      @@MusicWithMarky well from what i could hear, the axe 3 is more clear sounding, and on most rythms, lead its the opposite, and there was one amp and one rythm the axe 3 was not clear on the rythm. the kemper seems to have it beat... but then again, im not so sure. they both seem to have their own value, pros and cons, and good or bad. I like them both. and would purchase either. i see great deals on both from time to time. thanks again.

    Great video! Man, you who have contact with both units (Ax fx, Kemper, QC) do you think that the amp simulations of the Ax fx3 sound as good as the captures or profiles of the QC and Kemper, or do these have an advantage over the Fractal? I realize that Fractal has incredible effects. It has an excellent sound. And good effects help a tone when playing. But about the amp sound only, I'm in doubt if an Ax fx 3 or a QC would be better.. Kemper for example?
    Cheers!

    • @MusicWithMarky
      @MusicWithMarky  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Within the last year, I think that the Axe FX has reached the level where I feel the amp models are equal. I have always felt that you could tweak either one of these things enough to get a great sound. Now I feel that the almost indescribable organic quality that some people really like has made its way onto the Axe FX as well.

      I would have such a tough time choosing. There's a couple sounds in the Kemper that I use so frequently that I would really miss them, but the ability to tweak and create on the Axe FX is enormous for me as well. I think, if I absolutely had to I would keep the Axe FX, but try like heck to recreate those other sounds on it.

    • @GuitarTeleMan
      @GuitarTeleMan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MusicWithMarky Wow, thank you for such a quick response and an honest reply. I may feel exactly as you stated. My Kemper is amazing, and one thing I don't like about it is the Bass, treble, mid and presence controls are universal and not the ones that would be on the selected amp, therefore the more I tweak, the more I move away from the original amp. Consequently it brings me back sifting through the rabbit hole of Profiles of the same amp. With the axe fx, if I'm correct, I would just tweak the tone controls that are inherent to that amp (I think). I hope I have not offended any Kemper owners...I usually don't post but I value your opinion. Anyway, thank you, waiting for availability of the FM9. Oops, One other complaint- who really understands the Kemper Drive. (move an knob and it becomes a different pedal strange...lol)

    • @MusicWithMarky
      @MusicWithMarky  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, no problem! Yes, with the Axe FX, the controls are based on the inner workings of each specific amp. They also have an "ideal" tab where there are additional controls for those who want more control than the original amps offered.

    As i always thoutght and feel, kemper sounds and feel like a real amp and the axe in my opinion has a more cold sound. Axe is better for metal but for blues, rock, funk and so on kemper sounds are the best.

    Hey man I’ve been wondering which one I should choose I like that both the Kemper and fractal have pedalboards you can get for them and I’m having a really hard time deciding between the Kemper and the fx3 I play almost everything and I know that a lot of metal heads really like the fx3 but how good is it for blue rock jazz and funk compared to the Kemper? I also know that the Kemper has the powers head or rack and they make there own cabinet with the Kemper cone in it and I also know the fx3 would need a preamp and a cab or a powerd cabinet but I’m having a hard time deciding which one I should get I like the tweakability of the fx3 but I also like the Kemper. I am also planning on using not just electric guitar but bass as well as acoustic probably so this is also a factor as far as compatibility.

    • @MusicWithMarky
      @MusicWithMarky  ปีที่แล้ว

      So really I can say with great confidence that you would be happy with the sounds on either one for any genre. They have both come so far and there are so many user presets that you can download that sound great.
      The answer I always come to with this is that if you are the kind of person that really wants to tweak the heck out of sounds and create stuff that you should go with the AxeFX. However, if you are the kind of person that would just love to plug into a warehouse full of other people's really cool rigs and not worry much about tweaking it, then I would suggest the Kemper.

    • @saxa_frank1917
      @saxa_frank1917 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MusicWithMarky so which one do you think would be better for multiple instruments and do you think that the fractal is more worth it due to the frequent updates and it modern technology 🤔 I’m sorry for all the questions this is just a really difficult and important decision for me😅

    • @MusicWithMarky
      @MusicWithMarky  ปีที่แล้ว

      They both handle a bass well. I strongly believe that you could make either one sound EXACTLY like the other. To me the decision is about what path you like to take to get to your sounds.
      If you're going to have it plugged into the PC, the ax edit software allows you to do crazy detailed stuff like changing out tubes in an amp and messing with electronic resistance and such. Kemper has a bit of software that allows you to change effect settings and move them around in the chain and whatnot, but it's not nearly as granular.
      So it still comes back to if you prefer tweaking or you like plugging into pre-created rigs more. The axe has plenty of presets available online and in the unit but not nearly as much as the Kemper. The Kemper has more presets but isn't nearly as programmable.
      Also if you're going to be doing a bunch of complicated stuff live with sending MIDI signals and whatnot, the axe is more robust for that.
      For me, The Kemper stays in my studio and my library has an Axe FX on it.

  • @MrDavemiley

    I'll choose the Kemper over the AXE FX III any day for all of the clean sounds. The two deal breakers for me on the Fractal AXE FX are the sterile sounding clean amp models and the on board compressors. If AXE FX can ever get the cleans sounding as good as all the Overdrive and distortion sounds , I'll buy one. Tried the AXE FX II years ago, sent it back for a refund because of this. Then tried the AXE FX III . . . very little improvement on the clean sounds. Sent it back for a refund as well . Killer overdrive /distortion sounds , mediocre "dinky" cleans at best, YO Fractal !! FIX THAT !!!

    • @MusicWithMarky
      @MusicWithMarky  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I find that I tend to use the AxeFX for the types of cleans that are that heavy verb prog style. There's also a setting in the amp block... I'm going to have to look it up and do a video on it, that changes the sounds in a really warm and pleasant way that works great with cleans.

    Using an axe fx3 is much easier than a kemper. When he said you can not load patches that is not true at all. With axe edit it is very easy to have presets saved on your computer and load them in just as fast as a kemper. maybe he should learn how to use an axe a little better before making videos about it.
