Well it's an absolute travesty what they have done to our food - and believe me, food does NOT taste the same way it did 50 or 60 years ago. I remember a time when everything was to die for - hot dogs, baloney, tomato soup, chicken, beef, pork - everything tasted different and so much better. If I got chicken from the supermarket and chicken from the butcher you can 100% tell the difference. 1 is almost tasteless, the other is delicious. Its preservatives too. Plus we're a small island on the edge of the Atlantic, lots of rain and good farming land so everything is fresh, grown right and never far away. And with destruction of rivers and the ocean downstream. If these people had to provide health insurance for their neighbors, they would treat wastewater properly. It's not expensive to do. Wastewater can be made in to fertilizer. Pollution is just good stuff in the wrong place. Spending a little extra money could make it work. These folks are violating the law, but North Carolina authorities just slap them on the wrist. In return for favors. Eliminate political corruption, and this will go away. It's not hard to do. But it usually takes a crisis to get accountants and investigators hired to keep track of political favors.

Interesting video. I don't know a lot about animal husbandry but I do know that the runoff from cow quarters is gathered in the same way, through slats in the floor. It's called slurry. It can be used as fertilizer so I suspect this pig digestate can be used in the same way. Its the same as how manure is used as valuable, effective fertilizer. It's very high in nutrients and many farmers use it to fertilize their crops. Again Im no expert but that basic info I do know as fact.
This is why I grow my own food. Not pigs, but chickens for eggs. They have a nice life with good food and they get to walk around all day and they’re not stuck in cages.

Well it's an absolute travesty what they have done to our food - and believe me, food does NOT taste the same way it did 50 or 60 years ago. I remember a time when everything was to die for - hot dogs, baloney, tomato soup, chicken, beef, pork - everything tasted different and so much better. That is why most of us snack now because the food is not satisfying. If I got chicken from the supermarket and chicken from the butcher you can 100% tell the difference. 1 is almost tasteless, the other is delicious. Its preservatives too. My cousin came over from Australia and said the food in Ireland all tasted so much better because in Aus everything is full of preservatives to keep it good in the heat.
Plus we're a small island on the edge of the Atlantic, lots of rain and good farming land so everything is fresh, grown right and never far away.
I've got bacon from a supermarket called 'Iceland' before an it stamps the country of origin, i've seen it say Spain and Germany and it still stays in date for atleast 2 weeks. Never tastes as good as the butchers.

This isn't a cheap way to make meat. It is only cheap for the owner of the farm. The neighbors and people downstream pay for it with their health. And with destruction of rivers and the ocean downstream. If these people had to provide health insurance for their neighbors, they would treat wastewater properly. It's not expensive to do. Wastewater can be made in to fertilizer. Pollution is just good stuff in the wrong place. Spending a little extra money could make it work.
These folks are violating the law, but North Carolina authorities just slap them on the wrist. In return for favors. Eliminate political corruption, and this will go away. It's not hard to do. But it usually takes a crisis to get accountants and investigators hired to keep track of political favors.

Interesting video. I don't know a lot about animal husbandry but I do know that the runoff from cow quarters is gathered in the same way, through slats in the floor. It's called slurry. It can be used as fertilizer so I suspect this pig digestate can be used in the same way. Its the same as how manure is used as valuable, effective fertilizer. It's very high in nutrients and many farmers use it to fertilize their crops. Again Im no expert but that basic info I do know as fact.

what i've enjoyed about being vegan is that it has made an amazing impact on my personal health and well being. i used to be very sick and depressed....... but eating some amazing food has helped me in so many ways. im not trying to tell people how to live their lives or judge them for their decisions. never that... im just sharing my experience and the positivity this lifestyle change has brought into my days... and maybe it can do the same for someone else. either way, i still respect meat eaters.
