He would of blamed the fans and the media in Mtl that would of been too hard on him expecting him to be a 8millions$ player and to play hard and not be a cry baby when he would've had a slump... he wouldn't of lasted a half a season in Mtl and would of had a mental breakdown
He said it from his point of view. It's pretty common some players need that structure to be as clear as possible. St-louis style of coaching would have been good for him.
I was heavy on the PLD train but seeing the trade and the contract he got, we dodge a bullet. If it was for less assets and with a 6m ish extension I would've been thrilled.
He played pretty good his second season in Winnipeg and alternated between 1a/b and 2c. If LA put him at 2C and not at winger he may have been fine to continue but they played Phillipe Danault ahead of him and kept moving Byfield around all the time. I won’t defend him though as he reverts to being very unengaged the second his ice time drops and his tires aren’t being pumped. He’s not someone who makes those around him better he just wants to do it himself.
As a Habs fan I hate to agree with him but you pay a guy like him that kind of money and anyone that has watched hockey has know about him needing a Pat on the back as they say, to keep him going, and if Kings did their jobs they would’ve know that, but lots of issues coming out of L.A with Bergy fingers in pie with this trade. Also they should’ve had a clear path for him as well when you pay a guy that much money , you give him direction or tell him do as you wish. It’s either or, not talking with him is not a good idea with player like Dubois. They need to shoulder part of the blame for his trade. Also, I’m glad we didn’t get either, but if we did I’m 100% confident in saying his results under MSL would’ve been different because he’s a hands on coach. ie. Wifi , Armia, Slaf. Plus they would’ve had to eat 3.5 mill/yr to do the trade
caps fan, if he gets 60 i dont care im more interested to see if jakob vrana gets a contract, caps are way better with or with out pld, caps defense will be sick with scoring, and help our already steady good goal tending. i can see ivan myro... making the team out of camp. he seemed to make the jump in ahl playoofs from ahler to nhler imo. we get ryan leonard as we enter the playoffs as well.
This is y u can’t win with him it’s everyone else fault news flash Dubois u don’t care about the game and u are a cancer into every locker room u enter
PLD a perfect fit for Vancouver. Certainly not Montreal. At least the Laine risk is minimal as it is only 2 years. To even consider PLD with that current contract is beyond stupid.
The truth is the caps arent paying him more than 6 million per season. By that I mean subract all thatcmobey that was going to the worthless goalie now an LA king. The caps are stacked on goaltending. Getting the Kuemper money off the books, then adding What they pay pld the caps pay him on average 6 million per season. That is a good deal for the caps, especially if he gets back to 30 goals and 70 points per season which I expect. Great deal for the caps since they get a player they need and get Kuemper off the roster. That money saved is a lot. Its in pld’s pocket. Caps have done great deal if pld is 50-80 points per tear the next 7.
He lacks adaptability and let's talk about scars as a Kings fan I have scars from losing Vilarde and Iafallo. Very unprofessional to blame the Kings, how long before he flames out in DC. That trade should have cost Blake his job, also no plan for Quick's replacement.
He makes a lot of money and never stops whining and blaming others for his problems. So now we've had, The Peg, Columbus, and LA. In my opinion, 3 strikes and your OUT!
Just go and watch him play and you'll see he shouldn't even be in the league, I wouldn't want him on my team at salary minimum. Most overpaid NHL player of all time
PLD is honestly so overhated now. Are we gonna forget just a season ago he was almost a PPG player? While being a fantastic two way center while a solid frame and being still a decently young player. I dont think hes worth his money. But i wouldnt be suprised if he hits 80 points or paces for it and becomes Washingtons #1 C.
Uhh you might want to do more reading since you obviously do not know that Patrik Laine's dad passed away two years ago. That is why he had to use the Player's assistant program. His head wasn't in a good place. Players are human beings and Laine as been a near a point player his entire career unlike PLD. So give him a break.
Montreal dodged a huge bullet.
If PLD thinks he so hard done by, why doesn't he let the Caps just nullify his contract. Go as a UFA, and see what his value is.
I'm so glad we didn't trade for this bum. One of the worst brat attitude in the league and he's only a good 2C at BEST... makes way too much money.
3C at best in Montreal. Making more than anyone on our first line.
More than that, I'm so glad he didn't drop to the Canucks in the draft.
@@BaoNguyen-bh2rk Was long after Torts was there. They might have kept him heading toward his ceiling.
@@r_p_m7330 I hope for Monteal's sake the situation isn't repeated as it was in LA.

Habs would be dumb to trade for PLD
they dont want him now the trade talks were when he was getting traded from Winnipeg
"You're being paid world beater money! BEAT THE WORLD!" - Steve Dangle.

I would accept him in a trade IF, we get assets, and 2 teams take 50% each, so about $2 mil.
More than that, I'm so glad he didn't drop to the Canucks in the draft.

No one here wants him
Here's a guy getting paid millions of dollars expecting the team to guide him on what to do?? Unreal!
He played pretty good his second season in Winnipeg and alternated between 1a/b and 2c. Would be nice coinsidence if both PLD and Laine would have found teams that makes them best versions of themself.
Montreal would have been a bad idea! No bueno!

So it's never his fault, but every organization he has played for ?!?! That's all a gm needs to know
PLD talked about gray areas. Hope he's out of those gray areas now that he is in Washington.
This guy is such a clown it’s not even funny anymore
There we go again, ALL OVER THE HOCKEY WORLD..... it's one article from the Presse (In Montreal) only!! He will on the same line with Crosby LOL
TG Habs didn’t deal for PLD
great moov !!! Habs did not need a re hab Hab...((.....!

PLD is a whiny little kid that cry when it doesn’t goes his way 😂
We don't want him lol
3 articles 0 Habs content 😅
we dont need PLD he is not as good as he thinks he his.
BIG Baby... just shut up and play the game.....
dubois and a second for future considerations lollllllllll
PLD would have been awesome as a Hab. LAKings had a coaching change mid season and it just didn't click. PLD and Laine is legit.

I feel sorry for the Caps..
Good luck trying to trade that contract
Self entitled.
