An electronic machine connected to some network using some port for communication, can be attacked by means of network packet stealing. It's not a rocket science. Physical access isn't required in such cases. The problem with some people is they simply deny facts to please bosses, which they should avoid. Elon is a TECH leader and not just a leader.

As an engineer, I agree that any electronic device can be manipulated. But the most important thing is, how easy is the availability of the infrastructure to communicate with the device, and the degree of the expertise to do such things.
I personally don't think that the EVMs get hacked, but might be the EVMs get changed with the reserved EVMs.

For those who are calling Rajeev chandrashekahar uneducated. Rajeev has a degree Electrical Engineering, Master’s in Computer Science, and an Honorary Doctorate in Science. And he sold 64% of the company he started in 1994 for 1.1billion US dollars. He also used to worked in intel(HE was hand picked to work there). And the places were he did his education is also inpressive like Illinois institute of technology Chicago state university and even Harvard university. And i don't think elon even has a masters degree. Elon may know more about cars and rockets but he doesn't know sh*t about indian politics and polling compared to someone Rajeev chandrashekahar.

@@kotareddy6121 I am doing my electronics and communication degree right now. We weren't taught about EVMs but my project was an EVM and i had to do quite a bit of research for it. With my knowledge I can say evms cannot be hacked. Mainly because the programming done is like a single use and cannot be changed. And there are no input or output ports to connect a device to the evm to hack it and there is nothing like wifi and BT too. Some EVMs in foreign countries have these above mentioned things which can make them vulnerable to hacking. Think it like this you can hack somebody's phone by sending malware through whatsapp, using wifi, blutooth, USB etc. But how are you going to hack a calculator it is way more complicated to hack a calculator. But if you are giving the security to the calculator like you do to evm and make some minor tweeks like making the program unchangeable and some other changes the calculator becomes entirely unhackable. Watch the video by nitish rajput to understand the process in between. I can bet on anything that EVMs will be fairer than paper ballot.
@@kotareddy6121 To make things short. Our EVMs and other countries EVMs are not the same. Ours don't have Internet connectivity wifi, Bluetooth etc nor do ours have USB ports or other ports for that matter. So it is basically it cannot be tampered with and its programming is like a single write and cannot be changed. You said anything can be hacked right. Somebody can hack a phone by sending a malware through whatsapp,Connecting the wifi, through Bluetooth or by using a usb stick. But of you tell them to hack a calculator it will be difficult for them as the calculator mostly don't have these things. As an engineer i felt this. If i remeber correctly EVMs have a counter system(sort of like a circuit) which does not change after counting(it cannot count backwards. Just think about it if i give you a digital watch which cannot be disassembled and has ita switches sealed and told you to change the time(its like hacking it in this scenario ) it's impossible. So the tesla argument fails. Having advanced technology doesn't mean it's more secure it's more like the opposite.
