Hi Geoff, if you're reading this! I'm a speech-language pathologist and it sounds like you have a very normal way of saying "cry" and "crunch." That said, it sounds like you and Kayla were demonstrating a slight spirantization of the "c" (which is making the sound that linguists denote with the symbol /k/) when it occurred before /r/. Spirantization is basically just taking a sound that normally completely precludes airflow and changing it to allow some air during the sound. I'd be interested to know whether you spirantize your /k/ before /l/ sounds too (like in the word "clue"), since /l/ and /r/ are in the same family of sounds (liquids). If so, we could write a rule to describe this process as the following: {k} --> [+continuant] / ____ [+liquid]. That is, your /k/ sound allows for continuous airflow when it comes directly before a liquid (which includes /l/ and /r/).

this podcast is like a cargo ship stuck in the suez canal. it's kind of funny at the time but actually has severe negative consequences for society worldwide
I miss when Geoff was more engaged with the show. He had all these ideas of what he wanted to do with it
Truly the guests are getting better and better each week, bringing more and more to the table, which is a shame because if they weren't propping up Geoff's deteriorating ass we could wrap this podcast up already

Ask Geoff brought up more problems than resolved them. Just like this podcast makes my fridays worse but I still come back for more. My mind's poisoned by this and I don't know how to climb out. 10/10 great ep.

i saw a tiktok (i think) one time where this person had bought this machine where you use whatever liquid you want and it makes it into pasta dough or something? and they tried a bunch of liquids and a lot of them sucked they made one batch of pasta with strawberry milk and served it with (iirc) cut up strawberries and whipped cream and apparently it was really good.
This was the best podcast yet and it was still the worst part of my week. Thank you?
I hate sugar in tomato sauce tbh. The best way to cut the acidity is to fry some onions, carrots and celery before you dump your sauce in the pot. Much more of a hearty flavour imo🔥

Maybe don’t minimize the chat to just show one picture on the screen while you continue to wax
