  • These commercials aired on Nick on January 29th, 1994
    1. Snick Intro
    2. Home Shopping Club
    3. Children's Trust Fund Of Oregon (I'm not sure what good airing this on Nickelodeon during kids programming would do)
    4. Dunkaroos
    5. Kellogg's Smacks (With free Brach's Rocks)
    6. True Stories From Famous People (With Christina Ricci)
    7. Future Jocks Junk Food PSA (Possibly the most early 90's thing that exists or could ever exist. 3:13 Is eating cotton candy at home really a common junk food snack?)
    8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters for SNES, NES and Genesis (Fun fighting game, but TMNT was basically a dead or dying franchise in 1994 and this did very little to revive interest)
    9. You Can Read!
    10. Snick Commercial Bumpers
    11. Promo for "Legends Of The Hidden Temple"
    12. TV Spot for "Blank Check"
    13. Westlie Ford/Mercury (6:10 and 6:30 *You're)
    14. Vancouver Furniture
    15. Snick Commercial Bumper
    16. "Clarissa Explains It All" End Credits (The VO promo here was obviously played too late)
    17. Snick Commercial Bumper
    18. Promo for "Rocko's Modern Life"
    19. TV Spot for "My Girl 2" (Feels like a sequel that should not exist)
    20. Nickelodeon Magazine (I subscribed to this back then. It was pretty good but no Disney Adventures)
    21. Color Change Micro Machines
    22. Game Genie (I only wish I had been a little bit older so I could have seen the historic Game Genie keynote presentation of 1994 live and in person)
    23. Poetry In Motion: "Pan Rap" by Paul Keens-Douglas
    24. Nick Commercial Bumper
    25. Snick Commercial Bumper
    26. Promo for "Are You Afraid Of The Dark?"
    27. McDonald's
    28. TV Spot for "Ace Ventura Pet Detective" (Cool to post an ad for this movie before Jim Carrey completely blew up that year)
    29. Snick Commercial Bumper

    Snick Intro- Seeing that intro alone in this volume of commercials gives me a huge jolt of nostalgia. Especially seeing the big orange couch at the end. As a kid, I looked forward to watching this block of shows every Saturday night until I went to bed. I even imagined myself sitting on that big orange couch.
    Dunkaroos- I remember eating these back in the day and I'm glad they brought these back in recent years. The only problem I have with them is that they give you far more cookies than the frosting part in that little plastic containers they come in.

    Classic commercials. My TV stayed on Nickelodeon so I remember this set well.

    Rocko's Modern Life is a wonderful show that holds up today. For all the stuff Ren and Stimpy was known for getting away with at the time, Rocko often got away with just as much, with references to phone sex lines and sex motels in episodes. It was much more cleverly written than Ren and Stimpy, though, and had such hilarious writing.

    This is awesome. I grew up in Portland, Oregon, which appears to be around where this aired based on the couple local commercials in the mix.
    January 1994 is definitely one of the eras in my life when we had Cable. I know that for sure because I was in 2nd grade, about to turn 8, and the house we lived in at this time I only lived in for that one year.
    There is a high likelihood I watched this exact broadcast these are from. ❤️

    I got TMNT Tournament Fighters on the SNES for Christmas and I exchanged it for Street Fighter 2 Turbo.

    wow core memory unlocked with 'poetry in motion' I forgot about those! I remember I think we rented the SNES TMNT: Tournament Fighters? definitely did some neat things as a street fighter clone. I picked up the recent TMNT collection so I have them all now, may need to go back to it soon!

    "This man take a pan, with a hammer in he hand..." I haven't thought about that in years, and yet somehow, I remember it now just like it was yesterday.

    I love the early 90s flavor of all the ads even the local ones! Plus yeah that Your/You're thing is a bit screwy!

    5:56 - This scene was not in the final cut of the film, despite appearing in all the commercials.

      It feels like something specifically filmed to be used in a commercial or trailer but never intended to be used in the actual movie.

      @@80sCommercialVault yeah a lot of the older films trailers did that back then and looking back when you buy the DVD versions you can view those scenes

    Children's Trust Fund Of Oregon-Nick got the"mood killer"ads out of the way first
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Tournament Fighters-now available as part of "The Cowabunga Colletion"
    Legends Of The Hidden Temple-shame that the CW revival didnt last long
    Game Genie-wonder if the Bill & Ted wannabes from the original ad were at the presentation..

    A thing about Squanto is that wasn't even his real name, it only shares one syllable with his actual one and I wish more sources corrected that.
    Also 90s Nickelodeon I love you but don't ever tell me to break the junk food again ok!?

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      3:38 The Junk Food PSA was a locally placed ad commissioned by The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Not produced by Nickelodeon.

    • @WilfredCthulu
      @WilfredCthulu ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@80sCommercialVault Oh yeah... Florida Agriculture I have complex feelings on you but never again! Though Nick did air it on their network too so.

    • @80sCommercialVault
      @80sCommercialVault  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      "Locally placed" meaning it was put there by the cable provider in Washington state where these aired. Nickelodeon had no control over what ads were placed by local cable providers.

    TMNT Tournament Fighters for SNES is a great game, but very expensive on the collector's market. Never played the NES or Genesis ones, but I know the NES one is very rare and regarded pretty well for an 8-Bit game, while the Genesis is usually seen as the weakest of the three.
