You really have found your niche Josh. You are doing great things for the every day pool player. The pros, the shortstops and the bangers are not the bread and butter of the sport. Its guys like you that makes pool great and help educating every day players.. You are the meat and potatoes of pool brother!
Well said
❤️❤️❤️ thank you James! That means a lot
OMG man...the first 2 runouts and that left spin 8 on the rail shot was incredible! One of the comments below was dead on, the commentary on how you play your patterns and how to shoot each ball has been super helpful for me when I play too! Josh be puttin' in that work boieeeeeeeee
Definitely helping my game by listening to your spin selection on each shot. Am impressed with your cue ball control.
Thanks a ton, Jeff. So glad you're getting some benefit from it! Appreciate you watching!
What’s up Gary, hope to see you go to level 4 soon. Josh, great shooting in the match, you were in your winning zone, commentating was excellent and helpful as well by both of you. How about match with Gary against a 4,5 level player?
Love the checked spin at 2:42. You like playing 9 or 8ball more?
Thanks! I like playing 9 ball more but, i think I'm a little better at 8
@@Amateur_Pool right on. I’m sure all games are good as long as you’re playing pool lol
I was looking at your open bridge and I love how you use your middle knuckle for a little more guidance and I can’t wait to get on a table to try it. Lol.
😆😂.. thanks.. i feel like i use about 2 million different bridges, lol
Good match Josh. A few comments here:
1. Josh, you can certainly play and know the game - but you need to slow down a bit on your back stroke and I think your bridge is too long on many shots.
2. Warren needs to work a lot on his stroke. His fine tuning shots are far too fast, his back stroke is wayyy too fast, and there is literally no transition pause from the back stroke to the forward stroke. This causes him to miss easy shots. His alignment is also an issue.
3. There is no doubt eight ball is much much more of a thinking game than nine or 10 ball. The fact you have so many options is what can cause a lot of problems. Nine and 10 ball are exactly what you said Josh - "more of a shooters game" and much more straight forward. There isn't nearly as much thinking that needs to be done in nine or 10 ball.
Really enjoy these videos.
Great advice! I'm always trying to work on my stroke... thanks for the tips
That was great match to watch and learn from! Great commentary! Great work Josh
Thanks, Ynkee!
The defensive shot at 22:18 was pretty salty! LOL good shot.
Thanks! Lol
I feel I was worse for about a season, now it's second nature for me. Not overthinking is the biggest part of pool, but not thinking at all you'll never start to win against the 6's and 7's. It's a fine line we walk. Loving the content these videos have helped with my pattern play ALOT and am running racks myself now!
That's awesome! I appreciate it a TON!
Nice playing Josh and also very nice having Gary helping commentate he done a great job
Garys my boy! Thanks for the comment!
Did you guys know that Josh is a celebrity, he was the 2022 APA 8 ball classic runner up!
Lmao.. or, as i like to call it, the first place loser, lol
So when's Earl and SVB gonna be on your show? Just wonderin
Lol. As soon as they return my messages, lol
nice shooting sir! love safety battles!
Thank you
9 ball is checkers. One pocketnis chess. 8 ball is connect 4.
That's true! But if 1 pocket is Chess, what is 14.1 ??
I'm glad I found your channel. I watch the pros play and I can't do all that stuff anymore, LOL. But we're in the same league and your videos help me. You're just a tad bit better than me, but I only get to play once a week for three or four hours. Your commentating is pretty cool too. 😀
Thanks, Tony! Appreciate you watching, for sure!
New to the channel. Gary is awesome. Very insightful for a level 3. I'm in the same boat he is. It made it easy for me to watch the entire video. Coming for you, Josh, and all 7s. Lol
I love to hear it! Keep grinding
Nice controlled and well thought out racks. Strategy and safety pays off a lot of the times in these sorts of matches and this is a classic case in point. Need to be patient and then take the opportunity once it opens up
💯 agree! Thank you
Nice break and runs Josh ..I followed you all the way through
Thank you! Opened the match with 2 of them, then fell into my usual self, lol 😆
22:50 If he would've missed your ball, at that speed, he would've fouled since nothing would've reached a rail.
Good call!
That is not Gary. You dug up Buddy Ebsen.
Lol
could have fnished rack 3 easier with ball in hand
For sure
What app do you use for streaming with the score on it like that?
Is not streaming.. i record the match, then edit it (just using capcut pc for the editing). That's how i add the score line. Then i commentate it afterward.
@@Amateur_Pool ooh ok. Thank you
@18:52 #Truth
💯
Josh's stream finally got some intelligence in the broadcast booth ! ( JK Josh . I really enjoy your style . )
Lol... that's why i asked Gary to join 😁
Great shooting with impressive break & runs Josh! Great job Gary! Awesome video!
Thanks, Danny d!
