By far, the best dressed couple in mid-century television (if not in any era). Gracie was about 55 here.. absolutely stunning. So smart... and with perfect timing, it's a crime she never an Emmy.
RIP Gracie Allen (July 26, 1895 - August 27, 1964), aged 69 And RIP George Burns (January 20, 1896 - March 9, 1996), aged 100 You both will be remembered as legends.
My grandma met George Burns and Gracie Allen she said they were the nicest people that you would want to meet. My grandma has a picture of her and George and Gracie that they took. It's put up in a very special picture frame.
I'm 64 and always thought George Burns had his own way of comedy but I never realized how much Gracie was one of the gems if comedy. I'd put her right there with Lucille Ball . Her innocence is so beautiful and true in her comedy. I have a new appreciation for her now and forever. She's hilarious to her husband's comedy. I just wonder how much of the comedy she performed that she wrote her self ?. Anyways now she's my favorite. ❤😂
Yeah, except I think Gracie is light-years above most all comedians female and male.. Gracie is unique and so gifted ... Gracie is verbal comedy, while Lucy did physical comedy. To me, verbal is a more intelligent comedy, thus harder to be successful, highliting Gracie great talent.
Gracie Allen might be my favorite person of all time. Every few days I try to think outside of the box, walk into a room with a scenario that’s so out of touch and act so oblivious that I have people questioning if I’m vapid just to see how they react.
I watch this show every morning at 5 a.m in the morning on antenna TV it's a channel 62-6 is the channel on none cable t.v and I also watch Jack Benny show at 5:30 I love watching this channel these old shows are the best those were the good old days when TV was the best of it's time
Harry Von Zell. He was the pitchman for Home Savings along with George Fenniman. Blanche Morton was played by Bea Benederet who did the voice of Betty Rubble on the Flintstones and was Kate Bradshaw on Petticoat Junction.
Bea also did the female voices for Looney Toons and played Cousin Pearl in the first season of the Beverly Hillbillies. Lucille Ball wanted her to play Ethel in I Love Lucy but she already had too much going on. She was one busy, in-demand lady!
They don't make truly funny shows like this any more their son Ronnie played there son on the show too remember him from The Honeymooners episode atomic passion, angel cake
What's also great about the seasons when Ronnie joined the show as a regular cast member was the parade of new and reoccurring beautiful young actresses to act as Ronnie's actual or potential love interest. My personal favorite being Judy Boutin/Meredith, esp. when she became "Bonnie Sue MaAvy."
I'm afraid you got this wrong. George Burns cheated on Gracie continually which broke Gracie's heart over all the years. He would buy her lovely things to compensate. I believe he was always very good to her aside from compulsive cheating. I believe he said the beautiful women in their industry was impossible to pass up and he had star power making it easy for him to seduce. Also, you repeated yourself quite a few times in lieu of content and that was a shame.
First of all, so-called "George Burns" was not his real name. There was absolutely nothing wrong with his birth name, Nathan Birnbaum. Mostly likely the name change was as the result of pressure from a greedy Business Manager or Studio, with the idea of perceived greater recognition and possible monetary gain?! The business of changing one's birth name is the ultimate insult towards your parents & heritage. The ONLY time a name change should happen is when a woman gets married. If a married women DOESN'T change her last name, then that's an insult to her husband. Furthermore, a hyphenated name is ridiculous and only a pretentious person would do that to their name. A female with a hyphenated name is bad enough, but a male with one is down right ludicrous.
It was a different time. People had different standards for what would catch on with the public, and people have anglicized their names for the whole history of this country. Applying current trends to what people did 100 years ago is judgy and unfair.
Wow!....... My first time watching.. Just saw a Michael Parkinson show with Burns, and what a treat! Great writing. I WILL watch more.
Wow the show is 74 years old now who's watching in 2024
Love it! I watch it ALL THE TIME!!
By far, the best dressed couple in mid-century television (if not in any era). Gracie was about 55 here.. absolutely stunning. So smart... and with perfect timing, it's a crime she never an Emmy.
Don’t forget her jewelry and furs!
She was always beautifully dressed, and a beautiful lady! Patricia Gambino Harrington
Gracie Allen is my favorite female comedian...she is brillant.

