Remember when Steven Crowder confronted a black man painting a mural (on temporary plywood covering a storefront) around the time of the BLM demonstrations?
He approached the guy to interview/debate him in bad faith, and when for about 20 minutes the man succinctly explained his views and shot down some of Steve’s dog whistles. At the point where Steven had been made a fool (you can tell when Steven knows he’s losing a debate because he gets whiny like a spoiled kid) Steven tried to get one of his team to call the police on the man for graffiti.
Literally at a time when the entire nation stood up and said its unacceptable that we live in a time where black men are being killed simply for having the cops called on them for minor infractions, this dude wanted to call the police for graffiti on a temporary piece of plywood. (In an area where the neighborhood commission was encouraging people to put artwork on the plywood covering buildings.)

Seeing a white guy say Kamala isn't black reminds me of the time a white lady told me I wasn't Latina because I'm also white and don't have an stereotypical Spanish-speaking accent. I think the concept of a mixed race person is so confusing and threatening to racists because we don't always fit into their stereotypes, and that makes it much more difficult for them to identify us and then discriminate against us accordingly. The only people who care about things like racial purity are racists themselves, so I think they don't even realize how unhinged they appear when they say things like "you're not really XYZ" just because we don't match their preconceived stereotypes.
And it's usually the right wingers who are condemning "identity politics" so what's the deal with the double standards? I guess race or ethnicity are only relevant when they can be used in racist attacks against your political opponents.

Me too, and I don't shy away from what my two races are. I do not hide and rather proudly let people know I am also black, and not when it's convenient but at all times. Just like I am Greek at all times as well. I don't run from the word black, I embrace it.