Danny B! Lol!
@dannyb615 nope... "from hence forth, you shall be known as Danny D, lol" 🤣😆... just kidding, it was just a mistake
@@Amateur_Pool you're the man! No problem, was JK!
Should have the league operator watch your videos they should drop you down to a 6 maybe even a 5
For sure... Maybe even a 4
WAS ANYBODY ELSE THINKING LIKE ME HOW MUCH THAT GUY FAVORED JED CLAMPETT ? 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
You talking about Gary??!!! LOL - That's HILLARIOUS! :)
Wee Doggie that's spot on😂
@@fubufb420 so funny, lol
Should have went for the 11
What timestamp?
31:07 if you're playing 3 foul rule in 8 ball then he could have hit the 8 to surround your ball and you would have to try to hit your ball or you lose. 8 ball 3 fouls is alternating you, him, you. You fouled on purpose so be careful when you do that.
I don't think apa has a 3 full rule for 8 ball. Great tip for other rule sets, for sure!
APA and BCA do not have 3 foul rule. You'll mostly only see this is higher level tournaments to keep play from stagnating, most of the local tournaments I play in don't even have 3 foul.
rack 2, foul on the 14 ball?
I looked for it.. didn't see a foul. Add in a timestamp, if you would
@@Amateur_Pool @ 5:00 mark ? the cue touches the 14 ball?
@jhun334 i see what your talking about now.. want a fouls though. Watch it back. My stick hit the 14, after the cueball is already past... good eye. I didn't even see it!
@@Amateur_Pool if it is ok with the opponent no harm done anyways
@@jhun334 true
What is your preferred cue tip?
Been using a soft sniper to lately.. i like it a lot
@@Amateur_Pool hey Josh I just put a tiger sniper tip on my cue , it’s great ! I think their medium, anyway works great for me too
Ok Josh what’s typical. Not what you specifically do but a typical expectation.
I had a guy blocked except for 1% of the 8 ball and my opponent hits the extreme edge and I personally see it move and settle where it was. My captain (6 with 25 yes of experience) and I (5 with 2 yrs of exp) he tells me because my opponent did not see it move it wasn’t my call. Now I will go to my grave and call it a good shot. No one else saw it as a good shot including the shooter. As good sportsmanship goes, I feel I’m in the right. Wtf am I supposed to do? Ignore the table?
That's a tough call. If there is no spotter called, it goes to the shooter, regardless of how the shooter saw it.. usually best not to argue with anyone when that happens, as it can just throw you off of your game
Why do you keep calling the 2 ball the six ball? lol blue is two.
LOL - I also mix up the 14 and 12 a lot too... Dunno why :)
Josh tap has 8 people on team for 8&9 ball
Ya, that's what someone else commented also. I need to check it out a bit better
@@Amateur_Pool my lady & I start tue 🐸
@@charlesreynolds2871 nice.. where at?
@@Amateur_Pool Cincinnati area
@charlesreynolds2871 i played at a place, years ago, in Florence. Can't remember the name of it though.
How can Gary be a 3 when he thinks like a 6? Is he hiding his skills for the appropriate time?
LOL, you got us! He's sandbagging :)
Good match, Josh. And don't worry Gary, you did a great job on the commentating. Of course, sitting next to a guy who doesn't know his basic colors and numbers.... 😜
That's why i asked Gary to help! 😆
Nice job Gary, 🎉🎉
❤️ gary!
Awesome and good info!
Thanks, J!
Every time I watch your videos, it makes me look for my sunglasses! LOL, just kidding. You should know me by now, I have to "RAZ" you like a friend! Personally, I wear a hat so I don't have to hear it!
LOL... I'm going to start polishing my head so it shines more! lol

Hi Gary!!!❤
❤️❤️
What kind of nonsense is this at 24:30? You hit a ball with your elbow, put it back to where it was and carried on?!? In another match you've played, you hit a vall with your cue too and just carried on like nothing had happened. Don't you play by the rules in the amateur league in America? In the UK, they're fouls. I thought they were fouls everywhere?
No sir.. in this particular league (apa) it is cute ball foul only. Not all ball fouls
@@Amateur_Pool really? Blimey, I'm moving to America right now! Clumsy bugger that I am 😂😂😂
@@MrJules39 lol... ya, rarely do amateur leagues/ tournaments play all ball fouls here... you'd love it, lol 😆
Is Cameron really a 5? His follow-thru is beyond sloppy.
Ya... you can't tell anyone's speed from 1 match.. we all have good days and bad days
@@Amateur_Pool I'm just saying his follow-thru is all over the place. Watch him shoot. After he shoots, he flinches and raises his cue to the side instead of shooting through the ball.
@antoniog9814 well, we all know how accurate the apa handicaps are!! Lmao.. not!
