California was like this in the 1970s. A swell would hit unexpectedly and there might be three or four guys out there catching it, with most of the waves unridden. At well known spots that now have 150 guys out every time it breaks. I can’t believe it’s still like that in Bali sometimes.
No-one out at 3-4pm that day, hitting low tide I think. I saw one guy attempt to get out from the key-hole, got swept the whole reef to the end, which was super shallow and exploding on the cliff, he avoided the smash zone, got out the back, but only made it around 100m up the reef and then decided to come in (bad idea), he was still too close to the end and got promptly swept back into the dry cliff smash zone, the last I saw of him was him being flushed around the back side of the cliff with large set waves impacting, I did not see him get smashed, so hopefully, he made some kind of exit from the water, but there is not much beach in the next bay north. After him, a couple of guys made it out by starting near the end of the reef and timing it, seemed like a better option when this big and consistent.
Wow! This spot can hold some size, bomb after bomb too-I mind surfed those big empty walls in this vid ,long drops and big carve's ."Balangan Dreaming" cheehuu !!
It just holds it so well . Great footage..... again .

Very nice video. Never seen this type of consecutive waves coming one after another
Good footage. The offshore smoke is unreal.moody! Nice
Thanks 👍
Great coverage, thank you!
Gnarly energy!
Surfed similar swell there in June of 2019. One of the top waves in Bali, very underrated in my opinion. Reminded me of mainland Mexico.
👍👍👍
I’m wondering if any pro’s have flown in to ride these magical waves?
Garden Grove lol...I’m wondering how anyone other than a pro could surf these beasts!
They look pretty consistent, shouldn't be too bad. Just have to paddle hard and quick to your feet!
That's a good point.
So was your dad. Seriously though, those shorts are gay.

Fvkc-R-E_2_d_9th-PWR. yes started at the top of the point and got washed to the end of the reef, the next point around which it gets cliffy and rocky.

I tried surfing waves like this, but it didn't end well for me
Yeah, but the crowd!
Someone caught a wave @ 3.45
