  • We test the AquaTru, a countertop reverse osmosis water purifier. In our tests, we took filtered water and sent it to a 3rd party laboratory for testing. Is the water ACTUALLY better? See what the lab has to say.

    The AquaTru Classic is a countertop reverse osmosis system. It uses a 4-stage filtration system with fantastic results. Thanks to help from SimpleLab, we were able to get laboratory testing on the filtered water. When compared to unfiltered water, the AquaTru showed the filters work incredibly well.
    It is the most highly purified water we have tested to date. Additionally, the filters are cost efficient, producing one gallon of purified water for just $0.12. It is easy to set up, use, maintain, and ultimately is a great option for at home water filtration.

    @ModernCastle thanks for your videos they’re awesome. I have a question about AquaTru filters, dont you think that after a few months the filters start accumulating algae or other bacteria? Is there a way that we can clean the filter every month to avoid this formation? Like using hydrogen peroxide or vinegar?

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Aquatru is designed for city water. City water should never have live organisms or bacteria in it. So long as you are using city water or other water sources that have a 0% chance of including live organisms then you will never see any accumulation of algae / bacteria.
      I don't know of any way to clean the filter and I would not recommend it.
      I suspect attempting to clean the filters in these ways could damage the unit and/or create unsafe compounds that you end up drinking.

      @@benjames1497 I wouldn't be overly concerned about the plastic. In my view, it's not any more dangerous than any of the other numerous plastic components that come into contact with your water.
      That said, I also do make a point of removing it from the filter as soon as it's done and putting it into a glass pitcher to chill in the fridge.

    The thing that makes this not worth it for me is the 6-month replacement nonsense. I'd end up trashing lots of lightly used filters. This will increase the cost to the point where it isn't worth it.

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @ModernCastle
      @ModernCastle  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@93goldentoad In most cases, they can't / don't know and aren't trying to know. Filter replacement schedules are almost always based on time under normal operating conditions. So the filter light flips on at 6 months, 1 year, and 2 years, regardless of how much water is going through the machine...and regardless of the type of water.
      Customers would need to use their own discretion beyond that.
