I'm gonna be starting college soon in January. I can't believe I actually made it to this point in my life. I never expected to live to see the day I get accepted into college yet here I am. I never really expected things to go smoothly this year seeing how much of a shit show it is. I've had to drop close friends who turned toxic and abusive and dealt with a few heartbreaks but I'm finally breaking through in life. I genuinely have no one to make proud other than myself and I continue to surprise myself everyday and strive to reach my true potential. I'm happy this way and honestly, I couldn't ask for a better life than my own.
This is so true. I, and we all, have SO MANY memories of playing this game with friends or even alone, those were the good times, when everything was simple.. Damn
Im gonna say it: Minecraft is one of the greatest accomplishments in gaming history. Just think about it, so many games try so hard to distract you with bullshit mechanics and RNG and gambling systems, yet Minecraft has never tried to addict their players in any sort of cheap way or treat the players as if they're stupid. If you ever started playing while knowing absolutely nothing about the games, you'd realize that EVERYTHING was a mystery. Even when you think you've figured everything out, another mystery pops up in your head: "I wonder what this redstone does", "I wonder how deep this cave goes", "I wonder if there are OTHER places I can visit", "I wonder what other pets can I own", etc etc. This game also just pushes EVERYONE to be creative in their own way and shape their own world. It teaches people to manage their supplies and to invest into things to make their lives in the future easier, such as farming, creating railways to get from point A to B faster, and so on. I can't even really say how I feel about this game and do it justice which just upsets honestly. This game has done so much for my childhood and has helped me connect with so many people and has managed to make me love doing creative things and love the idea of managing my own stuff. Im happy I got to experience MC as a kid. Now I move forwards. Thank you, Notch, as strange of a person as you are, you did create something truly spectacular.
i want to add: there is no set way to play minecraft “correctly” which is what makes it so fun. yes of course you can go to the end and defeat the ender dragon but the game doesnt force you to. you can play survival peacefully and just build yourself a house and maybe a farm or you can speedrun the game and try to defeat the dragon as fast as possible or you could build incredibke structures in creative. you cant let anyone tell you “you’re playing it wrong” because there IS NO WRONG way to play. its also a game that is constantly being updated and added to making players stay interested in the new features and explore new things added into the game. this keeps players interest for very long. i personally have been playing since 2015 amd still enjoy playing to this day. its also available on pretty much every single platform and is cross platform for bedrock making it easy to play on what you have with friends. they also gave the opportunity to early java players to get bedrock for free on windows 10 around two years ago which is how i managed to play with my friends. i personally like to play survival with my friends and we started earlier this week and i already have some netherite stuff and we are currently looking for a nether fortress for blaze rods. it makes me happy to be able to play with my friends during halloween break.
You make a great point I don’t think that anyone will ever be able to truly make an open-world game like Minecraft again. The comfort and simplicity of the game is outstanding. Comparing this game to my personal favourite open world, Breath of the Wild, there’s this unmistakable charm to MC that just doesn’t go away as you grow. Because though I cry like an infant girl every time I hear the Botw main theme, and though I’ve put in so many hours that my switch stopped counting, and though I know every secret and every hack and every glitch and every Easter egg, I still somehow value the handful of hours I spent playing MC in the last few years more. Because we all remember being 7, waking up at the crack of dawn so we could get to the 360 before our brother and playing for as many hours as your parents would allow straight. Being so immersed that you suddenly realize you’re about to pee your pants and have to claw your way to the washroom. I, among many others I’m sure, can’t play this game anymore as I’ve grown. The creativity and patience required has since evaded me, and the carefree nature of the game has turned into a checklist of goals for me instead of just... pick up the controller and play. And it pains me to have to put my controller to rest. This really is the bittersweet end to a timeless game. I’m not even an adult yet, and still I yearn to go back to when my homework for the day was spelling “O r a n g e”, when I would break my ankle and use that to find every way possible to do the most ridiculous things with my crutches, when I could play Minecraft with that same wonder. And I’m sure I’m not alone.
I love games that don't have in-app purchases that give advantages, sometimes I like games that offer cosmetic items that cost real money though, but I love that Minecraft doesn't have in-app purchases (well, aside from the console editions, but I still love Minecraft on console)
Agreed... I don't really know how to explain it, but minecraft's soundtrack gives you some kinda vibe(both nostalgic and chilling, like everything is gonna be okay) I wanna record this on my good old tape, so it's gonna be cool I guess
It IS a game, but not just that. It's something different to everyone. To some people, it's an art form. To some people it's a programming language. To some, it's a music creator. To some, it may just be a game. To others, it's a place to get together with friends and just have fun. That's what I love about this game. There's so many people with so many ways to play it, and sometimes I just try another playstyle out just to see if I can do well or if I like it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, every time I have fun.
For me, there will never be another experience like Minecraft. The joy and pure euphoria I'd never felt before and haven't felt since. It's a long story but in short, is the only thing I liked that everyone else liked at the time. Then everyone I was close to and played with moved away and/ or grew apart. and since then everything's been lonely and I've never been able to recreate that feeling with anything I've tried. It feels like life has climaxed and it's all going downhill. but the memories r nice. Though joshdubs videos do help alot

