  • This is a recording of a presentation held at Yale School of Music on November 29th, 2022, discussing the integration of score-following and artificial intelligence technologies into multimedia classical performances, presented by Nikki Pet (Yale School of Music, MM22) and Kaitlin Pet (Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, PhD student), featuring guest speakers Professor Christopher Raphael (Indiana University Luddy School of Informatics, Professor of Music Informatics), Professor David Shifrin (Yale School of Music, Professor of Clarinet), and Professor Frank Morelli (Yale School of Music, Professor of Bassoon).
    This talk covers three broad categories of multimedia performance projects: 1) live synchronized animation projections, 2) virtual ensemble assembly, and 3) virtual players in live chamber music settings. Each segment features a performance demonstration, explanation of the technology and motivation, as well as a discussion with the audience on future potential and applications of this technology.
