Good morning, Mr. Adam! What happened with Emmett that made him change his mind? Did YOU or someone else talk some sense in him? Sorry if you answer this later, as I am penning this as I start to listen. The GRASS always seems greener elsewhere, eh? IMHO, the portal and NIL SUCKS and has ruined college sports. This is also the view of many of my buddies. Even so, I am very glad that Emmett decided to stay, sir! 😁😁
P.S. I am certain that you have seen the NU 2025 schedule, eh? It is VERY STRANGE and unprecedented, isn't it? WOW; 8 HOME games to start the season and then 4 AWAY to end it!!! 😱😳 The Huskers could go undefeated, since there is NO Ohio State or Oregon! Our toughest games to win might be @ Minnesota and Penn State back-to-back, eh? 🤷‍♀🤷‍♂ Since I'm now 74, this is likely NU's BEST CHANCE in my lifetime to ever win the B1G X (aka B1G XIV/Pac IV)! GBR forever!!! Mike in Omaha huskers.com/sports/football/schedule/season/2025

      Glad to have Emmett back!
Nebraska needs to recruit players they think best fit their program rather than basing recruiting on gold stars.
NU's offensive line needs major help! Also, the combination of a new defensive coordinator, new defensive line coach and mostly new defensive front seven will be challenging which likely puts more pressure on the offense and, therefore, the offensive line.
Coaches ahead of Deion for Coach of the Year: Dan Lanning, Kenny Dillingham, Curt Cignetti, Rhett Lashlee, Spencer Danielson and Marcus Freeman.

This is AWESOME! Very happy to hear he's staying, I like Emmett a lot, I've been in his corner all season and couldn't understand why he wasn't being used all season the way Dana used him at the end. Very happy to hear he's staying, consistency on the team means a lot to me and it means a lot to keep a guy here from their freshman season and onward.
Thank you Emmett!! Shoutout to you and also shoutout to our boys like Ty Robinson, Nash Hutmacher, Heinrich Haarburg and alllll the other boys who have stayed the course and stayed faithful to Husker nation. There's a lot of us out here that really appreciate it and you guys will always be remembered for sticking around through all these difficult years we've had here at Nebraska.

Kennyn dillingham is my pick for coach of the year -- in a way new faces are OK but I subliminally adopt all players who wear the Scarlett and Cream and may have to slow down that practice somewhat because though a large family is fine having this many is tough to handle at family reunions..........I love to watch the progress of new young players much like watching your own kids grow and succeed -- I think we can certainly use another center and think that position should be a priority

Can we take meaningful steps to slow down the transfer portal frenzy and ensure NIL remains aligned with the spirit of college sports? Consider these proposals: 1) Eliminate the redshirt year to prioritize immediate contribution over stalling player eligibility. 2) Limit athletes to a maximum of five years of college football participation (barring injuries) to maintain competitive balance and encourage commitment. 3) Tie NIL earnings to performance and longevity at a school, rather than guaranteeing money just for showing up. 4) Require players to forfeit NIL deals if they leave midseason, thereby reinforcing team loyalty and accountability. 5) Prohibit binding contracts to ensure NIL remains a reflection of current performance, not future speculation. 6) Impose a mandatory one-year departure for athletes entering the transfer portal, with re-entry allowed only after a year away, leveling the playing field for all transfer applicants. These changes could restore stability, fairness, and a sense of tradition to college football. What do you think? Go Big Red!

lol had a feeling… this is so big. But mostly because this is the strength that we can have over almost everyone-- continuity. This transfer portal is a terrible idea, but it can be a weakness we can avoid-- and capitalize upon. Continuity and team chemistry is way more important than I think the majority of people think. Loyalty; integrity; grit; growth mindset: these are qualities tied to this program and instilled in our citizens. We need these kinds of players. If they want to leave, we are better off- as long as we keep many of them like Johnson. Thank you 🙏

As to guys like Skattebo, he’s very good. He’s a guy who can help a program get to the next level. But he’s also the kind of guy who, if he doesn’t show more respect to his teammates, can tear his team up-especially when he’ll be making shit-tons of NIL money and his O-Line is making $100/month from the University Pizza Joint.
Cam seems to me to be such a me-me-me guy… Renting guys like him for a season is what we have in this era of college football. Personally, I hate it…… but oh well.

Well, so he’s back, but he’s not really special. What happened to the recruit the one in Omaha who is the best back in Nebraska and where is kid from Crete Nebraska who average is 9 yards of carry every time he touches the ball over 2000 yards one season. Why aren’t they here in the running back room? Why isn’t?Harrvjivk in the running back room why don’t we ever have a quarterback? Who can run? We don’t even have a quarterback. Who can do a quarterback sneak because he’s 7 yards back, so it’s not 1st to go from the five first and 12 by the time he gets defence is already gobbled us up. Let us know about the running back from Omaha and Crete, we need speed back there who is afraid to run. He spends more time running backwards and sideways that he does forward. He never going to make it if he gets to the pro level, I don’t think he’s much different, maybe not as good as Martinez and Tommy Armstrong. We don’t even have an RPO because there is no r anymore. It would be so easy to build a defence against Nebraska. All you gotta do is send five guys towards a quarterback and he runs scared every time and throws it away. Even when he runs he dies to the ground or runs out of bounds, can’t even take a running.

I'm hoping for contracts to protect the players and the schools. It's unbelievable anyone thought NIL should be without contracts. What happened at UNLV wouldn't have happened with contracts.

I'm not unbiased either... But I really do think it should be Dillingham. They were picked to be at the bottom of the Big 12 at the beginning of the season I think??? And to come in and play the way they have especially here at the end of the season is just impressive. An argument could be made for Cignetti too. He was already a successful head coach (just google him) so the fact that he was successful wasn't what was impressive. The fact that he made the playoff with Indiana however is. Trying to put my bias aside, Deon didn't make the playoff and he had a nice run in a pretty mediocre conference but didn't make the championship game. And I really don't think they were that much better than they were last year, they just played weaker competition overall. But then again, I'm definitely biased ;)