Life was perfect in 2012, had good childhood friends, family members were still around, games were fun and simple, and not a single stress or worry in the world. My dog was still around, and things were warm and happy. I legit started crying listening to this. All the memories came back to me, when life was easier , i was happy and had no worries in life . I got on with my friends played for hours a day. We laughed , argued , cryed , talked , we had so much fun. I would do anything to relive those moments of pure happiness. I miss those times.

You click the app thinking about what you will do next. You get up from your chair and go get a blanket and hot chocolate. You sit down onto your chair determined to build and explore. You see the Minecraft main screen. You click single player, “My World.” You remember that you made this world in 2013 and throughout all the years, you kept building and exploring. You enter the world with all of your OP gear that you have gained throughout the time played. Sometimes I just need some of this nostalgia. This dude who made this video really brings back memories when I was younger. Thanks, your an absolute legend.

When I hear this... I really wanna cry. Back in 2014 when I had 13 years, me and a Friend (one of my best friends in school) used to play Minecraft a lot. A LOT, our favorite versions where 1.4.5 and 1.5.2, the last one I played. The thing is... as time went on, he wanted to be more; be a better student, while I was always just... enjoying life, passing grandes barely. This led to us having less time, because he studied more and more. I always wanted to play again with him or hang out to play in our consoles, but he always told me "Next time" Recently, I tried once again to contact him and ask him if he wanted to play minecraft, because I finally brought it again... and he told me he did not, that we ended up growing to become different persons, that hanging out again would be painful for both him and me, because our likings weren't the same anymore, and our interest in games either. He said we could still talk, and things like that, but that we should never see eachother in person again due to pain... I lost one of my best friends, just because he wanted to part ways... In a way, when I play minecraft nowadays... I feel more alone than ever before.
My little 4 year old brother has gotten into Minecraft and made his first diamond house in creative, this game will live for many generations to come, I promise you that

This brings back so many memories. Staying up late at my cousins house building my first jungle cabin, walking around with my friends and my first bf in the tiny town we grew up in, heading to the community center where we played Minecraft as long as we could, playing it with my little sister every morning we had to go to daycare before school.. Lmao we put the torches too close to the ceiling and burnt it down while we were out looking for resources. Frustrating at the time but hilarious in hindsight. One of the first games I played with my current boyfriend back in highschool before we knew we were more than friends.. This music is the best, most bittersweet kind of nastolgia.
Dear Minecraft, I remember begging my mom for 3 years to get Minecraft on my tablet, and we did :)! Me and my twin would be fighting constantly to use the tablet to play the game. When we got our own phones we instantly downloaded Minecraft and played together and with our cousins. I would be raging on the discord call because they keep spawn killing me and stealing my ores but it was fun :). I might not be a true gamer because I don’t play java edition but Minecraft gave me memories =u= and my childhood. Thank you Minecraft for giving me a great time

Something about Mice on Venus ( 22:40-23:00 ) just brings out those waterworks like nothing else. The nostalgia of being eight years old and watching Shadow of Israphel, being too scared of cave noises to go mining, and taming every wolf I came across just hits different.

I'm 37. I play since its release. My son introduced me to it. Ive always been a gamer since young age and as a mom too, but not to fond of games like this. I remember that date, the emotion, though it was so bland and simple when it first came out. We played for hours, every day. Then had more kids, and they grew up, we spent the sundays afternoon playing all together, so many adventures, looking for each other in caves while mining. Its been such a long journey, and so beautiful since it was something that I'd shared with my kids while I saw how they grew up beautifully. Now, me 37, my eldest 18, we still play.
I'm gonna be honest here, I've cried listening to Minecraft music, remembering the good times I had with friends, with my brother, and even alone. Nostalgia has hit like a truck tonight, and I'm hoping that Nostalgia can keep me happy for the time being, remembering these moments. I've started playing again, and it's the most fun I've had since 2020 started. I've had ups and downs over the past 5 years, but Minecraft is the thing I always fall back to, and it pushes me back up. It was 2018, all my family in my house. All my cousings and my brother playing minecraft from their phones and tablets... I remember all of them playing on the bed while they were laughting and enjoying the time.. i used to hate those times because they did never give me the oportunity to play with them. I have almost always played this game alone because i didn't have someone to play with... I always liked this music but when i was 8 i didn't realize the beauty of this game. Now, im 14 now and im still playing minecraft sometimes alone, and, i know im still youth but i also know 8 years old me would be confused if i tell her that i really miss those times, even if i didn't have the oportunity to play with them. Now we are all disperse through all the world, and its when this songs hits really heavy. I just wish those times could get back and watch them playing all together at least one more time.

