These are one set of British dudes I ain't gonna be messin with..I am in the US south and never knew the battle flag was so liked in certain parts of Europe, but it is a adaptation of the Scot St. Andrew thanks to Scots who moved here a many a years ago..I reckon it goes with the music also..
Yes,we have adopted the Confederate flag as a sign of us being rebels to society, and at the gigs there will be Rebel flags being flown, the Confederate flag is not racist, like some would have you believe, and to take down all those statues wasn't good,we are being dictated to by the minority who like to call people a racist to keep them quiet, but as a Ted it wont work,we know the history of the Confederacy,as for the north making the war about slavery,it didnt stop slavery,i dont think it was till the late 60`s that it was really abolished, there were still signs that said whites only,no coloured. We will never give up our confederate flags, they represent who we are..
@Jay Moh Yes i know,i have been a Ted since 1975,and still going strong,i dont consider my use of it as being racist, there is good and bad in every race and color..
Your not wrong there, i still wear my Drapes and creepers, i started in 1975 and still going today, hair is grey as are the mutton chops but thats what happens..
The Teddy Boy style and ethos is English and always has been, it started in London copying Edwardian styles, along with the American RocknRoll music of the mid to late 50s, it was a long time ago and other generations have tried to copy this style especially in 70s/80s, the confederate flag was never part of this style until the late 70s, this flag does stand for racism in the American Southern states, the flag of the Klu Klux Klan can stand for nothing else but racism, most of these so called Teds are too stupid to see it, just like the 70s bikers wore the swastika with pride as did punks of that ere. We have moved on from these times and can still enjoy music without displaying discriminatory symbols as proof of what we belong to, the real rebel these days is the person that does not get tattoos and have to dress in certain way to be cool.
I know many Teds who have lost their hair but are still Teds today, and why not,Teds in the beginning didnt have Quiffs and a DA,that came after, this is something best left off social media,to bring it up would get you strung up by your balls, and rightly so...
I was a Teddy girl in 70s and 80s just don't think il look right with dancing with walking stick and my grey hair 🤣🤣 love the music still 😁

The Teds were and are uniquely British phenomenon and are not a bunch of leapord-skinned wallies.
