She Left state, willingly gave her kids up legally, and didn’t contribute at all to their well being. Idc what that Lawyer said she doesn’t have a case.
OP should not resume a marriage with someone who would drop everything on an emotional whim. But legally he can’t stop her from having visitations with the children but don’t let her get legal custody. And don’t let her getaway with any emotional division between you and the children. Her legal threats are hollow.
Op is 100% justified to go no contact with his ex, had it just been the job I'd say therapy as care giving can be rough. But what she did was abandone her family and chose selfishness.
She wanted freedom. She wanted another man/men with an exciting new life. Posting her new life online. She went so far as to voluntarily give up her parental rights in the divorce to live that life w/o responsibility. Pure selfish actions that deserves consequences. When it fell apart, she tried to get back her "Safe" backup plan. While she may have the right to be the kids mom again, there's no way she should get more than visitation. Her actions show she is not fit to be the primary custodial parent. NTA
OP why where you continuing to entertain her, it was very plain and simple, you've been the primary parent, for however long she's been gone. Go get full custody and be done with it period. Bc every time you kept communicating, it was giving me , possible SIMP vibes. Actually she did you a favor by asking for the divorce,bc in some states debit is considered both parties period. So if you split make sure you are divorced not separated.
Too many people try to gamble everything they have that is good and stable in their lives to follow whims. The problem is that when you gamble and lose, you have to pay. It's the paying part that so many people hope they can weasel out of. Don't want to lose everything? Don't gamble with it. All that needs to be told to a woman like the one in the story is that she gambled, she lost, and now she has to pay somehow, and the best way is for her to just go away and leave the family to rebuild in peace. No other payment for that debt is adequate.
She made selfish decisions? You won’t even consider for a moment moving for her dreams. She supported you and your business for years because it was your dream. You resented the time you suddenly had to spend on your kids and parents. Did you help her see her children by traveling to her? YTA also.
I agree.. she wanted to pursue her dream career and he was not supportive at all. Just bolting down in the same place, people move for work all the time along with their kids and he wasn't budging. She should have made more effort with the visit and stuck to her word when she said she would visit.
AITA for not taking back my wife after she abandoned our family for her career dream?

Empty promises? More like threats.

She wanted to olay the luxury 304 lifestyle and failed miserably.

@@Mia-dt3glNot really.. she wanted them all to move out there with her but the husband wouldn't budge.
@@hazeieris4478 what do you call her never visiting her children and not paying child support?
This comment is beyond disgusting.
