Heat gun- I use mine to quickly dry paint, soften the glue to dismantle furniture and quickly cure polymer clay without an oven. Gets a lot hotter than a hair dryer.

In this video, I'm decorating a cardboard room box with a tin ceiling, cereal box wall paneling and random width wood floors.
I'll ultimately be turning this room box into a vintage kitchen. It's only 3 inches deep but it looks deeper due to a forced perspective illusion. There's enough room for a fireplace, antique looking stove, a chair and lots of accessories.

*8:50** exactly the kind of miniaturist I wanna be!* I've tried watching other videos, but keep coming back to yours because I love this style and the way you clearly and simply explain everything! Thank you for sharing so much! ♥ Jenny

Food was not put up in cans until the 20th century. If this is 19th century, the kitchen would show food canned in glass jars. You are very talented and clever.

Sneak up on your work! Leave room for errors. A lesson I've taken to heart.

I know I mentioned it before but I really like the way the ceiling turned out, and leaving it like that I think was perfect!

Thank you! I'm sure you've been there where you take a project one step too far and it doesn't look as good. It's important to quit while you're ahead 😉

i thought you would need to make panel strips narrower as they got towards the back wall for the illusion of being further away, but making boards varying widths, you didn't need that. Brilliant!

That's great! What did you decide to do? The cereal box boards could definitely be used on a floor but I also really love the random width flooring.

@@queencityminis I decided to use the random width flooring. I was gifted some unfinished wood pieces I can use for floor boards.

That's great! I really enjoyed making the cardboard shadow box. My kitchen is almost done. I'll be doing many more in the future. Not sure what theme but possibly a library. Definitely a Halloween one. The fun never stops.
