  • Visiting Abu Dhabi's Grand Mosque, also known as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
Located in Abu Dhabi, this is a must-see point of interest. Located about 20 minutes away from the main city center.
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque takes its name from the late founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who was born in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in 1918 at Qasr al-Hosn and sadly passed away in 2004.
Construction of the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi began on November 5, 1996, with over 3,000 workers. The maximum capacity is approximately 50,000 people.
Fusion of heritage, vision and modern design. Full of history to see and learn from.
Please pay attention to rules for visiting, such as clothes and photography or filming.
Free entry ticket which you can obtain online or at the main tourist entrance.
The easiest way to reach the Grand Mosque is via Taxi or special Bus.
There is a bus shuttle service from the mosque to the memorial Wahat Al Karama. The buses leave around every 35-60 minutes from the Grand Mosque .
Walking to and from the mosque, as well as inside, is about 10-20 minutes of walking, or more, so use comfortable shoes.
Morning and evening are good times to visit. Mid-day can get quite hot exploring the outdoors.
