There is one BBC comedy DVD that I would recommend to you Shane if you don't have it already now, and that's Citizen Khan, I have all 5 series (from 2012 to 2016, although the 2016 Christmas special wasn't released on DVD for some reason, the episodes were originally broadcast) on DVD, and the episodes are really hilarious! I remember watching all the episodes when they were shown on BBC 1 as well (and I think, like loads of other BBC sitcoms they are repeated on GOLD if you have that as well, i think the only BBC sitcom to not be repeated on GOLD might be Outnumbered, which I have the first 2 series of on DVD), and also I’ve added another BBC sitcom to my collection - that sitcom being My Family, the first few series were released by VCI (despite having the BBC and 2Entertain logos on the cover), but the later series were released by 2Entertain and the BBC
And I think I know what the last UK BBC DVD to have the ribbons ident (also known as the 1997 BBC Video ident of course) Shane - I’m highly guessing it was the My Family series 9 DVD (which I myself have) as this was released on 25th May 2009, and I have a Outnumbered (series 2 I think) DVD that was released later on in 2009 that has the purple box BBC ident at the start
8:30 I have the complete series in a box set. A disclaimer, the individual releases of The Young Ones on DVD (series 1 and 2) have some of the episodes cut for licensing reasons, the complete series set to my knowledge is completely uncut and it's only around a tenner. The same applies to Only Fools and Horses but stupidly you can't get Fools and Horses uncut unless you taped them all off TV when they were first shown.
Hi Shane, does your copy of Bottom Series 1 DVD have a language option menu and a trailer for other BBC DVDs that were out at the time that DVD was released (late 2003) such as The Office series 2 and EastEnders : Slaters in Detention? I also got it in a boxset with the other 2 series for Xmas. I also got Steptoe and Son, One Foot in the Grave and The Young Ones DVD boxsets for Xmas as well and I’m just wondering do you have them DVD boxsets as well Shane????
