The whole "you can't hold me accountable because I'm having a mental breakdown" thing is a very common tactic used by abusers. I've known multiple men who have told women "if you don't date me/forgive me/sleep with me/whatever, I'll kill myself," and it's a form of emotional manipulation. This isn't to say that a person who has faced public criticism can't go through some mental health struggles following that criticism, but when those struggles are weaponized by them and/or their fanbase, it stops being legitimate and starts being a way for them to escape scrutiny.
Ah yes the emotional hostage. Been there it's not a fun place to be put in and it really messes with your head. It makes you feel like you can't bring up basic criticism for fear of mentally hurting them. It's really fucked.

She is going to try and prove they manipulated her to make that video, based on lies, and that it ruined her reputation. It doesn't matter if the public believes her, it only matters what the evidence proves.
Her video was 100% calculated. She didn't admit fault, doubled down on Jafar and Shame being vindictive and manipulative, implied that Jafar is guilty of extortion, reinforced Jafar blackmailing people (stated by other people online), mentioned being fearful and stressed (stated by other people online), etc... Her recent video being poorly received actually supports that her reputation was ruined by making Bye Sister. Everyone who has dealt with Jafar and Shame will likely be subpoenaed and will have to provide a deposition. I bet James will be a witness for her case, as well.

In Shane's book, his exact words were, "I'm still shocked and slightly offended that I was never molested." People are mainly taking issue with how he worded that statement, not the fact that he said he wasn't molested back then, but is now saying that he was. (Just for clarification no hate towards you!)

I have no where else to say this so I’m gonna put it here: where I have an issue with this whole situation is that Tati was and continues to be ridiculed and hated by the internet for her video when this is the first, FIRST, major scandal she has been in her entire time on yt. To my knowledge, and correct me if I’m wrong, she has never said or done anything remotely as terrible or racist as Shane and Jeffree and yet people are cancelling her just as hard. It makes me think about thatgirlShae’s video where she talks about the misogyny in the beauty community when it comes to cancellation. I feel as if Tati is the only one of the trio that put in the work to make up for her slanderous video, which obviously was a terrible thing to do to a 19 year old boy. But people wanna cancel her so hard to distract from the actual issues which are Shane and Jeffree. I do think it’s a little flawed to think that women can’t be the root of sexism as well but I in no way want to say your opinion comes from a sexist place. I think that, on screen, it seems like she didn’t take accountability but her actions in making up with Jackie Aina and James Charles would show she did grow from her shortcoming last year. Shane and Jeffree deserve far more speculation than her because they have a repeated pattern of racist and toxic behavior. She has received more than enough for her behavior and they are only now getting their comeuppance. I do think you have a valid point with her vitamin company, however, and to that I would say she didn’t act much like a CEO when she made that video. Hopefully she will grow in that realm of her life as well ♥️

Allegedly Eugenia has a habit of associating with/defending predators and pedos. According to her subreddit, she knew that a mod of hers was making some of her younger viewers uncomfortable by saying some suggestive things, and yet she excused it because she “knew he was a sweet guy at heart” or something along those lines. I’d recommend you look at her subreddit, it’s pretty interesting and incriminating.
She's the poster child for toxic positivity. She'll choose to invalidate the abuse people experienced in favour of not saying something "mean" about someone.

I’ve come to realize that it doesn’t matter if you “don’t believe in that sort of thing” anymore, you need to *do* something that counteracts or offsets it. You need to be active with that change. If you are genuine then it shouldn’t be difficult to do something, if you’re lying you’ll either not do it or you *will do it* to save face because money is money and you’re still giving up something of yourself to avoid appearing bigoted.

He was a child and when your brains developing it’s much more likely that the trauma memories will be pushed away and forgotten to protect you because it’s too much to handle. He didn’t go to therapy until after the book release meaning it’s possible he believed he didn’t get molested until after his sessions started

As someone with Bipolar and often paralytic levels of anxiety, I can say that no one should be absolved of accountability 100% of the time. The mental health card shouldn't be used as an excuse.
here’s a theory about the loss of subscribers: Jeffree exists in the public consciousness not just as a TH-camr but as a brand and company. He’s a brand owner so he’ll probably maintain a more firm count of followers/subscribers because people are aware of him separate of his personal life and TH-cam. Shane doesn’t have that as firmly. He’s 100% a TH-camr and within the TH-cam world, things are more fluid within that space so his subscribers will really fluctuate. There’s people who just follow Jeffree for makeup and don’t watch or care about his TH-cam relationships.
this is real smart ngl, Shane's audience would also be way more sensitive to a first major canceling, whereas Jeffery's have been through a lot of people "cancelling" him and wouldn't care as much
