is lower than your usual "ambient" temperature for several weeks. A temperature drop at nighttime can be sufficient. So, maybe you have access to a cooler stairwell or a generally not heated room, or the temp in your bedroom is lower than in your livingroom. Or, during spring, summer, autumn, your plants can stay outdoors but still as per their needs (light but no direct sun, never any temps below 10 deg C / 50 deg F), meaning during spring and autumn a stay outdoors during daytime and during the summer months during nighttime. Bear in mind that some phals bloom more towards winter&spring, whilst others may bloom towards summer&autumn, and even though you may have successfully induced the growth of a flower stalk, a bloom may be held off until the right time. And remember to (very lightly) fertilise your plant as per the instruction on the packaging of an appropriate orchid fertiliser so it actually has enough strength to grow and maintain its buds. I hope this is helpful. Good luck!
Can you remove the spikes while still in bloom to get the orchid on different schedule like your other orchids. I bought one in September and want to get get back on a schedule to bloom earlier in the season
I need lots if help. I have 3 Phalaenopsus. While on vacation a friend watered them too much. When I got home 2 months later most of the roots were rotting. I cut them off & replaced the potting medium. One has done very well & is now in bloom. The other two don’t look too good. But one has produced 2 keikies. But the leaves are limp & it has also produced flower spikes. Mother plant has limp leaves also. I’m not sure what to do. The other one just produced a spike but is not doing much either. What should I do??
One of my orchids - Aphrodite Phalaenopsis - has 3 flower spikes. Two older ones that have bloomed twice in less than a year and new one growing. They are all green and healthy looking. Do I need to cut one? Or are they ok to have as many as they grow? Three of my orchids bloomed twice in less than a year. I didn't do anything to encourage it. They are in a northeast facing window in my bathroom. They seem to be very happy there...
Should moss be placed on top of the orchid potting soil? I received two as a gift a few years ago, and just had to repot them. I notice that I don’t see moss on yours. Thank you.
How would you go obout phal. 'Liodoro' flower spikes? They seem to never dry out. I get secondary branches but the old ones get new buds as well, it seems. But it is more like few flowers at once, not more (one of my plants is like that already all year). In a way i like it because then there is almost all the time some smell (which is adorable!).
My Phal has sent out a bizarre flower spike. It comes out from below all of the aerials where I can't even see and extends horizontally instead of vertically. Typically she blooms two times a year. I have not changed location or light. The first flower on the spike is not fully formed, missing the peddles, but all other flowers on the spike are fully formed. Any ideas about what she is up to?
Danny I bought an orchid last year and it had 2 long beautiful spikes with many many impressive flowers. This year only one stake and it barely grew more than 4 inches and only has about five flowers. What did I do wrong? Too much light? Little to no fertilizing? Could these be the culprit?
Hello Danny, would you use Lechuza self-watering pots for Miltoniopsis, Phalaenopsis, and alike? I’m beginning to wonder if these orchids might not get the aeration they need? What orchids would you use Lechuza self-watering pots?
What if I repot the roots go in the dirt or so much roots 🤔 what if I snap a branch with flowers on it..can it be saved how long until they need replanted
I have an orchid that is in bloom; however, within a day, the blooms drooped and fell off. The stem appears healthy and is a vibrant pick color and subtle. The question I have is, do I have to cut the stem to promote new growth or will this orchid find a way to bloom again>?
In may, I will be away from home for 13 days and I’d rather not have anyone water them. Can I leave 1/2 inch of water at the bottom of the decorative pot to keep them hydrated
I got a new phal I got to repot her too but I don’t have any pots to put them in either one of them so can I just put them in anything until I can get to the Lowe’s bc Home Depot didn’t have those pots with holes in them n I don’t have those cups either but those cups would not be big enough for the new one n after I clean up the oldest one which I’m scared that it would be really bad for that one but I hope that I got your green thumb Danni I just wish you could come to me n help me out here I live in Vacaville California
I'm always getting new baby orchids where the flowers should grow. What am I doing wrong? One orchid even had two spikes, and on both spikes more leaves and roots started to grow!
I have a stunning orchid with multiple flower spikes on the same branch but the plant itself looks like its suffering.. It has healthy roots and the flowers are incredible but some lower leaves are going yellow.. Can blooming take too much energy to sustain the whole plant?