One of the best shows
True love for Gracie from George. George never remarried and was dedicated to Gracie till the end. They are together again making GOD laugh
I never get tired of watching these shows. Also The Jack Benny Show.
It's awesome to watch the episodes of either show that feature the other(s), i.e., Jack on Burns and Allen Show and vice versa.

Both were on the Lucy show hillarious
These shows were spectacular. I watch the episodes over and over.

I remember the George Burns and Gracie show called Gracie lost favorite watch
They were both very funny. I don’t know why they never won any awards for their comedy. It was of the highest caliber I could watch them forever.
This is a 1st generation Burns & Allen syndication, with the 'Love Nest' theme song opening, and the Screen Gems at the finish.
I love trivia like that! Thank you 😃!
Gracie Allen was so funny 🤣 😆 😂

Gracie was a comedienne,
Lucy was a comic actress.
Yeah, except I think Gracie is light-years above most all comedians female and male..
Gracie is unique and so gifted ...

Lucy couldn't touch Gracie nor has anyone come close Gracie was the best.
Gracie Allen might be my favorite person of all time. Every few days I try to think outside of the box, walk into a room with a scenario that’s so out of touch and act so oblivious that I have people questioning if I’m vapid just to see how they react.
I actually Laughed out loud 🤣🤣😂😂love from Ireland

Gracie Allen and Lucille Ball will always be the best.
One of my top 5 favorite shows, ever... It has me waking up at 2:00am to watch on Antenna TV! They remind me of my parents!! 😊

Nonsense. I was born in 1960 and love these shows!
Thanx4post
I usually find ditzy characters annoying, but not Gracie! She sure knew how to deliver a line.
Happy Anniversary! The first episode came out 74 years ago today!
‼️ Funny, esp. the last 10 😂👍minutes. I'll have to remember Gracie's "moving up in line routine", lol.
Lovely show, I sure enjoy it.
"George Teaches Gracie Not To Be Careless", originally telecast on October 26, 1953.
Correct Date, but the title is "Gracie Thinks Blanche is a Kleptomaniac"
This was so cute . I love it
Goodnight Gracie😊
I'm 25 it's sad most people my age or older never heard of george and gracie
There's no such thing as a dumb blonde but Gracie Allen gave new meaning to being out of your mind. That's acting and that's funny.
She was never out of character she was the same on stage as she was off
I would vote for Gracie than anyone else - now when I hear Bea I see Wilma
I think this show influenced l love Lucy quite a bit. The humor definitely holds up.
I Love Lucy premiered the year after Burns and Allen
Wow wish I met Gracie when I was around 60 years ago.
There's no one like Gracie!!! there'll neve will!
I love these shows.jan2022.
Gracie is genius
George would watch the goings on on his TV set upstairs love it ...I have to go but I'll wave to u...
George Burns was once asked the secret to his success n he said I just asked her how's your uncle and step back ...
thanks
My name is Grace Allen 😂
Reminds me of ireneDunne and William Powell in Life With Father! ❤️❤️❤️
William Powell 🥰🥰🥰
This episode could not have been filmed in 1950 . Larry Keating( Harry Morton) did not join the cast until the fall of 1953.
4th season 1953-54
The 1950 refers to the year the series premiered.
@@erichwise9936 Oh yes ! You are correct .
this was fun
And that's how Seinfeld was thought of...
Não conheci mais parece que foi uma boa dupla.
❤️❤️❤️. 😂😂😂
©1953 at end of the show.
Agreed. Larry Keating played Harry Morton 1953-1958.

Blanche turns into cousin Pearl in a few years n helps Jed civilized Ellie May!😊
Cigars are good for you
good
❤
Burn’s smoked up to 20 cigars a day. When Johnny Carson asked what his doctor’s thought about it he said my doctors are all dead. Lol.
George Burns could’ve been the one that killed Gracie Allen at such a young age of 69. Smoking all those cigars and she had to breathe it all in.
Why not hide the watch and pretend it fell in the cement used to build the barbecue? Oops, wrong 50’s show.
One of the last I Love Lucy episodes-May 1957.
Hip
rofllllllllllllllllllllllllll
I understand the need to monetize but this was ridiculous.
What do u mean about this is crazy .....

Man, that some lousy laugh tracks!

But what do you REALLY think?
@@erichwise9936 There's no excuse for changing one's birth name.
You're obviously not Jewish.
Who are you to say what people should do with their names. I hyphenated because my father was gone and I wanted to honor him
