So...what if I told you that alien invasion has already took in place....hundreds of thousands of years ago, and this place has been owned by them since then..? Sounds too crazy to be true? How about this; We are modified creation of aliens and we are being monitored and controlled by them by many ways. Some talk about demons...and gods and angels...what if I say those are aliens... Well I know you won't believe me, but nevertheless it might be true.. Truth is way creepier than fiction.
Actually, if you think of the odds of you being the one inside of the robot, it's not that cool, because, like with any weapon, that would mean that there is a way bigger chance that you are in the wrong side of the gun
I think the concept and actual production capabilities of the Power Jacket MK3 has incredible potential, since being an exoskeleton it uses the human pilot's natural balance and movement abilities instead than having to recreate them via software, allowing a much lighter and efficient machine. A bipedal autonomous robot like the Method-1 has to do a much more "thinking" by itself just to stand erect so it needs lots of computing power, and that means complexity and weight, plus the controls are less precise. If they'll manage to put more power and speed into an exoskeleton that will be the first really effective "bipedal working machine".
In Patlabor the anime, mechs started as builders and doing various heavy machinery jobs well before combat. Something I've very much pressed is that they can help settle environments and defend without being geared for just war alone. However with the ideal that they could be used for combat, means it could settle a fight safely with presence to awe struck foes. There will be those who indeed challenge, but a lot can be done with this, and even bring back the conditions of what took place in early air combat. A code of honor where combat can be done in machine against machine, and an understanding that the pilot no longer needs to die or be a combatant when the machine is loss. Disputes will always be a reality, so will challenges via conflict. But mech, like the early planes, could propagate that old idea that even in war, not every life must be lost in said fights, even at a loss. Much like un manned robotics, it could introduce a more civil form of conflict, but not without the presence and danger, and even the lacking of moral presence, of a human being still being present among the carnage they may reap to influence proper decisions and in a timely basis.
i just think of how great these mechs would be at dealing with forest fires (load those cannons up with water balloons! lmao) or for dealing with rescuing people trapped inside burning buildings
@@fayenwolf We deserve another Patlabor or Steambot Chronicles like open world game. Where the uses range from fighting, protection, utility, and exploration. Kuratas was the true winner, it beat a robot above its own weight class in seconds! If the Americans put forward a robot in the same weight class in every fight it would have lost every fight.

3 year old video, but just stumbled upon it. And damn I can't wait! I grew up playing Mechwarrior games. Imagine having Boston Dynamics' advanced bipedal robot algorithms combined with some big military contractor like Lockheed. All we need now are some enabling technologies like artificial muscles (myomers) for improved mobility over electric or hydraulic actuators, compact powerpacks (gas turbines can suffice until we crack fusion engines hehe) and heavy duty control moment gyroscopes to withstand weapon impacts/recoil and keep the machine balanced. The future is now!
Ugh. All of the people on the internet saying that these robots suck and aren't anywhere near what they want absolutely disgust me. Do you all not think? They are prototypes for a reason. They are the true first step to those awesome mechs and robots that you all want. We just aren't there yet. But if those companies weren't doing what they are, we wouldn't even be slightly close.
If I had Bill Gates money, I'd buy the 8 million dollar robo-suit at the end, just to go trick r' treat on Halloween. Imagine the look on peoples face when they opened the door. Priceless.
I rather get a kartus, because its only a million, and while it cost more to build a prototype, it becomes cheaper as they learn how to be more cost effective.
Very good video. By any chance do you remember either of the robot suits: 1- My favorite, the loader in Aliens worn by Sigourney Weaver. ( Apologies if I spelled that wrong.) 2- A specialized suit was worn by Ballantine beer workers that allow on man to handle and load a truck with huge beer barrels.
