Since recording this vid pre-Covid - I would now say the future of Super Rugby is even more in question with all the travel which is involved
Premiership clubs have agreed to cut their salary caps
Japan's Top League was called off for the season
MLR was also called off - also Colorado has pulled out of the MLR but Dallas and LA have been added to the list for next year..... any other things to add or clarification on the points I made in the vid most welcome!
    Cheers!

I know that this was filmed a while ago but thought you should know but there is now the complication of the A-League moving the start of it's season from October to December which is going to make booking stadiums for most of the Australia Super Rugby Sides more difficult

    Thank you, great Video!
I think it would be cool to transform Super Rugby into a Southern Hemisphere Champions Cup.
With the best Mitre 10, NRC, Currie Cup and what ever they play in Argentina (maybe some Top League) teams qualifying.
Maybe 5 NZ, 4 SA and AUS, 2 Japan and 1 ARG Team to make 16 teams- 4teams a pool.
Maybe it would become something a little more special having more focus on the local competition and not having the international games week in and week out.
Super Rugby Aoteroa has seen great perception - only having derbys.
Maybe it would be a little weird if the Griquas play the Crusaders lol

Another great and informative video! I'm improving, I knew most of the content finally! As far as the future of Super Rugby is concerned, I would stick with 3 separate domestic leagues with a Grand Finals competition amongst the winners at the end. Champions Cup format is not the answer because the different countries don't fully support the competition equally. Eg. english team always send their B teams to the pool games.

rugby is excruciatingly exausting. To make the learning curve for up n comers less strenuous on players bodies they should introduce quarter breaks or more reserves on the bench. How are youngsters to learn if the skill level of the forwards is as intense as a nfl D-line

I guess Sarries have been spared a degree of penance due to the virus,; conversely, it's a shame for the fans and coffers of the Championship teams. My old man would've loved to watch them play the Cornish Pirates down at Penzance. The old bugger is 90, yet he'd turn out for that one. We Cornish are rugby, like our Welsh cousins.
