FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if TH-cam denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

I love Avatar and can't wait for the sequel. Screw the haters. The reason it made so much money was that when it was in theaters it was in 3D and the 3D was extremely immersive and made you feel like you were on Pandora. No other film since Avatar has managed to successfully utilize 3D in that way.

    • @dylancole1910
      @dylancole1910 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Exactly! I agree, so many people hating on it because of how long it’s taken for a sequel. I mean.. I get it, I really do. It’s not fun to be hyped about a movie and then for it to constantly get moved. Though, I see it as pure opportunity for Cameron to really focus on the quality. He’s spent this long developing what is sure to be an even better plot, more stunning visuals with more advanced technology that couldn’t have been achieved in 2014, 2017, or 2021- all previous dates this was allegedly supposed to come out. I have faith in him because his movies always go above and beyond anyones expectations. And, if we don’t love it, we got two more sequels to hopefully make up for it.

I know, it’s going to be interesting seeing Avatar 2, all the leaks and rumors are centered around Jake settling down and having a Na’Vi family. There’s also this rumor going around that apparently a human adopted child is going to be a part of that family. Also, one where humans will take a backseat and it’s going to be more based on elements of Pandora and other creatures. I am so hyped for what this is going to be.

It's funny you mentioned this at 22:05, because in real life there pretty much ISN'T a safe way to knock someone out with a blow to the head without risking brain damage. The very act of being bluntly knocked unconscious is itself brain damage, and the more it happens the worse and more permanent the effects. It's one of the most consistently unrealistic elements in films.

26:53 no it was definitely eywa. that isn’t some pagan religion as we’d see it on earth but (as grace put it) something actually measurable in the biology of the forest. the natives actually communicate with her and their ancestors and we’re shown that multiple times. i saw a comparison where someone said if we’re on the phone with someone, it’s not a matter of “belief” whether we’re talking to a person or not. that’s the kind of connection they have. eywa protects the balance of life and sent help when she recognized that it was being threatened. there’s no coincidence there, you saw the proof.

Yeah James Cameron filmed Avatar 2, 3 and 4 all in a row. Which is why it has taken so long. He's a very detail oriented director so I'm sure post production for 3 movies in the environments James Cameron wants to make will be a lot of work. Still a very long wait though.

In 2009 the CGI was years ahead of anything else during that time. It's a little dated now cause it's 13 years later but the environments still hold up really well. But the 3D was incredible. The most immersive 3d. Felt like you were really there.

It’s one of the highest grossing films because it was wide release, 3-D. $20. To $30. Per ticket. At the same time, it was in wide release, regular screen with DTS sound. $15. Per ticket. That doesn’t count merchandising, just butts in seats. The 3-D was so ground breaking, you had to go see it in that format. I am glad to see Zoe Saldana in the lead female role but even more happy to see
C.C.H. Pounder as her mother. One of my favorite actresses of all time!

When it came out it was in 3D. it was stunning. I have never seen 3D like this done before or since. I highly recommend you find a way to watch it in that format, it was groundbreaking. Most 3D movies are like knives and swords coming at you like jump scares etc. Avatar was like in every scene fascinating as things were moving all around you. I remember turning around several times during the movie as things seemed like they were moving behind me. It really felt like you were in that world. They even had special 3D glassed made for this movie, not those paper ones. I remember in an Interview James Cameron stated that the sequels are taking so long because the technology required was not invented yet, he had to create it.

This was James Cameron’s follow up to Titanic which was the highest grossing movie at the time. So there was some buzz around it. Visually Avatar was stunning and amazing just like Titanic and word of mouth spread which is how it became the highest grossing movie. Also it was the start of the 3D craze.
James got his movies on top by being innovative and ground breaking for their time. As did Spielberg with Jaws, ET, and Jurassic Park. Unfortunately now the highest grossing movies are just cookie cutter epic superhero franchises without any groundbreaking industry technology to accompany them.

The story takes place in the future, it's about two androids given task to raise children on a new planet to build new civilization after the Earth has been destroyed by the Religious War, but they discovered horrifying mysteries of this planet and the Earth which they must protect their family through all these dangers. It's a full on sci-fi and very much gives Prometheus' vibes.

Red Letter Media put out the best and most honest review of this movie. It was made in the era when TH-cam had a ten minute time limit and it is in two parts. I suggest that you check them out.
Fun Fact: Director James Cameron, known for being tough on set, allegedly kept a nail gun on set that he would use to nail cell phones that had the misfortune of ringing to a wall above the exit sign.

I remember this when it came out, hyped up beyond belief. Then people saw it and the jokes never ended, by the way, there was already a video game.

Would you consider watching classic horror movies except the ones you have seen? I recommend Peeping Tom the Haunting 1963 Deep Red Regards from Pretoria South Africa 🌍😇🙏

This and Ready Player One are my most hated films. There are worse films, for sure, but I hate these the most. They represent everything vapid and banal in Hollywood and our culture in general. The fact that Avatar was so insanely popular only makes it worse.

This film is awful. Cringy dialogue mixed with a generic story. Also it’s the most expensive white guilt film ever made.
