Had my s3 for over 3years now. Bought it second hand, and am very pleased with it. Battery life recently has only been about 24hrs, which is a bit of a pain. So I fitted a new battery, now around 2 1/2 days. Fairly easy fix, with plenty of TH-cam videos.

That's the info I was hunting for, the battery life expectancy with a new battery. being on for 12 hours, mine say's 2 days, 10 hours and 33 minutes remaining. but it'll die sometime tomorrow. Thanks.

I have had this watch since 2016. It has been in the ocean, desert, forests, rivers, and below freezing temps and has held up like a champ. I work out 5-6 days a week in it as well. Making and taking calls on it is OK at best. Overall very pleased with this watch.

I think i got mine in 2017. At the time they were $450 Aussie dollars! I just happened to come into a shop that had one returned because, get this, the guy who bought it thought it was broken because the screen would never turn off! So they gave me the watch for $300,still in its original box and warranty (which ive never used thank goodness) all because some dork couldn't read the instructions and turn "always on" off! 🤣 🤣 🤣. Anyway it's still going strong. I did notice the bands wear very fast. I had to get a 3rd party job as I wore 3 stock ones out. Anyway great watch. Will wear it until it stops or I find a better one

I'm wearing my S3 Frontier right now.... I've had it for almost 3 years so far, and definitely don't plan to replace it. Works great, looks great. Plenty of memory, lots of apps and watch faces (so many faces!) keeps track of my physical activity and its heart rate monitor is accurate enough. Has been through some rough handling, got submerged a couple times, and has been exposed to extreme weather. Tough, good-looking, hard-working watch.

I purchased this watch used about a year ago, I specifically bought this model because it was the last Samsung watch to feature Samsung pay with the magstripe technology meaning if a store/vendor doesn't have tap to pay you can still use the watch by holding it up to the card stripe reader. Most of the time it works, that was the selling point for me. I have thought about upgrading but I really like this watch and if it ain't broken... I usually keep my screen off, so my battery last 4-5 days.

I bought the S3 Frontier from Amazon Refurbished 2 yrs ago for $100!!!
It was in brand new condition & still is. (Have a case on mine)
Being in my 50's & having heart issues. I love this watch. I wear it fishing while in Saltwater, rain & extremely hot days here in SE Texas & not a single issue to date. I'm still getting 2.5 days of battery life but I just throw it on the charger each night. A great watch for me. Especially for $100 🤟

I've had mine for a few years. Long enough to forget how many, lol. It's been great.
My favorite feature is that it seems to be indestructible.
I wear it to work as an electrician, and I have done my best to do serious damage to it, but I swear, it looks brand new. No scratches, no issues from dirt, mud, and dust. No issues from water. I even take it swimming and it has never been effected by being under water for hours at a time.
It is great little watch, and I'm never getting rid of it, until it dies.

just rebought a s3 frontier and for the 80 bucks i spent on it im happy with it. Battery lasts for about 2 or 3 days does everything a new smart watch can do and it just works. Its defiantly aged well. I havent noticed any lag in mine either.

  • @alexivanov7966

I just pulled my s3 classic out of the drawer. I stopped using it a few years ago because of dismal battery life. the watch died within 2-4 hours and had to be put battery saving mode. However, this time around, there is no such problem. I guess the difference is a different charging cable. It simply didn't charge with a broken cable 😂.
The watch is great BTW, no lags at all, although I don't answer calls. Time, dates, WhatsApp, weather, heart rate, music app, and timer. these are incredibly useful apps

I've had the gear s2, s3 frontier, galaxy watch 3, and now I own a galaxy watch 5 pro. The S3 was my favorite. Having that watch felt like having a smart G Shock ( before they made those lol.) the watch 3 was a direct successor, but I personally felt awkward taking that one on a run as it looked more elegant to me.

