I invite you to start sewing basics with me! If you've been intimitated to sew with stretch fabrics, I share a few tips to make the process easier and help you produce a pucker-free tee! :)
I just came across your videos. I love love love your tutorials! They are the best I've seen so far and I've watched many! You make everything look so easy. Thanks! I'm a new subscriber!!! :) Looking forward to seeing more!
A very good video, glad you didn't demo ironing and all sewing on the machine and serger. Question: was there a reason you didn't use a tricot srip or knit stay tape in the hem areas to help prevent wavy puckering or tunneling stitches. Obviously you didn't have that problem, but many of us do when hemming knits with twin needle.? Thank you.
I use knit stay tape when I use lightweight knit fabrics. With medium weight Jersey, you can reduce wavy puckering and tunneling between twin needle stitches by adjusting the stitch length and tension!
Thanks for watching! I usually use zigzag stitches on the stretch fabric but I used a straight stitch on this oversized tee as it won't need to be stretched when I wear/unwear them except the neckline!
Hi there! Thank you for this video. I just got my first serger and am making this! Can I just Serge the sides and shoulders together or is it best to sew and Serge as you did?

Pausing to say thanks for the tip about fabric rolling towards the wrong side!
Make sure to check "Fabric on selvage". The cross grain can curl differently! It's quite useful to know, specially when I have to sew at night! 😊
Thank you again for your lovely and oh so helpful video…..I need to dig out that cotton jersey and try again!
I hope this method helps! :)
Wonderful as usual. Such a talented lady.
Thank you so much!
Sew tutorial thank 😀😀😃
Hola qué tal! Me encanta tu estilo! Espero algún día tengas subtítulos en español en tus videos, éxito!
Thank you! Gracias!
Thank you! What a great tutorial! I'm wondering what stitch you used to sew...was it zigzag or just a longer stitch length? Thank you yet again!

@@SewingTherapy oh right! Because it's oversized, makes sense but what stitch length would you use? I use 2.5 for regular wowen fabrics. 😍😍😍
@@mg3675 I used 2.8, a bit longer than my normal stitch! 😊
@@SewingTherapy thank you🌹
So beautiful! Can this be made with longer sleeves?
Thank you! Of course! You just lengthen the sleeve, that's it!
Hi there! Thank you for this video. I just got my first serger and am making this! Can I just Serge the sides and shoulders together or is it best to sew and Serge as you did?
It’s up to your preference! When sewing knit and stretch fabrics, many people substitute the stitching with the serging! 😊
@@SewingTherapy thank you!
Hi Sara, thanks for the video. I watched the video but missed where you used the spray starch?
I use it when pressing knit fabric as pressing knit fabric is not easy-breezy!
@@SewingTherapy thankyou!
How wide should the paper be to print the pattern?
Can I still use the same jersey fabric for the neckband instead of separate ribbing material?
That was exactly what I did for my Tyra Tee in the video!
Should I cut the neckband in a certain way for better stretch, like in a bias tape? or it doens't matter? Thank you. ^^
If your jersey has decent stretch rate, cutting across the grain works fine!
Shannon, cut it across the grain if that is direction of most stretch. It usually is..

👏👏👏👌👌👌👌👍👍👍❤❤❤❤🤗
Hi thank you please learn Patern on paper
So you sew and serge. Not just serge. Thank you
Yes, I do both! 😊
