Honestly, the prison mechanic seems like a lesser narukami because we lost units on the board. But the problem is, unlike narukami, the deck doesn't have enough pressure on their own and doesn't generate enough advantage for a control deck, i mean look at the narukami trial deck. Both are trial decks yet narukami one has more control as well as aggro to generate advantage. Furthermore, opponent can abuse this jail mechanic and can still get their unit back which is less annoying then binding and the cost to free the units are somewhat manageble as each nation so far only use mostly 1 resource like Dragon empire, keter sanctuary, and stoicheia has some cb to spare if they can finish the game quickly and with their aggro playstyle, it's achievable while dark states has a lot of cb to spare. The only natiin that will mostly be annoyed by this mechanic is probably dragon empire because the jail can undo overdress
For the mean time, Brandt Gate is not as powerful as other old V decks. But compared to the rest of D trial decks its a whole different story. We may see some slight improvement on the deck prison mechanic in the near future.
@@vanguardwarriors140 what i meant is how the deck's impact on the current state. Yes i compare it to a v deck, but my main point is that the deck doesn't have enough aggro to support a heavy control playstyle and don't have enough defensive abilities to last as well. First of all let's try to take a look at each other nations Dragon empire only use soul to retire opponent's rearguard and has pretty good consistency that even if 1 overdressed rearguard is imprisoned, can still perform decently as they can cycle vairina and trickstar and still has another beater that nakes the swings pretty heavy and can generate nice magic numbers Dark states can ramp pretty quicly and generate string numbers while maintaining a decent hand size and have 5 swings per rurn Keter sanctuary has nice number, quick board deployment, and a potontial restand Stoicheia can attack up to 6 times with some engine piece, can generate some good numbers and can add units fron deck which helos maintaining hand size As we can see above the nations have some good amount of aggri while some can maintain a good handsize to defend assault from a less aggro deck. Brandt gate has small hand size because they can't build boards from deck and doesn't have enough draw power to boot. Furthermore it doesn't have enough aggro to pressure the opponent. The draw is locked behind a cb and sb which cb will be needed to imprison 2 rearguard so you lose the opportunity to imprison 2 units for a draw. The only reliable way to maintain handsize is the extra drive, but it requires to have 3 cards in prison while those 3 cards can be retieved for a counter soul and if the deck wen't first opponent can put a g3 or any beater and sb 1 to superior call it giving them some early aggro advantage and canceling the drive +1 on the first G3 turn and potentially kept the pace that you can't get much use of it. If you put down another snow, then maybe it's possible but that means you need to have 2 snow's in hand to persona ride, because without it, the deck lacks pressure to push
I agree to some extent with your point. Considering the other Starter Decks have more consistency and aggro. I'll put Brandt Gate as the third strongest D Start Deck right now, behind Stoicheia and Dark States. But it is still superior to Keter and Dragon Empire.
"A deck that right now is litterally composed of 5 cards doesn't have enough aggro". Damn who would have known that the first 4 cards of the start deck wouldn't have covered every single phase and situation of the game?
@@gabrielepapiri168 well those 5 cards already covered about 37 cards out of 50 and if it has the same treatment as dragon empire who got 4 vanilla cards, then that's about 41 cards out of 50
Yes! I've been so excited to see these cops in action.
Brandt new beginning of an era!