If you had battery issues, replace the battery. My gear runs circles around my Apple Watch in terms of battery usage had a Samsung service center replace it when it was giving me issues . I didn’t update the operating system and it doesn’t feel laggy, maybe that’s what did it. Bought mines in 2016 when it first came out while living abroad in Korea

I still have this(better condition than yours lol) and I have been looking at 'upgrading', but maybe not yet. It can (appear to) seize up sometimes as certain apps seem very badly written (I'm looking at you 'couch to 5k') and have added a paid-for gps app to speed up that connecting.. .

I have had this watch for 4 years. On cell alone it wouldn't last a day, combined with my phone I'd have to charge it by 5 if I used it at all. I cannot believe the battery life you guys are talking about, I even owned the bluetooth model, not much better. Don't get me wrong I've loved the watch, but it, both of them battery wise have always been soul draining. I'm at 70% just tracking my sleep, no screen, no wifi, no heart rate every measure that would make this watch convenient or smarter off.

My Frontier is a nice watch but all of the things that it does are not truly beneficial. I don't need to make phone calls through my watch because I have my phone with me. Also I'm always touching my watch and it's trying to change the face because that's what happens when you touch the face of the Samsung!! That's absurd but real.
It does have features that my Pebble watch doesn't have but these features are fancy pointless features. My Pebble did things like pausing and skipping music that I was listening to from TH-cam Pandora Spotify etc. not just the "Samsung" app IN the watch. I miss pebble and some of these smaller brands that got squished out by the big companies like Samsung, Pebble watch for instance didn't do as many fancy things but it did more useful stuff and it did it better. The Samsung looks many times better nicer and more expensive and does pointless things fancier. It doesn't give me good enough access to my phone and it doesn't work solo on its own well enough either so in my view it's pointless and expensive and for people that want to look fancy instead of actually functioning in a meani gful way. It's nice but my simpler watches were simply better because they did what they needed to like Glance at my wrist to see the Time & Date, that's another thing Samsung Frontier watch yes watch, is just not very good at. A watch that you cannot glance at and see the time and the date but you can get the fanciest and most expensive version of how many steps you've taken today and you look like a twat when you're pretending to be Dick Tracy and have phone calls through your wrist watch or try to look at photographs that you've saved to your wrist for some weird reason instead of using your phone would you still have to have with you and which does all of these tasks much much better but the watch does not give you hands-free access to communication and immediately usefull information. It's a good toy for changing the watch face everyday for people that can't keep their mind made up and think that people care WHAT you watch face looks like. It's a toy it's a pretentious expensive fancy annoying fidgety toy for those who want to look rather than those who want to be. And it didn't work dependably until I got a high-end Samsung phone it really did not work dependably with my other Flagship top of the line phones from Google, OnePlus, LG. I miss dependable real usegul function. For quality of housing screen and buttons I give it an A+ but for real world usefulness I gave it a C grade. All of his design emphasis is on fiddling with it not on using it no matter how you cut it all of this design is all based on fiddling with it for the sake of fiddling with it not on using it for the sake of any real information or real purpose it's a toy no question it's a toy. It's designed to repeatedly change watch faces on the Fly but is not designed to give you the time and date when you look at it on most of those faces. It repeatedly pressures you into setting up Samsung pay so you pay them every time you buy something and you can't get that junk out of the way but it's of course the only function of the main button or the top button which is not the main button because of that whether you want it or not you're stuck with it and you can't avoid it except for just never using that button that cannot be reprogrammed or turned off. If you use Bixby it will intrude on every corner of your life and we'll try to push you into the same kind of thing over and over and over in your life tries to make you a robot tries to force you into Obedience of its desired patterns for you to fulfill through your day once you listen the same music over and over create playlist and go to the same places and do the same things every day in the same ways it tries to literally Force boredom and mundane this on you shallow your brain by limiting you to playlist and isolated music genres of popularity and will fight you restricting your more attempts at more personalized and independent taste of your own choices unless they already align with the other mainstream popular music sheep