Hello, hello . Hi thanks for your information ,I have a question my mother orchid had flowers las year, today she has tho spikes (daughters. ) in each branch have 4 green leaves came out and one of them problems flowers , they are completely healthy. My question whatI have to do … ? Thank you 😊
Hi MissOrchid girl, I think I stressed my orchid by transporting it from my house to my trailer (7h). My orchid have 6 buds and seem to be dehydrating. It’s there anything I could do? I realize that the To isn’t as stable as in my house (16 to 18oc). Please help me. Thanks. Katja
*I need help* - I was trying to fix a spike ( a young one) so it will grow straight and I pulled a little too hard and nipped the top... is there any hope it will grow other spikes from the one I just took the top off? It still has two additional separate spikes growing.
Hi Dani, I was given a dead orchid to try to revive. The mother was gone😑, but she had a keiki on each flower spike. The spikes were dead as well and poor babies severely dehydrated. I misted them daily fir a week, then I potted them and continued to water a little each day. They are getting more and more hydrated, but I noticed that where the roots joined the stem( oh yeah each had 4 roots) is dried, but the tips of the roots are green. Should I just continue as I am or is there something else I could be doing. Thanks
I had a spike bend from the top midway with flowers, but where the bend occurred, midway, was a swelling and mushiness . This seemed to occur overnight. I cut below the "mushy" area with flowers to the top. But I can't imagine where the mushiness can from. Bewildered. Please comment and help.
I was repotting my orchids and SADLY I broke a brand new spike of about 3 inches in hight. My orchids ALWAYS reward me each springtime. I am devastated. I have a spike of about one inch. What can I do? If I cut it just after the nodule will it shoot another spike or have I lost it flowering this year?
I was doing something near my orchid, and accidentally broke off the flower spike. It was in the middle of blooming. Is it possible it will try to make more flowers, or is it just going to try and grow new leaves and roots?
I have a dendrobien orchid. I’ve had it for 2 yrs. It’s beautiful as a plant but I haven’t been able to get it to rebloom. I have 12 phalienopsis and they are very healthy and rebloom well. What can I do with my dendrobien to get it to bloom
I really really hope you answer, I have a Phal that's been growing a flower spike BUT it's coming out like in a ring/U shape both ends connected to the plant I know it sounds crazy but has this ever happened to you?
My husband bought me a phalaenopsis orchid and the roots were never green but are still flowering. The leaves are strating to wilt two out of the three flowering spikes died off and i fear that the plant is going to die completely. What can i do to save it??? I wish i could share a picture on here
I am a beginner. Just wanted to know how to keep fertilizing the orchids once it stop its bloom , till it blooms for the next time . How to care . How about watering

Are you aware of an orchid company called Hausermans? I have purchased from them and they are very reputable.
Hahaha , story of my life for all plants. “I do not understand this, but I love it” 😂
How did you make it to bloom for so many months? Did you use fertilizer when it was in bloom? Do you use rain water or tap water? Did you soak it once a week?
Hello Ms. Orchid. Can you believe that I have had an orchid for 11 years? It bloomed for three years and had a keiki, which I still have alive. Then, it stopped blooming for a few years. I have one flower spike today, it will be my first time reblooming a phalaenopsis

Did re-bloom from the old spikes have big flowers and a lot in number? I also always cut the spikes when the blooms faded but now i reconsider
I just cut my flower spike this week, because I made several mistakes since first repotting it at the end of December. I regret that I put the orchid through rounds of stress, but I have been appreciating this journey, and fingers crossed we've struck a balance, and your videos have been plant-life saving, thank you.
Your wonderful love and energy has given me such happiness in starting my new love for orchids.
Mine went into bloom for the first time since I bought them last year. So exciting.
I just love your enthusiasm for orchids! Your expertise and knowledge of these beautiful plants is so impressive. I wanted to say thank you for sharing with all of us, your presentation is outstanding!

Thanks for all your tips. I recently was able to get my orchid to regrow some new roots after weeks of deteriorating.
(Although I am not sure if it’s a 👦 boy or a 👧 girl.)
Thanks again 🙏🙏 (Enjoy your beginner series video)
I didn't cute the spikes and now I have a rebloom on both spikes and in one of them even with a secondary branch. And from another phal that is more recently bought and still has its flowers, I noticed that the tip of the flower spike is elongating with more blooms. So cool. And I'm really happy cause in some of my phals I'm noticing new leaves and new roots. Yes! I'm doing smth right!
