  • This couple couldn't find a frame shop to help them repair this large papyrus that slipped in the frame (the frame shop that did the original job had closed). Nick said that he would help them. It looked like a good framing job when we took it in, but once Nick took it apart he quickly discovered what went wrong. Watch the video and find out.

    Always fun to understand why a particular problem occurred and reasoning through a solution that has to take it into account the work that was previously done. Out of curiosity, do you ever document the process you used and possibly slip it into the finished work so that a future framer might understand what you did if the work needs to be reframed in the future?

      Thank you for watching our video and for your thoughtful question. I have not been doing that, but should have and will start doing it from this point on. Good idea! When we frame a valuable or rare piece, we put a detailed statement on the back, which explains how it was framed and all of the materials used.