This reminds me of my time playing Minecraft during the winter time. My friends would come over, we'd have fireplace ambience on the TV and we'd be playing Minecraft in the other room. I miss it so much. Going back to where I used to live always gives me such a weird feeling. I'm happy for the memories but sad that it ended. Thanks to everyone who helped create memories with me :')

I was so young when I heard this beautiful music coming through my tv. I just got Minecraft for my Xbox 360 I take fall damage and my character goes “ough”. I’m sat there playing Minecraft I was still afraid of wolves this music playing ever so silently in the background calms the mood. With my dirt shack underground i get enough courage to finally go mining. I reach a ravine through a cave that I took and I fall into some water, zombies are down there but with some swift hits there dead I’m only at three hunger bars, So I eat some rotten flesh. Then I sign off and go eat then go to bed then play more. That was in 2014. I can say I have been playing Minecraft for about to be 7 years now. If I had to pick anything to sum up the best moments of growing up to my current age, I would say “Minecraft” without hesitation. Out of all the open world games I’ve ever played, it’s the best by a long shot. In my opinion, the game has barely any to no flaws. Even the soundtrack is truly art. I remember when I was very little and I was scared to play on survival mode because of the mobs. I learned how to make detailed builds on flat worlds because of it, and those countless hours spent just building sparked my creativity as an artist and writer. I hope Minecraft is never forgotten, but if it is, I’ll always come back to this video when I need to calm down or relax. This game shaped who I am. It helped me open up and make friends, and I’m so glad I was able to grow up and just lose myself in my own little world without worrying about main quests or leveling up. Just... building and moving forward. I always loved letting go of reality, and enjoyed. being the creator of a whole world. So thank you, Notch, for this wonderfully beautiful sandbox game. Thank you for the golden days of my childhood and the childhoods of countless others. Minecraft will never be “just a game” to us.

I'm gonna be starting college soon in January. I can't believe I actually made it to this point in my life. I never expected to live to see the day I get accepted into college yet here I am. I never really expected things to go smoothly this year seeing how much of a shit show it is. I've had to drop close friends who turned toxic and abusive and dealt with a few heartbreaks but I'm finally breaking through in life. I genuinely have no one to make proud other than myself and I continue to surprise myself everyday and strive to reach my true potential. I'm happy this way and honestly, I couldn't ask for a better life than my own.

Im gonna say it: Minecraft is one of the greatest accomplishments in gaming history.
Just think about it, so many games try so hard to distract you with bullshit mechanics and RNG and gambling systems, yet Minecraft has never tried to addict their players in any sort of cheap way or treat the players as if they're stupid. If you ever started playing while knowing absolutely nothing about the games, you'd realize that EVERYTHING was a mystery.
Even when you think you've figured everything out, another mystery pops up in your head: "I wonder what this redstone does", "I wonder how deep this cave goes", "I wonder if there are OTHER places I can visit", "I wonder what other pets can I own", etc etc. This game also just pushes EVERYONE to be creative in their own way and shape their own world. It teaches people to manage their supplies and to invest into things to make their lives in the future easier, such as farming, creating railways to get from point A to B faster, and so on.
I can't even really say how I feel about this game and do it justice which just upsets honestly. This game has done so much for my childhood and has helped me connect with so many people and has managed to make me love doing creative things and love the idea of managing my own stuff. Im happy I got to experience MC as a kid. Now I move forwards. Thank you, Notch, as strange of a person as you are, you did create something truly spectacular.
i want to add:
there is no set way to play minecraft “correctly” which is what makes it so fun. yes of course you can go to the end and defeat the ender dragon but the game doesnt force you to. you can play survival peacefully and just build yourself a house and maybe a farm or you can speedrun the game and try to defeat the dragon as fast as possible or you could build incredibke structures in creative. you cant let anyone tell you “you’re playing it wrong” because there IS NO WRONG way to play.
its also a game that is constantly being updated and added to making players stay interested in the new features and explore new things added into the game. this keeps players interest for very long. i personally have been playing since 2015 amd still enjoy playing to this day.
its also available on pretty much every single platform and is cross platform for bedrock making it easy to play on what you have with friends. they also gave the opportunity to early java players to get bedrock for free on windows 10 around two years ago which is how i managed to play with my friends.
i personally like to play survival with my friends and we started earlier this week and i already have some netherite stuff and we are currently looking for a nether fortress for blaze rods. it makes me happy to be able to play with my friends during halloween break.

