I've finally got my 1940s dolls house that has been at my son's house the last few years. It is a family history project I have planned, but not really worked on yet, so excited to start.
It's amazing how much detail has gone into the house - the fact that the stairs actually lead somewhere and it's a full house and can be opened up on both sides is great. You've definitely got a lot to keep you busy with there that's for sure.
It is incredible isn't it? I didn't even realise the stairs went all the way round until hubby pointed it out, all these years later...I guess I must have forgotten. Ha ha yes I have LOTS of projects to keep me busy, let alone what I need to do outside in the garden! I am so behind with that after being laid up for over three weeks.
I love the back history of your dad's 1940's home and all the fittings that you've saved specifically for it. The custom doll's by Robin are Adorable but what's most exciting are your plans to recreate the bedtime stories your dad use to tell you when you were a child; a Unique Idea and something I'm eagerly looking forward to!
Thank you so much! I need to get back to working on it...I am a great procrastinator with this house...it is partly because Dad is reluctant now to relay the history and remember the stories, and living 12,000 miles away from him doesn't help!

Probably too many projects, but I like to be kept busy and enjoy a variety of things to do. I am quite excited to finally get started on this, it has been in the planning stages for a very long time!

Thank you so much, hoping to start working on it properly this year. I have some kits to make. That is really interesting to know. In my actual grandparents house the fireplaces weren't in the corners, but hey, we just have to have a little poetic licence 😊
It is a wonderful house. I keep procrastinating about it, but want to make some progress once I get the area it is kept in set up so that I can work at it from both sides...just waiting for my husband's new 'train' shed to be lined and then some of the stuff in what is my sewing studio can be rearranged and I can hopefully work on it. 😊
I really liked the attic space, I love this dollhouse, it is so wonderful that it opens from both sides.
