Everyone is going crazy about sleeveless dresses, but sleeves are so underrated in my opinion. They just make the dress so much more classy and whimsical, I love it!

@@user-lj7mg7sp1g Not necessarily. I've seen brides in colder months wearing a sleeveless dress with some sort of coat on top when they went outside.

I agree, I like sleeved dresses. Its classier in my opinion.
Also, 99% of time, sleeveless dress means tucking your dress back up, making sure it sits right etc. And so often it makes the upper body look longer, but not in a proportional way.
Before influencers on YT, before monetization (I think), I looked up 'sock bun' on a friend's recommendation, and found your video. Absolutely stunning. I've been sewing for 20 years, and I still don't think I'd be brave enough to design and make my own wedding gown. But you did it, and it's STUNNING. Congratulations on an amazing achievement, and also on your marriage!
Thank you! Honestly, I think the only reason I was able to do it is that I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I tend to dive into projects without thinking and wing it as I go- troubleshooting my way through them and fixing things until I'm happy. Too much knowledge would've made this too intimidating of a task!
@@Loepsie Congratulations Loepsie, you looked like a dream on your wedding day! IMHO it is the creative process, the 'not knowing but wishing to make' which is the best part of sewing. Even if it takes 'blood sweat and tears' the final product is certainly worth it. :)

With the buttons, I know it's far passed time to change the dress (lol), but maybe this will be helpful for others who are thinking of doing this. You dont have to purchase new buttons, just color them with varnish or dye to achieve the color you want!!

Oh wow, that's so, so beautiful! Kudos to you for working with tulle and lace (both finicky fabrics) for the first time (!) on your WEDDING DRESS. That's some determination there to end up with such a beautiful gown (although I was getting secondhand stress when you were stressed in the video even though I knew everything worked out perfectly, ha, which shows I probably don't have the right personality to make a wedding dress because I was like, "will everything be alright? oh no!" when problems happened and you started the video saying it ended up perfect, ha). I think though your wedding will always be so much more special than it would have been had you not made the dress, because I feel like it's perfectly you in a way you can't get unless all that time and effort went into making it yourself and that will always be so, so special and sentimental (and also something to be incredibly proud of)! So congratulations, on both the dress and the wedding! I was waiting for this video (and hoped everything would go okay because of the pandemic) and all that work paid off, because your dress turned out exactly right for you (and you really do look perfect in it).