I don’t think that anyone will ever be able to truly make an open-world game like Minecraft again. The comfort and simplicity of the game is outstanding.
Comparing this game to my personal favourite open world, Breath of the Wild, there’s this unmistakable charm to MC that just doesn’t go away as you grow. Because though I cry like an infant girl every time I hear the Botw main theme, and though I’ve put in so many hours that my switch stopped counting, and though I know every secret and every hack and every glitch and every Easter egg, I still somehow value the handful of hours I spent playing MC in the last few years more.
Because we all remember being 7, waking up at the crack of dawn so we could get to the 360 before our brother and playing for as many hours as your parents would allow straight. Being so immersed that you suddenly realize you’re about to pee your pants and have to claw your way to the washroom.
I, among many others I’m sure, can’t play this game anymore as I’ve grown. The creativity and patience required has since evaded me, and the carefree nature of the game has turned into a checklist of goals for me instead of just... pick up the controller and play.
And it pains me to have to put my controller to rest.
This really is the bittersweet end to a timeless game. I’m not even an adult yet, and still I yearn to go back to when my homework for the day was spelling “O r a n g e”, when I would break my ankle and use that to find every way possible to do the most ridiculous things with my crutches,
when I could play Minecraft with that same wonder.
And I’m sure I’m not alone.
I love games that don't have in-app purchases that give advantages, sometimes I like games that offer cosmetic items that cost real money though, but I love that Minecraft doesn't have in-app purchases (well, aside from the console editions, but I still love Minecraft on console)

It IS a game, but not just that. It's something different to everyone. To some people, it's an art form. To some people it's a programming language. To some, it's a music creator. To some, it may just be a game. To others, it's a place to get together with friends and just have fun. That's what I love about this game. There's so many people with so many ways to play it, and sometimes I just try another playstyle out just to see if I can do well or if I like it. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, every time I have fun.

For me, there will never be another experience like Minecraft. The joy and pure euphoria I'd never felt before and haven't felt since. It's a long story but in short, is the only thing I liked that everyone else liked at the time. Then everyone I was close to and played with moved away and/ or grew apart. and since then everything's been lonely and I've never been able to recreate that feeling with anything I've tried. It feels like life has climaxed and it's all going downhill. but the memories r nice.

I legit started crying listening to this. All the memories came back to me, when life was easier , i was happy and had no worries in life . I got on with my friends played for hours a day. We laughed , argued , cryed , talked , we had so much fun. I would do anything to relive those moments of pure happiness. I miss those times.

You get up from your chair and go get a blanket and hot chocolate. You sit down onto your chair determined to build and explore. You see the Minecraft main screen. You click single player, “My World.”
You remember that you made this world in 2013 and throughout all the years, you kept building and exploring. You enter the world with all of your OP gear that you have gained throughout the time played.

When I hear this... I really wanna cry. Back in 2014 when I had 13 years, me and a Friend (one of my best friends in school) used to play Minecraft a lot. A LOT, our favorite versions where 1.4.5 and 1.5.2, the last one I played. The thing is... as time went on, he wanted to be more; be a better student, while I was always just... enjoying life, passing grandes barely. This led to us having less time, because he studied more and more. I always wanted to play again with him or hang out to play in our consoles, but he always told me "Next time"
Recently, I tried once again to contact him and ask him if he wanted to play minecraft, because I finally brought it again... and he told me he did not, that we ended up growing to become different persons, that hanging out again would be painful for both him and me, because our likings weren't the same anymore, and our interest in games either. He said we could still talk, and things like that, but that we should never see eachother in person again due to pain...
I lost one of my best friends, just because he wanted to part ways... In a way, when I play minecraft nowadays... I feel more alone than ever before.

This brings back so many memories. Staying up late at my cousins house building my first jungle cabin, walking around with my friends and my first bf in the tiny town we grew up in, heading to the community center where we played Minecraft as long as we could, playing it with my little sister every morning we had to go to daycare before school.. Lmao we put the torches too close to the ceiling and burnt it down while we were out looking for resources. Frustrating at the time but hilarious in hindsight. One of the first games I played with my current boyfriend back in highschool before we knew we were more than friends.. This music is the best, most bittersweet kind of nastolgia.

