Funny thing is Gentle wasn't even gonna cause that big of a scene. His only goal was to just get into campus during the festival and probablly film what he was doing. If caught he would have probablly just been kicked out and fined for whatever damages they caused. Instead Izuku makes this big deal of stopping him because the festival would be canceled.......which lets face it wouldn't have happened because Gentle and La Brava arn't big enough criminals to warrent a shut down of an entire festival and the panic it would likely cause. In other words if Izuku had left it alone that fight would have been entirely unnessecary and the Festival arc could have been completely about getting a smile out of a little girl who didn't know how to smile. I think that would have been WAY more interesting then what actually happened
No, it wouldn’t have mattered if Gentle and La Brava did anything or if they were simply caught trespassing. The festival would’ve been cancelled(that was the condition Principle Nezu agreed to just to get permission to hold the festival) so Deku’s fight may not have especially high stakes it was worth it to ensure Eri got to enjoy the festival. Not only that, but if the duo had run into any other hero they would’ve been treated much more harshly(because while they aren’t especially violent they are still villains) Deku after the fight downplayed Gentle and La Brava’s crime as a prank to encourage the authorities to go easy on them with the charges. This ultimately led to the two getting a chance to redeem themselves and potentially re-enter society as aspiring heroes.
facts cause like he said he was going to post the video after the festival, so it wouldn't get cancelled since the only hero that really could have stop him other deku was eraserhead. Lets not forget that they gave him a harsh punishment putting him in prison . But in reality he would only get 1 to 2 months in jail since they one not stole anything and two they did not kill anyone.
in the manga you can see a very samll tv scene wehre it was said that ectoplasm adn this hound hero "defeated" and captured gentle criminla mh what a joke izuku defeated him and he turned himself in but this both still tooked the credits for it, that is why hero killers are needed to take care of this false heroes