Perfect timing for the video! I had to do a presentation about the robot, I made in science class, today.^^ I think exo skelettons could be useful on construction sights. I mean the workers wouldn't get exhausted as fast and therefor the project will be finished earlier. If they weren't so expensive though :/ As always... nice video! ;)
Though In my tiny little existance, I have come across a game ( playstaion\xbox ) called "ArmoredCore"... it has many sequels and as the game dynamics improve as the game engine is better refined, something quiet interesting becomes evident.... A regular person ( i.e: general gamer ) has to dramatically improve their concept of "whats possible" to be able to continue to overcome the A.I.... Now the reason for this is, the Mecha Suit (Armored Core) has the ability to fight with as much offence and defence as the Pilot (Raven) can imagine\design\opperate.... This may all sound very open ended... But with the availability of many variations in Mecha assembly able to be selected in the game. Coupled with a brilliant mind for strategy\balance\ingenuity and coordination + reflexes, I can assure you.... There is nothing else capable of defeating one of these systems.... I played the game for multiple years... throughout many different interations... And in the Last version of the game where a Mech could be created to the full potential of the designers intention ( taking into account battle capabilities and strategy + natural skill ), I finished the main storyline. ( it actually requires you to do it several times, each time allowing for a slightly different plot and a new level of opponent ).... At this point, I thought i had attained Mecha Warrior God status.... I was wrong... very wrong... ( this was on xbox360 ) and any time i had tried to play online multiplayer, i was met with empty lobbies... Turns out, this game was alot more popular in Japan... (
The method one is the best of all. It is real there is a video of a man who got to operate the thing and even used it to flip the bird at the camera. It was built from scratch and developed in house making it so expensive. The CEO goes on to say there was no reference of tech for their idea so it took some expensive r&d. I believe he said one arm alone cost over 2 million dollars.
Aw that Method-1 thing is awesome - It and the Kuratas could probably be the first true developments in real life military combat robots. I'd love to put laser cannons and rocket launchers on those things!
PEOPLE.................................................................................................... Just don't add weapons with it. Make it a Firefighter. You add weapons to it and soon........ I'll have to fight these awesome robots to save the world.
ALL MIGHT since when is that a concern if that was the case we wouldn't be allowed to use the apache gunship on infantry especially since the most common variants are equipped with a 20-30mm rotary gun armed with HEIT rounds (base line, is that not unfair?)
Considering people would be mounting massive recoilles rifles to these it would be illegal, it would be exactly the same as pointing an tank gun at someone and hitting them with the shell and not an MG, in war you have to be "Moderately" fair, having troops walking around in these armed with LITERAL tank guns shooting people would be against conventions due to the fact the HE power alone of a decent tank shell in an open field (For example) would cause many to unnecessarily suffer, If those laws did not exist the Apache would be carrying stuff like GAS instead of a 20-30mm you also have to remember soldiers (Unless pushed to the limit) are never "Shoot to kill" people, I mean look at past war statistics in WW2 only 15-20 percent of people actually fired at the enemy, the rest would have shot in a way it seems like they are shooting at them but the bullets probably missed by quite an amount... In these gunships only the psychopaths in said gunships aim for EACH individual soldier on the field, Arm this mech with a 12mm MG or something at it will be fine, arm it with a cannon and SPECIFICALLY aim for infantry soldiers and then people will raise eyebrows. Also i can tell you right now, that Apache is capable of SO MUCH MORE deadly weapons, but as i have said they have to tone it down to make it fair.

Its the same things they do with normal tanks... you just need a steep wall and the tank is fucked in that hole. But it isnt, as our military had to fight this kind of shit (btw, "our" western military) since they had cool machines and the enemys borrowed guns and shovels. We have tanks that are supposed to just drag other tanks out of holes, water, sand, mud, we have bridge-building tanks there is everything. Walkers are not the ultimate future, but they do have a lot of potential. Before WW2 almost nobody thought that planes can have a real impact on war except by scouting. Then everybody in the Airforces thought they could do it alone... and Hitler still fucked them cause Combined Forces OP. (then the allies did combined forces and fucked him too xD ) One of these potentials?: Asymetric warfare. You run arround in archaic citys that were never build for big tanks to move in there. with legs (2-8 or more) you can move arround a lot better than a tank. And if it is just as weapon-carrier. Btw, no good Engeneer would build a walker for war with less than 3 legs :D (partly the problems you said, and because more legs do redress the balanceproblem)
Number one is the only thing I would really call something close to a mech. The others are just toys with bad design and they are nothing special. For example that one where you have to smile. It's just a cockpit on wheels a some simple mechanisms but at least the design is better than number 2. that one seems even less practicle.
