- It's a beautiful, sunny day, and the sunflowers are more radiant than ever!
This makes Yuuka quite happy to see her precious flowers blooming like that, so much so that she decides to try an activity that was recommended to her by a friend who is a fan of autumn: painting!
This way, she will be able to capture such a beautiful landscape of her garden.
Let's hope she doesn't get interrupted while doing so.

Yuuka is truly one of the kindest, gentle, and loving people I know in Gensokyo. She's only portrayed as a sadistic person due to misunderstandings by people who don't know her, only ever making the occasional uncanny comment. I truly wish more people understood how much she genuinely cares about people, and that she wouldn't hesitate to protect others in need.

I always wonder if Medicine could control what “poison” she emits, because the poison is in the dosage. She could be able to weep liquid aspirin for all we know.
All things considered Yuuka showed an amazing amount of restraint given what she was putting up with.

I love how these episode’s plot lines turn out, it remind me of my favorite kid’s shows! Nice, sweet and short and cheery. With a dash of action and tension.

Small reminder, ogres(trolls, hobgoblins?) are canon in Touhou and appearing in Lotus Eaters canonical printworks.
now all we need is for shrek to appear in some sort of fanwork (better yet, he becomes canon)
Hobgoblins first appear in WaHH, Yukari bring them to Gensokyo, now they work at SDM

This was so good, and I loved all the little sound effects and music choices. Seeing Yuuka constantly *not* actually hurt them no matter how angry she got was heartwarming, considering how often Touhous love to get on each others' nerves. 💖🌻

Finally got around to watching this video when I had the time.
Love how sweet Yuuka actually is (even if she does act scary at times) and how Medicine and Wriggle act like siblings here. That ending as well was so cute. Wholesome video overall.
I know nothing of Touhou, but I do know sprite animation and anime, and whatever it is I've just stumbled upon... is a classic oldschool masterpiece.

I love how you manage to put every genre in all of your animations; comedy, action, drama and end it on a heartwarming note, And it never feels rushed, it all flows so naturally, add that to the fact that you make the characters act like themselves and give it a lot of world building, you are a truly talented person

I loved the OneShot music, and your sprites are surprisingly in character for the shenanigans that Wriggle and Medicine get up to. Also, 1:25 is reimu, shimmy at 4:48, koishi at 6:59, aya at 8:25, Yukari at 10:09, and Hourai at 12:54.

Honestly, their portrayal throughout this is just plain genius.
Wriggle's an insect, so she forgets information, she's no longer using. Hence, why she would forget about the danger, Yuuka poses, every time she leaves the area. And also not making the connection of not being wanted in the garden, despite pollinating the flowers, because Yuuka wanted to paint. But after seeing what Yuuka did to the ball, she's all too aware of how dangerous it is to annoy her and tried to warn Medicine, only to forget about it immediately when her main focus is to try and cheer Medicine up.
Medicine, on the other hand, is a forsaken doll. Coming to life from literal abandonment issues, she'd naturally have problems to consider the feelings of others, unless she witnesses them first-hand. Hence, I'd consider it natural for her to just try and finish the painting, despite probably knowing that she wouldn't be able to complete it fully, likely feeling bad for it, as it seemed to have been abandoned, just like she was, and to just immediately try and blame Wriggle, so that she can feel better.
Also, to me it is especially funny that Wriggle doesn't even seem to take offense at Medicine, trying to pin the blame on her, but that Medicine still keeps misgendering her. X3
Yuuka, lastly, is constantly raising flowers and watching out for them. And as the old saying goes: "Watching a child grow up will never get old." Even elderly humans still can't help but care for any child, they encounter on sight. With Yuuka likely considering the sunflowers as somewhat of her children, she'd have an even stronger connection to things, that seem not-yet fully matured, explaining her soft spot for childlike Youkai like Wriggle and Medicine.
Finally though, my absolute highlight of the video is Shizuha's inclusion as the one, who inspired Yuuka to paint. Shizuha already paints all the leaves for the Autumn color change, by hand no less. And given that her sister still gets all the praise and worshippers because of harvests receiving much more attention than the leaves, Shizuha would probably know how to relax and chill by doing this, so as to not get too fed up about how humans just ignore her work most of the time.

It takes a lot, and I do mean, A LOT to get Yuuka angered, but even if she is absolutely FUMING, Yuuka never resorts to violence. She only fights to protect, but for who is another thing.

Yuuka should have hired Alice to babysit Medicine for her.
While ZUN has officially stated that Medicine and Alice are in good terms (and this animation portrays Medicine as more of a youngish youkai) She has been living alone in her own field full of flowers for a while now, I imagine (and my opinion is always right as a Medicine fan) that her relationship with Alice is not that one-sided, they probably just enjoy the same things, Medicine with her Convallatoxin and Alice with her Dolls.
@@MedsieLovr I know though the thing is, no one has seen Alice and Medicine get paired or meet up in this animation. Heck, I sometimes see Alice as Medicine's surrogate mother(they even look the part).
