Kevin was putting away his cello during the intro (Avi’s showcase). He rejoined the group (at one point you see Scott move towards Mitch) for the song, and you can hear him. The fan was just locked onto Mitch. 😏
LOL. Yes that face you made. It was so good you had to make the Ugly face. Kevin was putting his Cello away and you can see a gap between Mitch and Kirstie but when they focus on Avi you can see Mitch and Scott turn to move over to make room for Kevin. You can hear all his wonderful sounds throughout the song. This fan was just focusing on Mitch. LOL.

Ah!! The floor is just not worthy! Kevin was just off screen but was there, you can hear his beat boxing in the back ground. That low note of Avi broke the speakers..I'm thrilled you liked this. It is fire

Mitch was absolutely on fire that night. If I were a betting man, I'd wager that about a dozen people in the front row wet themselves when Mitch crawled to the front of the stage! ;) It also wouldn't surprise me if Avi's power low notes in the intro did some damage to the woofers in the sound system, as a lot of the low end sounded a bit fuzzy after that. Kevin had just finished a cello solo before that, and was putting his cello away during the "Factus Christus Est" intro, but was back for "Aha" (you can definitely hear his beatboxing during the song, but the person taking the video was focused on Mitch since he was the one being featured in the song).. just as Avi is going into his big low note sequence, you can see Mitch and Scott shifting to their right to make room for Kevin coming in.
Avi has broken the speaker's before. It was so funny! Everyone starts screaming then laughing.

Kevin was putting away his cello during that beautiful intro. When you hear that beat kick in he and Avi start going nuts and the whole crew carries the background to Mitch's amazing performance.
I saw them in 2018 live in Ridgefield Washington, they sound exactly the same in concert. Best concert I had ever been to.
Kevin was there. He was putting away his cello during the beginning Latin choral part. But you see that the gap was closed sometime while the camera was on Avi, and you can for sure hear Kevin's beatboxing throughout Aha. The person recording was just focused on Mitch.
Someone once noted that "this performance is brought to you by jetlag and Red Bull." You might enjoy their studio video of this, where the framing device is a ghost story. The original song "Aha!" was by Imogen Heap, a favorite of Mitch.

(I’m sure it’s been mentioned that he had been studying opera), and then Mitch, well, what can you say? Brilliant doesn’t even cover it. At the beginning of the video Kevin was putting his cello away, the song before this Kevin used his cello so when they started doing this song Kevin was putting his cello away, he was back on stage just after Avi did his bit, Kevin was next to Scott, the person who was filming this on their phone didn’t bring the camera out far enough to show Kevin
Kevin was there putting the Cello away at the beginning of the song. While the camera is panning toward Avi, you can see Mitch moving closer to Kirstin so Scott could go to the area Mitch had just moved from and make room for Kevin. But Yeah that was an incredible performance! Hell Yeah! You're "Disgrossting" face is priceless! 😆

Kevin’s beatboxing in this is just 🔥 I really wish the individual recording this would have panned over to him, but regardless they all just killed this. The syncopated vocals.....ahhhhh!!

YAAAAAASSSS! Been waiting for this reaction! And I'm first to comment?! Love your stuff Syd 💜 It was totally disgrosting! Kevin had just finished playing a cello piece before this song, and was putting it away as they began the choral part. When he returned to the stage, he was to the right of Scott and out of camera view. But you CAN hear him throughout the performance.

This was right after Kevin's cello-boxing solo. He's putting his instrument away - you can hear him come in later in the audio, though he doesn't appear on the video.
Kevin had just done a performance on his cello & was putting it away during the intro, which didn't need him. He came back onstage just after the intro, when you see that Mitch & Scott shifted closer to Kirstie, but the person filming was a Mitch fan & was really concentrating on zooming in on him by that point. (They only went back to Avi momentarily when Mitch pointed at him.) That's when you hear the percussion sounds start & Kirstie & Scott's background gets a bit more prominent too. But the camera never went all the way to the right side of the stage again, so Kevin is cut out of the shot even though he's there. Mitch & Avi were truly the stars of this song, with Avi repeatedly going so low he was blowing out the speakers & Mitch hitting all the high notes perfectly & going up & down like it was nothing. 😍 Of course the other 3 were doing their supporting parts perfectly too, but this was Mitch & Avi's turn as the "leads". As good as it sounded on that person's phone, I would have loved to hear it in person. Everyone in the audience was so lucky.
They are going to Singapore again for tour, and expectations are high for Aha. Also, please watch Run to You live. Sarah Beth Boss filmed the best version I've ever heard.
This performance was MIND BLOWING!!! Mitch's vocals are out of this world. You should check out Superfruit. Its Mitch and Scott together.

There's a second performance from that night that's really worth watching. They do their Telephone cover, which was their audition song for the Sing Off.

That was a great version of Shawn Stockman's "ugly face"! This video should be sub-titled "Where's Kevin?". It's weird seeing them perform with only 4 people. That space between Mitch and Kirstie at the beginning - Kevin had been sitting there playing cello for the prior song and stepped offstage to put it away. As Avi begins his megaton drop at the beginning of Aha! you see Mitch turn and walk to the middle of the stage. Scott followed him and Kevin took Scott's place at the far right. It's so sad that the video taker never pulled back enough to show Kevin, but you can sure hear him. All those rattles and whooshes and frenetic beats are Kevin going crazy. This is a great example of the depth Avi brought to the group. The choral part at the beginning was a piece he knew and arranged, and his bass part just pounds through it all. So glad you did this, finally!

Kevin had to put his cello from stage, but returned later. You can hear his beat boxing. Btw. Avi did overtone singing in the beginning, thats why the speakers didn't recover. At overtone dining, you sing 2 different tones at the same time. Some people can do it.

You would know the proper terms but as I remember them, Avi is a sub bass and had overtune. Meaning that he can go so low that he can blow out speakers. And the overtune, or however you say the word, he can sing two notes at one time. Avi was trained as an opera singer.

At the beginning of the performance Kevin was putting away his cello, Beyoncé...so he was not on stage but joined him after the choral intro. You can totally hear is beatboxing during the main performance even though he is not shown. I can totally relate to your face at the end, it was “discorsting”

That was ... the Mitch and Avi show. Although, Kevin's beats were fantastic in the background, as was Scott's and Kirsten's syncopated vocals. At the beginning of the video, Kevin was putting away his cello. However, just before Avi's string of low notes, you see Mitch and Scott move to their right to make room for him. The camera person thought was focused on Mitch and never panned over to Kevin at the far end of the stage.

Note the speaker reverb off and on throughout from Avi's bass. The person recording this didn't have a speaker that can handle that kind of bass. Isn't it funny that the better we like it the more awful face we make? LOL
