This is just a pre-release to the actual comeback happening in July which is just insane with a song like this. It makes me curious what the actual comeback title track will sound like. And they say "I hate singing...... broken Melodies" in the 2nd and 3rd chorus but they break apart the "broken melodies" part to give more symbolism to the meaning of the song. The sentence is actually suppose to be "i hate singing broken melodies" as one thing. The song is about having a long distance relationship with our loved ones and the fear of not being able to ever be together again as one like the melodies of a song; and then the song's story goes on to talk about how one day we will meet again no matter what, which is also why it got so much more upbeat towards the end. Oh and mark does have other parts in the song. They show it in the performance but not the mv. Im honestly fine with it. Plus im sure in the real comeback they'll show him alot more☺️☺️☺️
Mark has two really lovely singing parts in the song, once on his own and once in a duet with Chenle, but because the editing doesn't show him actually singing most people don't recognise it, humans almost always prioritise visual information over other senses. (Which is why I never judge line distribution from MVs, just in case) You really have to watch the performance version they released a couple days ago. The choreo is absolutely beautiful and it makes the song feel even more grand and joyful than the MV itself. Haechan said that this pre-release was not originally planned as a pre-release (but a b-side on the album) but the boys loved it so much and it clicked with them so much that they decided to make it into a pre-release song. It really has built hype for the album in a wonderful way. They've even promoted it by performing on music shows already. It has us all very curious about how the title track is going to sound. I am loving these pre-releases (first EXO now Dream) and I cannot wait to hear both album in full in July!
I was just knocked out by how good Jeno sounded in the beginning. I love his singing voice - and Haechan's "Iiiii hate singingggg"... WoW! I too wondered why Mark was hardly in it, but I've also been wondering why he's even still standing so I hope it gave him some rest. The last time I remember him having black hair was in the "To You" video and he looked SO good. 🫠 Thanks for the reaction!
This pre-release was vocal heavy which is why you don’t see much of Mark. I expect the main single is going to have a lot more rap and you will see more of the rappers then.
I think the vocal/rap distribution is probably why you don’t see as much of Mark in this. To be fair, in most of Dream’s mvs they’re usually very Mark/haechan/jeno heavy, so it’s nice to see some of the other members highlighted more (chenle, jisung especially). It could also be that that’s just how the final edit came out, sometimes it happens that a member isn’t shown onscreen during their vocal/rap part, more of the “plot” or visuals of the mv is instead. all in all it’s such a beautiful mv and as a pre-release it’s INSANE that THIS is that quality for it. makes me SO HYPE for the album itself
They hate singing but they're making beautiful high not i have ever heard ❤ Edit : Mark has 2 lines and chorus centre part in performance Actually rap line get less lines . But last rap part 🔥

absolutely obsessed with the newest mark x chenle duet, mark's husky singing voice pairs sooooo well with chenle's clear vocals