I remember begging my mom for 3 years to get Minecraft on my tablet, and we did :)! Me and my twin would be fighting constantly to use the tablet to play the game. When we got our own phones we instantly downloaded Minecraft and played together and with our cousins. I would be raging on the discord call because they keep spawn killing me and stealing my ores but it was fun :). I might not be a true gamer because I don’t play java edition but Minecraft gave me memories =u= and my childhood. Thank you Minecraft for giving me a great time

Something about Mice on Venus ( 22:40-23:00 ) just brings out those waterworks like nothing else. The nostalgia of being eight years old and watching Shadow of Israphel, being too scared of cave noises to go mining, and taming every wolf I came across just hits different.

I'm 37. I play since its release. My son introduced me to it. Ive always been a gamer since young age and as a mom too, but not to fond of games like this. I remember that date, the emotion, though it was so bland and simple when it first came out. We played for hours, every day. Then had more kids, and they grew up, we spent the sundays afternoon playing all together, so many adventures, looking for each other in caves while mining. Its been such a long journey, and so beautiful since it was something that I'd shared with my kids while I saw how they grew up beautifully. Now, me 37, my eldest 18, we still play.
I'm gonna be honest here, I've cried listening to Minecraft music, remembering the good times I had with friends, with my brother, and even alone. Nostalgia has hit like a truck tonight, and I'm hoping that Nostalgia can keep me happy for the time being, remembering these moments. I've started playing again, and it's the most fun I've had since 2020 started. I've had ups and downs over the past 5 years, but Minecraft is the thing I always fall back to, and it pushes me back up. It was 2018, all my family in my house. All my cousings and my brother playing minecraft from their phones and tablets... I remember all of them playing on the bed while they were laughting and enjoying the time.. i used to hate those times because they did never give me the oportunity to play with them. I have almost always played this game alone because i didn't have someone to play with... I always liked this music but when i was 8 i didn't realize the beauty of this game. Now, im 14 now and im still playing minecraft sometimes alone, and, i know im still youth but i also know 8 years old me would be confused if i tell her that i really miss those times, even if i didn't have the oportunity to play with them. Now we are all disperse through all the world, and its when this songs hits really heavy. I just wish those times could get back and watch them playing all together at least one more time.

This takes me back to 2012-2013 when Minecraft was all the rage and we were just innocent kids having fun, not knowing we were making memories we’d hold on to forever. I wish we could do it all over again.

These songs give me so many memories ..... before, this stress did not exist, we had so much time to play Minecraft, there were still those friends who are no longer there, these songs remind me of my childhood, the only thing I worried about was getting to school early , I miss those days.....

This reminds me of my time playing Minecraft during the winter time. My friends would come over, we'd have fireplace ambience on the TV and we'd be playing Minecraft in the other room. I miss it so much. Going back to where I used to live always gives me such a weird feeling. I'm happy for the memories but sad that it ended. Thanks to everyone who helped create memories with me :')

I take fall damage and my character goes “ough”.
I’m sat there playing Minecraft I was still afraid of wolves this music playing ever so silently in the background calms the mood.
With my dirt shack underground i get enough courage to finally go mining.
I reach a ravine through a cave that I took and I fall into some water, zombies are down there but with some swift hits there dead I’m only at three hunger bars,
So I eat some rotten flesh.
Then I sign off and go eat then go to bed then play more.
That was in 2014.
I can say I have been playing Minecraft for about to be 7 years now.

If I had to pick anything to sum up the best moments of growing up to my current age, I would say “Minecraft” without hesitation. Out of all the open world games I’ve ever played, it’s the best by a long shot. In my opinion, the game has barely any to no flaws. Even the soundtrack is truly art. I remember when I was very little and I was scared to play on survival mode because of the mobs. I learned how to make detailed builds on flat worlds because of it, and those countless hours spent just building sparked my creativity as an artist and writer. I hope Minecraft is never forgotten, but if it is, I’ll always come back to this video when I need to calm down or relax. This game shaped who I am. It helped me open up and make friends, and I’m so glad I was able to grow up and just lose myself in my own little world without worrying about main quests or leveling up. Just... building and moving forward. I always loved letting go of reality, and enjoyed. being the creator of a whole world. So thank you, Notch, for this wonderfully beautiful sandbox game. Thank you for the golden days of my childhood and the childhoods of countless others. Minecraft will never be “just a game” to us.
