I have been listening to Engineer saheb for a while now. I just want to comment on few things which are to do with communication. I am not a religious person at all but still felt compelled to write. The biggest advantage Engineer has over his so called rivals is that he does not defend the indefensible. He does not try to make a square out of a circle.He is also an excellent communicater who knows how to engage an audience. Generally his words are sharp, crisp and carefully chosen . He is a quick thinker and understands the consequence of a gaff made by a public speaker. His extensive knowledge of Hadith and Islamic history is amazing. The other very significant advantage he has is that he encourages debate and disagreemt with civility. Agreeing to disagree is a trait which is appreciated here in west. At times, he does come across as an arrogant person but it is all subjective. The reasoning, the logic and the skill to put the message across has made him popular with youth and educated community. So I think what I have written here is more helpful and useful for the people who disagree with him. I think it would be a good idea for them to atleast emulate him on the technical aspects of a debate.I do not agree with everything he says, but being in communication business myself for years I can say that he is very impressive.
