One of the funniest things - ever - about the MAD board game - is that it included a card entitled - "This card can only be played on a Tuesday". I was so excited when my friends and I finally played on a random Tuesday and I finally got it, then I soon realized there was absolutely nothing to do with the card. ;)
This brings back some wonderful memories as I visited the MAD offices at their Avenue of the Americas address just over a year and a half ago so I remember a lot of these things. (Didn't get to meet John Ficarra, unfortunately, as he was out of the office that day - so I'm glad he fills in the blanks by leading this "tour"!)
Was lucky to take a tour of their office in the late 80’s, and they could NOT have been nicer! Showed us “how the sausage was MADe”, and gave us pins at the end. I chose the spy vs spy one. It was a core memory for me.
It's sad DC had to kill off Mad Magazine what's worse, with the world so butthurt these days - MAD Magazine wouldn't last a month in today's climate The only glimmer of hope is if WB Animation can spin off Spy vs. Spy as an animated series
Greatest Magazine ever , I Just gave away my collection by doing so I gave away part of my youth and a part of myself. Great memories waiting for the magazine to arrive or running to the drug store to buy them or looking for the new books! THANK YOU!
Great ideas; humor without sarcasm; over candid enough to tear off hypocrisy and find humor in any situation ...readers( at least myself ) grew up reading and unknowingly developing the same quality. Find humour saying ... " Wot me worry"...
He's lying about "celebrity snaps" where he says celebrities "like" to send pics of them holding the magazine. They gave free 3 year subscriptions if you took a photo of a celebrity holding it and they published it.

Man, I wish Alfred E. Newman all the best in his retirement... and all the furshlugginer pastrami sandwiches he can eat!
I wonder if the move to LA had something to do with the end of the magazine?
Uh, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would really love to see the movies and TV shows that Mad may have covered but never released.

Mad Magazines was direct nephews of the so awesome (for me) Superman family comics. They even shared artists.
