- Six months ago, Blake and I walked down the aisle and became one. But, six and a half months ago, my mom and my best friend took her last breath here on earth after a 2 year battle with breast cancer and her first breath in the presence of Jesus, the One she lived her whole entire life for. Losing her just 15 days before we were supposed to walk down the aisle was unexplainable - there are no words to encompass how hard it was, is, and will probably always be.
My mom didn't have a lot of requests in her last days, but she was adamant with Blake and I that we got married, on March 21, in Seaside, just like we had always dreamt of and planned. I wish I could say that it was easy or that the wedding "bliss" was our portion the whole weekend without her, but the ways that Jesus made His presence known and the ways that we felt my mama were unexplainable, still to this day I don't have words.
Blake and I's greatest prayer and hope for our wedding day is that God would be glorified and that we all would leave that chapel better than we came - and we did. So many people encountered the Lord, we had an altar call, we worshipped, we wept, but we danced too. We celebrated amidst the weight of the grief and the mourning - because thats what my mama wanted.

Words will fall short when I try to encapsulate your talent and who you are as a human in words so I will keep it short - you gave us the greatest gift of remembrance and we are forever in debt to you because of it. To my family, I cannot believe how lucky I am to have each of you to walk through these valleys with. Thank you for loving us, for seeking the face of Jesus in everything you do and for holding us up on our wedding day. I know mom would be so proud of all of us.
To our friends that traveled far to stand beside us in what was simultaneously our greatest and hardest moments, we love you and we are rich in friendship because of each of you.
To my followers and the community that has surrounded me, more times than not, your prayers and your kind words have sustained me. Thank you.

1. the part when she said, "remember being a little girl,"
2. the video of the father getting married
3. both of them giving thanks to the Lord
4. the part where I think one of the bridesmaids or sisters was reading a promising scripture.
5. the bride turn around then started to cry when she saw her family.

I know you don’t know me, but I lost my mom February 2016. I randomly found this video on TH-cam 2 years ago. Sometimes when I really miss my mom, or some type of event that she was apart of comes around, I some how make my way back to your wedding video. I don’t know why I keep coming back, but it makes me feel very very safe. I feel your story so much. I wish I could explain it and it not be weird. I’ve never told anyone. I have showed a few of my friends and they don’t seem to be near as touch as me. But thank you for sharing this and helping me feel safe. Your mom was so beautiful. As are you. I, too, lost my mom to breast cancer almost 13 years ago now. No, it is definitely not the same as losing her 15 days before my wedding.. but as a 15 year old girl when it happened, my mom has missed so many "big" moments already in my life. Now, as I plan my own wedding, it is so difficult to swallow the fact that she will miss our big day as well..