Omg can’t wait to see that P. schilleriana in bloom!
Yay just found your channel 😊. Received lovely orchids for Valentine's Day and blooms falling off and want to keep the plant alive!
I love your videos, These plants are amazing.
This is why I’m always hesitant to cut the used spike
I just bought my first two orchids. I'm afraid that I've already become addicted.
What does it mean when the original spike is still green without flowers and a new spike starts to develop? Will both eventually develop flowers?
Danny, thank you so much for all the information! You're always so helpful and detailed, you're my go-to for orchid care! Could you please talk about seedling care? can they bloom? I purchased a Bellina seedling and 1 of the leaves were affected by pest, so it has 2 little holes where it was eaten away by pests.. Will it recover or continue to grow like that until I get a new leaf? I haven't been able to find much information anywhere else. I've also got a Sedirea Japonica and a Iwanagaara Haleahi seedling :) Thanks again for all your help!!!
Love your videos. Very educational.
Thanks for charing
This video God Bless you!
Hello, friend. Nice to meet you. I'm enjoying your video. This is Palehyposis, which is also cultivated in Korea.
Your phals are just gorgeous 😍.
I love the videos. They have helped me a lot
Love all your videos.
Also my dendrobien orchid has roots coming out of the stems. But the plant itself has nice pseudo bulbs.
Excellent content. Thank you!💕
Love your videos, 'cause always something new to learn.
Good luck!😊
This is very helpful.
So helpful!
Great video thanks for sharing
I'm a total beginner with one plant. It was a present, and was beautiful. After the flowers faded, I cut the flower spike off at the base, and it's been over a year with no new spike. Sigh
Okay so I cut my spike and then realized it may rebloom so I stick it in water it’s now producing a shoot in water 🤩 have you experienced this?!?
Thank you 💖
Should moss be placed on top of the orchid potting soil? I received two as a gift a few years ago, and just had to repot them. I notice that I don’t see moss on yours. Thank you.
What do you do when it is flowering and growing new shoots, cut the flowers?
How to make our phals to grow roots, leafs and flower spikes at the same time as we can see in your videos? :D
Hi Danny, yesterday I looked at a video of 8y ago and believe me O didn't even recognize your voice🤦♀️
Danni is 71 degrees in our apartment is that good temperature for our orchids since it’s winter time here Vacaville California
How do you get your Orchids in normal seasons when they flowering off season because of the growers greenhouse ?
How would you go obout phal. 'Liodoro' flower spikes? They seem to never dry out. I get secondary branches but the old ones get new buds as well, it seems. But it is more like few flowers at once, not more (one of my plants is like that already all year). In a way i like it because then there is almost all the time some smell (which is adorable!).
I cut my stem at the second-to-bottom node, but now the stem is turning yellow. Did I do something wrong? I did sanitize my scissors before.
I have a new leave coming from the main leaves but I’m worried about it being like smelly which is moldy smell n I cut more holes in the base
I’m lost on how far down you plant the roots?? I’m all new to this, my new hobby.., please help
I have a stunning orchid with multiple flower spikes on the same branch but the plant itself looks like its suffering.. It has healthy roots and the flowers are incredible but some lower leaves are going yellow.. Can blooming take too much energy to sustain the whole plant?
Excellent. Ty.
Hello, hello . Hi thanks for your information ,I have a question my mother orchid had flowers las year, today she has tho spikes (daughters. ) in each branch have 4 green leaves came out and one of them problems flowers , they are completely healthy. My question whatI have to do … ? Thank you 😊
Thanks
I had two spikes when the blooming was complete. I clipped them. Now they are brown..and don't look like yours. Should I clip that dark part off.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! 🧡
Thanks
Would it be ok to cut spikes before they form to have the orchid focus on vegetative growth?
Hi, yes why not, if you don't mind skipping the flowers, the orchid won't mind :)
I wish i could share a picture on here
Hi Danny I have a question in my phals I thought it is a flower spike but it came with small leaves and a flower spike is it normal.
I am a beginner. Just wanted to know how to keep fertilizing the orchids once it stop its bloom , till it blooms for the next time . How to care . How about watering
How do you get such healthy roots? I’ve tried your fertilizers, etc. to no avail. Please help.
