Disney's Animal Kingdom Early Morning Fun During Spring Break! | Best Breakfast, Safari & Everest!

- In today’s vlog we take an early morning trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom! It’s the beginning of Spring Break here in Orlando so we wanted to see how crowded the park would be and what the wait times were like. We started the day with breakfast at the Yak & Yeti quick serve, which was actually one of the best quick service breakfasts I’ve had the parks! We had the bacon & egg bowl, the sausage & pancake on a stick and the breakfast potatoes. Delicious! Then we try 2 new snacks! We also ride Expedition Everest, this is the first time in year that I've been on this roller coaster and boy did I miss it! We also have an awesome ride on the Kilimanjaro Safaris, I learned so many new facts! All in all, it was a fantastic day! I hope you enjoyed hanging out with us today! I've been reading a series of books called Hidden Secrets of Disney World. One of the things about animal kingdom is they wanted to be known for conservation and recycling. All of the benches throughout the entire park are made out of recycled milk jugs. Pretty cool!
Who wrote the books? Sounds like something I’d be interested in!

Tim, that sound on the roller coaster was the train engaging the anti-rollbacks on the lift hill. It is one of the many safety measures on roller coasters and prevent you from falling backwards on the lift hill if the ride stops :)
Isn’t it the chain hook? Since it didn’t click all the way ?
@@StijnNLDutch eh yes and no. The continuous clicking noise is another hook clicking against the anti rollback pieces and then the motor kinda sound is the actual lift chain moving

Yea, it makes a huge difference when you have a guide that is extremely passionate and knowledgeable. Whenever I've done private tours, I always request the guide whom is the most knowledgeable. I say this not to offend, but I tell the organizer that I will ask a million questions and that I'm extremely interested in learning about whatever subject. Sure enough, they pair me with the best. It makes a difference in the experience.

I remember I got to be a tester for Expedition Everest a couple of years before it opened. The Yeti was still working then lol. I was just in the park on the right day at the right time.

We love going to that quick service for breakfast! It's usually quiet and the seating usually has good shade if it's hot out early.

My husband and I just spent a week at Disney for our honeymoon. When we rode Everest, he said the EXACT same thing about that bird!! We tried our hand at vlogging, so it's on our video! Always love your videos. But we're a week behind! Time to catch up now!!

Wow that Safari was so informative especially about the palm oil.
Loved that you bought the shirt as promised and wore it. (That was the jump clip with Jen from a previous video.)
The noises are anti rollback mechanisms. So if it stops on the lift it’s stops you from rolling back down
It is also the sound of the chaindog aka the thing that actually holds the train on the chain. As the train runs up the first part of the hill, it is faster than the chain itself so the chaindog skips over a few bits of chain. Anti roll back these days is pretty quiet, as the anti rollback dog is only engaged once the train slows down. Works with magnets powered by the train moving holding the anti rollback dog up.
Top tip for quick breakfast is the counter serve snack location next to Expedition Everest. Not on their regular menu but they put out a sandwich board on the sidewalk in the morning when they have simple breakfast biscuit sandwiches. Very good and affordable. Usually no line too.

If you head to Expedition Everest right when the park opens you can usually get multiple rides in with little to no wait. When we went a few weeks back we were able to ride 5 times in the first 30 minutes the park was open before the lone started to back up.
THE ICE CREAM SANDWICH LOOKS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!
Those noises on Everest is the "chain dog" attaching itself to the chain. Since the train is moving faster than the chain during those segments, it "clicks" over the chain before it falls in and locks onto the chain. Same thing at the top of the hill, the train pulls the rest of the train over, thus disengaging the chain dog from the chain, and having it move over the chain more rapidly.
Also that bird is called Bird on a Stick!

This was a great video. I love that you zoomed in on some of the animals. I agree...your Safari cast member was excellent. I especially loved seeing the snoozing gorilla on your walk out of gorilla falls.

The bird on Expedition Everest is like an Easter egg. It only pops up every so often not every ride! so cool you got to see it, I always watch when you guys ride to see if it pops up!
That safari guide was awesome! I don't ever remember hearing about the fact that a hippos brain is "wired" to have them come up automatically for air while they're asleep in the water. I believe we were on the same safaris truck as Tim and didn’t see him on there. ☹️. But we did see him walk past us while we were in line and yelled out to him and he turned and waved. Very cool. Of course I didn’t have my camera ready. But still cool.

The loud clattering sound going up the lift of Everest (or any coaster) is the Anti-Rollback Device. It basically prevents the train from rolling back (hence the name) down the lift in the event the coaster were to loose power as you were going up or the chain were to suddenly snap/break.

I remember 8 year old me and my dad got asked if we wanted to test ride expedition Everest back in feb 2006 🤯 that was 15 years ago 😱 #ifeelold
The noise is the chain dog hitting the anti roll back. Basically a metal bar that hits metal slanted up so that if the chain lift where to fail or they need the ride to stop for emergency the chain dog would hit the metal and stop it from going backwards. Hopefully that makes sense
That breakfast looked amazing and yes those breakfast sausages on a stick are so good especially if they are maple so yummy!!! And ooooh those dessert treats looked so good!!! I thought the St. Patrick's Day cookie had gold in it! That's what it looked like to me and oh did you finish the other dessert tho lol? and WOW!!! Those goats were so cute and yeah I wasn't even on the safari ride and she was amazing those were awesome facts!!! When she talked about the pink pelican's way of cooling of is by sticking their spines out their mouths I was like WHAT?! Lol but yes very good trip I would agree!!! And YAY YOU GOT THE YETI SHIRT AND WENT BACK TO THE STICKER!!!

Cool to see what that building was for on the safari. It was just the building and nothing else when you guys last went with Jackson! Looks like there’s a lot of great vertical space for those goats to play on.