The method 2 was designed in collaboration with Vitaly Bulgarov and Hankook Mirae Chairman Yang Jin-Ho and his team but the people responsible for the actual construction and engineering were South Korean engineers and technologists from Hankook Mirae Technology in Gunpo, South Korea. Jin-Ho spent 200 million USD of his own money on the creation and design of method 2 and the South Korean engineers also played a key role in developing the hardware and software. Give credit where credit is due.

(then the allies did combined forces and fucked him too xD )
One of these potentials?: Asymetric warfare.
You talk like you know things, to think you’re smarter than the experts is arrogance.
And btw IT IS a working progress
The last one, I hope I can get because I could air thrust in a robot suit

the concept of the first robot walking was very interesting but all are nice things
이것도 너브해 보시지~♡
Number one is the only thing I would really call something close to a mech. The others are just toys with bad design and they are nothing special. For example that one where you have to smile. It's just a cockpit on wheels a some simple mechanisms but at least the design is better than number 2. that one seems even less practicle.
The last one needs more balance & stability cuz it look like it was gonna fall over
Method-1 is the start of Front Mission in real life.
This is how Battletech begins. Star League here we come!
Also, Kuratas and the MK2 are set to battle soon
that was the lamest battle I've seen in my life.. my potato gun could kill both of them in one fukin shot...
That last video. That is surprisingly close to a Mobile Suite Gundam.
now that is awesome
The method 2 was designed in collaboration with Vitaly Bulgarov and Hankook Mirae Chairman Yang Jin-Ho and his team but the people responsible for the actual construction and engineering were South Korean engineers and technologists from Hankook Mirae Technology in Gunpo, South Korea. Jin-Ho spent 200 million USD of his own money on the creation and design of method 2 and the South Korean engineers also played a key role in developing the hardware and software. Give credit where credit is due.
No chainsword, no battle cannon, no gatling cannon. The imperial knights can wait
I'm wishing this for Christmas
Very Good
That dude's facial scars at 1:20 are badass
I was about to say that if you seen the MK 3 of one of the robots yet, but you said it in the video when I was about to comment about it
Interesting. ... Yes can we upload rockets and minimum attached
The last one looks like a mech suit from avatar movie some soligers use.
“There are things you can't fight - acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you get out of the way. But when you're in a Jaeger, suddenly you can finally fight the hurricane... You can win.”
Pacific Rim. 2013.
method 1 + better gyro system + autocannon = avatar
Wow this video is this old? I knew robot mechs were being made years ago so I wonder how far they have come today.
Americans -> Battletech
Japan -> a plethora of mechs
These powered suits will be good in human space exploration
People saying these things suck need to remember that the first gasoline-powered cars sucked too. This is just the beginning. Get back to us in a hundred years.
also early tanks sucked too and first planes couldn't even fly , everything sucks when it is in prototype phase 😆
2:59 That one is used in the movie "AVATAR"
The last two robotic suits remind me of the one Ripley uses to kill the Alien.
I want them to build a District 9 Exo Suit - the coolest Exo-Suit ever
Technology is booming so fast it's scary. Imagine all the things the governments arent showing us yet. And this are just the start. In 100 years iron man suit in marvel cenematics would even be possible. I just wish i am still alive to see all of those in 100years.
Metal gear and armored core tournaments are going to look alot different than just matching on PlayStation lol
